Visiting the Improv was the center of our date night on the plaza and we really enjoyed it. The ticket purchase was a breeze and there is a lounge area where you can wait for the theater to open for the next show. We went to the 7:30 show on a Saturday night (though it started about 10 minutes late). It was divided into three segments with a different group performing for each and a break between the second and third. It seemed to get better with each group that went on stage, but all were entertaining. It was good and we'll definitely be back for more. Especially love that they have a family-friendly show at 6 and love that they offer classes. This is good, solid community stuff right here. I really like what they're doing and how hard they're working at it, but from a more objective perspective, the lounge up front needs some attention. It feels undeveloped and uninviting. We opted to wait in The Pritchard next door. I understand that this just needs time and budget, so please don't let it deter you, the thing OKC Improv really needs then is more visitors, right? Let's help this thing grow into something great!

Fun for a night out. Went for the Christmas show and we had a great time and a good laugh.

Both times, the staff has been attentive, friendly, prompt, and we have had two great experiences. I only review now because I was shocked at how many negative reviews have come out. I think this is an absolute standout location for Oklahoma City to have relevant comedians in an intimate and central location. I'm happy to support this business. There were a lot of oddball reviews I read, to each their own. This comedy club has been a wonderful "date night" with my wife both times, and I recommend it. If you're looking for a dinner experience with bottle service, it's a comedy club. They do have some tasty snacks and serve fantastic whiskey mules. Check them out.

These rules are communicated on the walls, in your confirmation email, and before the show. The club has a strong piss/beer smell in the entry way that was off putting but it wasn't as strong in the seating area. The seats are close together, which creates an intimate yet focused show. The food is pricey but it was pretty good. The waitstaff were efficient and nice. The comics were funny and had a range of comedy styles. The show was a good time, me and my boyfriend will be coming back.

The crowd was a fun mix, from early 20s to more seasoned patrons. I can definitely see it being a great place to explore with a group, bouncing from one themed space to another. I'm curious to come back on jazz night to see whether it leans more speakeasy than bar. One of the bartenders even shared a bit of the building's backstory: it was originally a house in McAlester, OK, transported all the way to OKC. Apparently it may have once been a nursing home and possibly a brothel. If only those walls could talk!

To make matters worse, I have both my signed purchase slip and itemized receipt in my possession. However, management didn't even bother to respond to my concern. It was an extremely memorable experience due to our friend with M.S. having a flare-up that completely changed the trajectory of our night. Naturally, I was quite coherent and spent a great deal of time tending to my friend. Only 2 of us even had a single drink, and we each have our purchase slips for our $12.48 beverages. Well, mine was $22.48 when you add in the tip. Honestly, I feel completely taken advantage of, considering that I tipped a generous $10 on the one drink item I had. Total slap in the face. I left the night with a relieved smile, not ever expecting that I'd be going through this later. As a former bartender and server of 18+ years, I do not take customer service lightly at all. I can definitely understand that transaction mistakes can happen--we're only human, but at least have the decency to own up to your mistake and make it right. Have enough care to at the very least, respond to a guest's concern. Don't, instead, try to pass off someone else's items onto another person. That's just unethical and wrong.
