We contacted Summer shortly before our baby was born last September so we could coordinate a time to get outdoor family photos with our 2 year old and newborn. She was flexible with times considering we didn't know when the baby was born, and was excited to shoot outside. We met her at a park when our daughter was 5 days old. She had great ideas as to how to pose our little one, and how to capture the beauty of the oak trees, paths, leaves on the ground, rocks, etc. She was so patient, too, considering our 2 year old wasn't in the best of moods. I used Summer Rae for our Wedding about 5 years ago and to this day I still think about the lack of bride and groom photos we received. Let me start by saying Summer is very sweet and I believe she was new to photography at the time. I thought we were getting a good deal and decided to give her a try after being referred to her by our wedding coordinator. Soon after our wedding began I noticed her lack of assertiveness and direction and she looked around as if she was already defeated before the night began. The most frustrating part was that I had to create the "flow" and organization of photos on my own wedding day. This should NOT be the job of the bride. I went into this trusting my photographer and not thinking I had to worry about my photos. I even made a document of who I wanted in the photos and examples of photos I wanted. Instead of enjoying the pictures I was busy making sure we got everyone in the right place and in the right group after the ceremony. Since I had spent so much time with that, I barely got any good pictures with my husband since we did not do a "first look." My father in law had requested a picture with his son (my husband) and Summer said she was busy doing Groomsmen photos....well, because she didn't take advantage of that photo opportunity, they did not get ONE picture together, a father and son should have had at least ONE photo together of the wedding. Many of pictures turned out great, but all in all my biggest regret was not paying for a more experienced photographer. After the wedding we reached out to Summer for some type of compensation. She refused to refund us any of the cost and instead offered us another photo shoot. However that would have cost us MORE money to rent the tux again, pay for hair & makeup, get my dress clean, etc. I truly hope Summer has improved over the years. Looks like she does very well in private setting- portraits, family photos, etc. but a 150+ person wedding seemed to be too overwhelming for her at that time. I do hope with more experience over the years she has gotten better in that setting. read more

We had a fantastic experience getting family photos done with Summer a few weeks ago. My daughter just turned one and so we wanted some photos taken to mark the occasion. We had them taken in the evening at the beach, and they came out really nicely. Summer was always quick to respond to emails and text messages, and she got the photos back to us really quickly.
