I had the iced matcha with "moon milk." The barista let me try a sample of the milk before I ordered and it was very sweet, however the matcha cut the sweetness really well! I also had the blueberry danish warmed up but it was still cold in the middle..still good! There's a decent amount of seating inside and outside. The ambiance was super cute and open. I love the vibe I got from the coffee shop. I ordered the 1/2 Iced Moon Latte. I had to see what the moon milk was all about. This was the most smooth and best tasting latte I have had! The texture of the latte is something I could not explain. I just knew I could not wait to go back. A couple of my coffee loving friends put me onto Summer Moon Coffee. I was in the Friendswood area and made it a point to stop in. Summer Moon started out in the Hill Country and has been opening up shop in the Houston area. This particular location is in a busy strip of businesses. Walking in, I noticed how nice and cozy the place is. It looked like a local hangout and study spot. The young lady who helped me was super friendly and knew exactly what I was looking for. What sets Summer Moon apart is they wood-fire roast their coffee. This gives it a slightly different flavor profile than other places. In addition, they also use Moon Milk, which is their signature sweet cream they add to many of their creations. I went with one of their seasonal drinks which was the Toasted S'mores Iced Latte. I'm a sucker for all things s'mores flavored and this drink did not disappoint. The flavors of a s'more really shined through and the moon milk gave it a nice creamy and slightly sweet flavor. They have a nice variety of pastries if you are looking for a bite to eat. You can also purchase their coffee to make at home as well. Let me start by saying I LOVE Summer Moon coffee. The Summer Moon Latte has me in a chokehold. So yummy. However, I've been coming to this location for about 2 years now. And I'm not sure what happened with the customer service but it is TERRIBLE! The past 4 times I've came in, the baristas were either on their phone, talking to each other, in other words, doing everything but greeting me and taking orders. Now, tonight, there was a young lady preparing online orders; I work in retail as well, and I know that when there are customers in the store, you stop what you are doing to assist them and then go back to your online orders. This team needs to know that. Then another young lady came from the back and she stood there on her phone. She came to the register to get more online orders and started on those. You think she acknowledged me? Nope. Instead, I stood there until I asked if someone was going to help me. I should not have to asked to be help when I am right in front of you! 4 times in a row this has happened. It's getting ridiculous. read more

If you won't eat or drink somewhere that doesn't look clean then this is not your place! When I walked in I wasn't greeted, but once I got someone's attention the gentleman was perfectly nice and helpful. It seemed obvious enough that I was at the right place to order but between the looks I was getting from a lady waiting for her coffee and the other gal working I thought I was doing it wrong or had something on my face. I know these are younger people, probably working their first job, so if I'm in the area I might give it another try to see if it's better. I hate it when I hear great things about a place and it's not the best, but I'll try the one in my neighborhood closer to me for sure. Coffee was decent. Not super busy, but plenty of people still here hanging or working after morning rush. Looks like many have a new favorite place. I've been to this location a couple of times and the drink quality is on par with the stores in Austin. Because the stores are individually owned and operated, the flavor quality at other Houston area stores haven't always been consistent, but the Friendswood location has done a good job of consistently making tasty drinks. I typically do a 3/4 Winter Moon but wanted to try something different just to change it up. I had a medium (16 oz.) Iced Mocha Moon with skim milk. I had forgotten that the Moon Milk is made with whole milk. The barista asked if I wanted half skim, half Moon Milk or skim milk with Moon Juice. I opted to do skim milk with Moon Juice. I didn't modify the sweetness. The drink was pretty good, but I didn't like it as much as the 3/4 Winter Moon. The store is pretty large. There's lots of seating, and I loved the swings near the front entrance. It was pretty busy when we stopped in, but we were able to grab some barstools. They have a nice patio out front with plenty of tables. It's still a bit too hot to sit outside, but during the fall, I'm sure it's nice. This location is a great place to work or study as it isn't terribly loud in there. I wish they had a drive thru though. They have lots of merchandise including shirts, mugs, tumblers, candles, hats, and coffee. Summer Moon is definitely in my top 3 coffee shops. I love that Moon Milk/Moon Juice! read more

