We made reservations at the last minute on a Saturday night for the time warp show. We did not know…read morewhat to expect. The young lady who answered the phone was very sweet in explaining things. They told us to arrive between 6:00-6:16 pm, seatings was at 6:30. The entrance is on the west side of a church. Area was clean and once inside there was sitting areas to wait. At 6:45pm the doors opened and they called each party to come in. Once in the room, there was a photographer taking picture with some of the characters of the show. You are seated with other people. Our waitress name was Dandi, very sweet. They provide tea, water and coffee to drink and you get a choice between chicken or brisket for the main. The sides are set and you can remove but not changed. Each seat had a garden salad at each seat with ranch and they had a back of very delicious rolls. While everyone is eating there was a gentleman singing and playing the guitar. The show started shortly after everyone got done eating. The singers are good as well as the dancers. Keep in mind this is not a Branson production. The crowd was mostly seniors and if desired dancing is allowed. Intermission happened and a large plater of desserts were brought to the table. I got the warm bread pudding and it was delicious. Show ended at 10:30 and the singers and dancers were at the exit thanking everyone for coming. Lovely evening. They give discount codes on Facebook and I heard somebody say they do offer a senior discount. For the two of us was $79.50.

We have been attending ArtWorks Academy of Performing Arts for some time, and until today we had…read morenever been told that parents or children could not wait in the lobby after class. In fact, their own website states that parents and children may wait in the lobby. Today, on one of the hottest days of the year during an Oklahoma heat advisory, my young daughter and her elderly grandmother were told they could not remain inside while waiting for their ride and were instructed to wait outside instead. This was not only inconsistent with the academy's published policy but also showed a concerning lack of judgment and concern for the safety and well-being of families. If the policy has changed, it should be clearly communicated in advance and reflected on the website. Instead, my family was unexpectedly forced outside into dangerous heat. This experience has left us extremely disappointed. A performing arts academy should prioritize the safety of its students and their families. Because of how this situation was handled, I can no longer recommend ArtWorks Academy to others, and we will not be returning. The instructors were always extremely nice and my daughter did enjoy going there. She will miss it but it is hurtful that they would force them in the heat on the first notice. I can understand a policy change or perhaps security/safety concerns but she had been waiting in the lobby this entire time without issue. They could have handled the situation better.

Update: After my original review, the owner contacted me, canceled all of my daughter's remaining…read morecamps, and refunded the unused camp fees. I appreciate that they processed the refund. However, the owner also asked me to remove my reviews because the refund had been issued. I respectfully declined. My goal was never to obtain a refund. A refund was simply the appropriate outcome for services that would no longer be provided. My goal has always been to make other families aware of my factual experience so they can make their own informed decision. Throughout our correspondence, the owner confirmed that my mother was asked to leave the building. To me, that is the heart of the issue. Once an elderly grandmother and a young child are asked to leave by someone in authority, they are naturally going to leave. The better response would have been to first ask simple questions such as, "Is your ride on the way?" or "Can we help while you wait?" The owner also acknowledged that Sofia told staff "Papa Carlos was on his way to pick them up," meaning they knew transportation had not yet arrived. Rather than taking a moment to understand the situation and find a safe solution, the decision was made to ask them to leave. The owner also stated that the wording of the camp policy on the website will be clarified, which I believe acknowledges that it was not as clear as it should have been. What disappointed me most was not the policy itself, but the lack of empathy afterward. A simple acknowledgment that this was a misunderstanding and an apology for the distress it caused my family would likely have resolved this very differently. Instead, every response focused on defending and justifying the actions taken. My review reflects my family's honest experience. I have updated it to include that the unused camp fees were refunded, but my opinion of how this situation was handled has not changed. I believe other parents deserve to know about my experience and decide for themselves. Original review: I am extremely disappointed with how ArtWorks Academy handled what should have been a simple conversation. This was my daughter's second (non-consecutive) year attending camp, and she was already in her third week this summer. My parents help us with pickup because both of my children finish camp at the same time in different locations. My mother waits with my daughter until my father picks up my son and then comes to get her. This arrangement had never been questioned before. Today, during an Extreme Heat Warning in Oklahoma, my elderly mother and my young daughter were told they could not remain in the air-conditioned lobby while waiting a short time for my father to arrive. I later received an email stating that parents and guardians are not permitted to sit in the lobby for any part of camp. However, after reviewing ArtWorks Academy's own website, I found their published policy states: "Parents and siblings are asked to wait in our lobby... You are welcome to bring your laptop and take advantage of the wireless internet connection at our facility." I also searched every email I have received and could not find the "Sunday email" that was referenced. My concern is not simply about a policy. If procedures had changed, a simple phone call or conversation would have resolved the situation. Instead, during dangerous heat conditions, my family was told they could not remain inside despite the academy's own published policy stating parents are asked to wait in the lobby. That demonstrated a lack of communication, consistency, and judgment. As a parent, those qualities are essential when deciding who to trust with your child. As a result of this experience, I immediately withdrew my daughter from all remaining camps. I will never send my child back to ArtWorks Academy, nor can I recommend this program to other families. Based on how this situation was handled, I no longer have confidence that my child would be in an environment where sound judgment and her well-being are prioritized.

5 star I got the honor of having "Jeremy the Juggler" out to…read morethe 7 libraries in our system with 9 different performances over spring break last week! As a past teacher, I loved the hands on part of Jeremy's show because it gave the kids a way to learn and practice, not just watch. He did such an wonderful job with his performance and his ability to work with any size group of children. One of our libraries had 50 attend, one had 3, and one had 94 and he was still very calm and helpful to every group either big or small. We had kids coming away from these performances either juggling, spinning plates, or a couple even learned how to "stationary juggling" with the big ball! One said "I know there are more stales in here open the fucking door" if you've been to the deli you would know there is only one toliet in the girls restroom. A grown male walked in to the restroom totally unprofessional and weird... The owner told us to get out obviously to de-escalate the situation this led to him telling us to get the fuck out as the bar was starting to close. We were just trying to tell him what happened as it was very uncomfortable, he then told us to use the mens restroom and it will be fine . If i were you i would avoid using the bathroom...because everyone felt like it was okay to watch you half naked/ felt in-tilted to kick the door open.

It's a great little space with lots of natural light, tall white walls, and a cool layout. Every year they have a show for emerging artists and their selection is always amazing; you won't find mediocre artwork here. I was one of the artists for the 2011 show (I hope that doesn't make me biased) but I have to say my fellow artists in this show were AMAZING. Seriously, this is top notch art you would expect to see in San Francisco or Chicago. I believe they have new shows every 6-8 weeks so be sure to check their website for upcoming events. They also rent out the gallery for parties/receptions. I also have to mention that the staff is wonderful and very sweet. No pretentious folks here! There's also a few cafes nearby so this would make a cute little Saturday afternoon date! A definite go to spot for any art lovers.
