I went one morning with two others while on vacation. We found summer breeze on yelp and were able to make last minute appointments. The staff was great and very attentive. I was also surprised they had zoya brand nail polish, which is my favorite brand. I got acrylic nails (by van I believe) and they definitely held up! She was very happy with the results and had a pleasant and much needed relaxing experience, which was more my concern than which ever way I felt about it, however. I also had a great relaxing experience! My super cute nails and toes look amazing and neat. Very friendly! I also got my eyebrows waxed in which I am insanely picky about and my eyebrows look absolutely amazing. I have very little eyebrows but they are scattered so my eyebrows are tough to shape and made to look even and neat. This will definitely be my regular spot for all things nails and eyebrows. It was my first time here & the quality is good for the price. My pedicure looks awesome a week later despite being on the beach daily. I got the gel shellac nails which looked decent but a week out the base of the nail was way too thick at the cuticle so it's starting to chip. I come to Avalon every summer. My winter home is San Francisco. Four years ago I discovered summer breeze. An incredible "family" of nail artists who make you feel so special and comfortable in their business. Very professional and exceptionally careful but the ultimate in relaxation however if you like to chat "like I do " they are very intelligent and caring and great conversationalists. Me and my best friend went to get a pedi and they had a great selection of colors, clean, bright, and close to the house...was referred to try so on our way down we planned to get pedis with our scheduled appt. time. This place is amazing! My nails were a mess after vacation and we had a wedding to go too. Even as busy as the place was the owner had no problem at all fitting me right in for a full set. Not only do they do stunning, professional work, but the entire environment of this place made you feel right at home. Great salon-- lovely owner and manicurists. My manicure lasted over two weeks (normally lasts less than one).

I've heard good things from other people, but I had a horrible experience. I got the new OPI gel "no-chip" manicure and had a terrible experience. He wouldn't paint anywhere near my cuticles and when I asked him to he would and then would wipe it off with his nail. My friend had gotten the manicure the day before and had only paid $20 and they charged me $30. When I asked about the difference they said, "too bad, that's the price". The next day it started to peal off. Now, 4 days later 4 have completely peeled off. My friend who went the day before me is having the same problem. I will NOT be going back! read more

I made appointments for 4 people on a Monday at 1130 and my party was seated in waves, the last of us 30 minutes later than our scheduled start time. I was willing to overlook that as I know it was a busy week and we are in a vacation town. Then my cousin received a terrible manicure which had uneven coats of polish and sloppy application of the top coat. We explained this to the younger owner (who we believe is the daughter of the owner family) and she was apologetic and offered my cousin to return free of charge at another time to have her manicure re done. My gel manicure looked great after it was done and I went on my way. The next day, one nail of the gel just completely came off in one piece. This has happened to me before, so I returned to the salon and asked for it to be fixed and was turned away by the older gentleman in the front, who told me that they were too busy to accommodate me (for a service that would take less than 5 minutes and said the only time they could seat me was 3 hours from now because i didn't make an appointment. Very disappointed -- will not be returning. read more