Just stopped in for a quick bevie. Went with the oat milk chai. It's a super chill vibe. Music was not too loud. It echos a little bit so when they got a quick rush, it was a tad loud. I LOVE THEIR COFFEE! I tried their coffee for the first time when I was visiting Austin and I am glad that they opened up locations in the Houston area. It's that oak-roasted coffee that makes their coffee unique and the moon milk. My husband and I have been buying their coffee beans these past few months. 1 bag of the velvet blaze is $15 which for us is reasonably priced. Today, I ordered their quarter coffee because the moon milk is sometimes too sweet for me and this one just had the perfect amount of sweetness. I loved going to summer moon when I visited ATX and super excited that they have one in friendswood! Seasonal flavors are always fun to come try! My favorite currently is the iced mint matcha moon with 1 espresso. My favorite winter drink was the chestnut praline, I believe that was the name. I have so many favorites over the length of my visits but I can't remember them all! I always grab a pastry of some sort....the espresso scone is by far my favorite! They will warm up your pastries as well which is even better. Plenty of space for groups or individual customers. It's always fun bringing my daughter because she loves the kids table by the window and picking out books to read. I want to apologize for the mess we always leave. I try to contain it into one spot but kinda hard. I've noted in previous reviews about Summer Moon before (#1) and I am genuinely delighted each time I come across one. I normally have to be in the right mood for coffee, but Summer Moon makes it easy. When in doubt, choose anything with moon milk in it. I realize that all Summer Moon locations design their interiors well, but I really like what they've done here in Friendswood. They have a legit outdoor patio setup, along with plenty of contemporary furniture and a super cozy feel. I like their WiFi and natural lighting and appreciate how clean everything seems to be (including the bathrooms!). Whether it's an autumn moon or my current favorite, matcha moon, there is no shortage of good stuff here. Even their cold brew with moon milk is straight fire. Always take a look at their seasonal offerings and see if it's worth a try. Whether it's drip coffee or one of their fun seasonal speciale, this is a fun place to drink away with good company or an intense remote working session. I've been patiently waiting for Summer Moon Friendswood to open for so long now! We made it to the grand opening, and we are so pleased to see how amazing this location has come together. I've been to the Austin and other Houston locations, but to have a summer moon this close to home is a dream come true! I come here weekly, and every visit is perfect. My go to order here is either a quarter moon latte, lavender latte, or depending on my mood, one of their seasonal drinks. I also love their jalapeno sausage kolaches. But honestly, you can't go wrong with anything here. This location is also a great place to study or get work done. Finally, Summer Moon has arrived in our neck of the woods. Summer Moon was originally started in Austin, TX. We discovered it in 2014 and have been fans since then. First, let's talk coffee. The wood-fired coffee beans make their coffee stand out from other coffee houses. They also have their own special creamer named moon milk. You can get a full moon (the sweetest), a 1/2 moon (most common), or a 1/4 moon (not too sweet and my personal favorite). They also sell multiple flavors of coffee for you to enjoy at home. You can purchase whole bean, ground, or k-cups. The most common (and our favorite) is Velvet Blaze. As far as decor goes, every Summer Moon is different. We love the decor and layout of the Friendswood location. They have both small and large tables for you to sit at and surf the Internet. They also have a few cozy chairs and two rattan swinging chairs closer to the entrance. Outdoor seating is also available. Bottom line - A fantastic coffee shop that is based in Texas, not Seattle. Excited to have a fresh coffee shop open in Friendswood! South Houston has such a lack for cool places to study & get work done, I'm glad Summer Moon is now here to add to the rotation! It was so busy when we visited on a Monday morning. The shop is spacious with tons of tables and plenty of seating. There's also a bar area to sit at. It's definitely a lot more space than the local Starbucks and has better ventilation than Dunn Bros. Ordered the half moon latte, vanilla glacier & Java glacier. Prices are fair, equivalent to Starbucks or any other hipster coffee spot. - Half Moon Latte: YUM. Would get again! I don't like super sweet coffee and this was just the perfect amount of sweetness. I don't think I could've handled a summer moon latte (full sweetness). The half moon latte is half of their creamer & skim milk. - Java Glacier: also super sweet! But a delicious treat. - Vanilla glacier: This was also pretty yummy but not something I'd get again. I definitely still fell asleep after drinking almost all the half moon latte so don't expect a ton of caffeine! Staff was pretty young & they all look pretty overwhelmed with the crowds but I'm sure it's a growing pain they will overcome once they're open for longer. We will return! read more

I used to love Summer Moon! We've stopped coming here due to the service, specifically attitude from the staff/no urgency, how long our drinks take and the quality of our drinks. Last couple of times, I had to wait incredibly long for my drink (about 30 mins). A friend of mine has also stopped getting her morning coffee here due to it taking about 20-30 mins (even when she places an online order ahead of time). The coffee quality is comparable to Pearland Coffee Roasters which is further from our house, but the service is so much better there! We have given Summer Moon a couple of more chances thinking that maybe they are just having an off day, but we continue to be disappointed. read more

Because Summer Moon continues to be one of the best coffee shops I've found. --- --- --- We have a Summer Moon about 20-25 minutes from us in Conroe that my wife treks to twice a week because she likes it that much. So when visiting my parents in Friendswood, the 7-8 minute drive to this location made us both very jealous. I think their black nitro is one of the best I've found. It's very smooth and without any of the noisy, fruity flavors getting in the way of what a nitro should taste like. On a 1-10 scale, it's pretty much a 9. I've probably only had 2-3 others in my life that I liked more. And what this location has that Friendswood doesn't are kolaches! I wasn't even hungry, but I ordered one just to try it and it was great. My wife said she's glad they don't have as many food options in Conroe because she'd be tempted to order a bunch of it during each visit. My wife loves the moon milk and always orders a half winter moon latte. She's probably more addicted to those than any other substance on this Earth. The ambience alone is worth the visit. Each one is uniquely decorated but all are so cute! The inside of this one is adorable with a variety of merchandise you can purchase in addition to your bags of coffee and ready to order drinks.
