DuBarry's ponds are stocked with fish by Indiana DNR. There is a bathroom facility, though it's not always available. The park is located in a residential area and is utilized fairly well. When I worked for a youth mentoring agency, we would often meet some of our youths in this park. There's a decent shelter with picnic tables and a nicely done, short walking trail that I consider wheelchair friendly. DuBarry now has 3 pickleball courts, though there are no nets or backstops (there are posts for a net - which means if you have the net you could easily use it here). In 2024, a funding for a new splash pad was noted. DuBarry has seen sporadic issues with violence - most noteworthy a double killing of two teenagers in 2022 - Isaiah Jackson and Da'vonta White (ages 15, 14). While I think that's worth mentioning, I've never felt unsafe in the area and I have multiple friends who regularly visit and use the trail at this park without any concerns.

They have a small picnic shelter with some picnic tables under it. There is also a small bathroom facility that was locked when I was there. You will find 2 very nice full basketball courts. The rims are lower than regulation, which I am cool with and the court is nice and smooth. The park also has a huge field with uprights on both ends, so you can host football games, soccer games, play catch, work out, fly a kit or do other field activities. There are also a few other pockets of green space around the park to do activities as well. There is decent paved walkways around the park hat can be used for jogging or walking. The park also features a small lake. That was very popular with neighborhood fishermen. The park is somewhat well maintained but there is pockets of areas that are trashed. The parking lot had a lot of burned candles and disposed food containers. There is also an excessive amount of goose poop all over the park and especially under the covered shelter and on the paved walkway. There are 4 decent small tennis courts there and they would be very nice if they had nets. There are benches behind the courts and on the basketball court's baseline. The highlight of the park has to be its playground. It has two colorful large jungle gyms with slides and rock climbing walls. There is also a unity teeter tunnel see-saw, a bank of traditional swings, some little kid cars, a ski like thing, a mulitspinner carousel, a forest giraffe and stand & spin. The play area is lined with wood chips and the equipment is in good repair. This park has recently been in the news and has had its safety called into question. The candles in the parking lot, are from what I am assuming was the vigil held there. But that was 2 months ago. Anyway, I felt pretty safe while I was there, but I was not there long. This is a nice park. I think the issue that it had in March is an outlier. Outside of people fishing, I was the only one at the park. I had it all to myself. If you can get past the security issues, it is a nice park and definitely worth a visit.

The park dates back to 1921 when 40 of its 64 acres were donated to the City by Wilmer and Edna Christian in memory of Wilmar's mother. The park is a bit aged, but has everything I look for in a park. It is also conveniently located right off of the Pleasant Run Trail. The park has three distinct sections and a ton of parking available between its 4 lots and street parking. The park can be accessed from many different ways. One area of the park, near the front, has a couple of baseball fields that have definitely seen better days. It is pretty worn and not well maintained. Across the street at the main part of the park is a couple of ball fields that are in even worse condition than the ones in the baseball complex across the street. There is a lot of green space in this section as well, that is suitable for activities such as playing catch, throwing a freesbee, a soccer game, a football game or having a picnic. You will find three tennis courts in the section as well. They are a bit rough, but would still work if you want a quick match. There is a shelter with picnic tables under it and grills just out side of it. The shelter can be rented and are in fair shape. It has remnants of parties past still there. Streamers were all over it. I almost thought it was police tape. There are two full basketball courts that are very nice. I almost had to lace them up and throw a few down. Other amenities in the area include a nice splash pad and playground. The splash pad has benches around its perimeter to sit. The playground is on a bed of wood chips and has some relatively new equipment that includes a bank of traditional/toddler swings, a pyramid net climber, and a huge jungle gym with a rock climbing wall, pebble bridge, a web net climber, a bunch of slides, bridges, monkey bars, and a bongo. It is a very nice jungle gym. I was impressed. The large building that you see in this section is the family center. I do not know if it is still operating (But I believe it is). It was closed while I was there. This is the section that has the largest of the park's parking lots (there are 2 lots in this section). The third section has a decent football field, with goal post on each end. It appears well maintained. This section also has a shelter with picnic tables under it. It is better than the shelter in the other section but could still use some love. It can also be rented. You will find a another playground in this section. It has much older equipment. It has a smaller jungle gym with monkey bars, parallel bars, bridges, tunnels and a few slides, a bank of toddler swings, a bank of traditional swings, old school monkey bars, parallel bars and big blue arch that I have no idea what it is. This is a hidden gem. It offers a ton to do. I did not however, find a restroom facility though. It is relatively well maintained, even though I saw a lot of trash on the grounds near the shelter. It has a paved trail through it that can be linked with the adjoining Pleasant Run Trail to give you a nice long hike. Yes, some of the park could use some upgrades, but it still works well. This is a destination park that I highly recommend checking out. You could easily spend a half day or more here, especially during the summer.

And, it was riddled with litter (not too bad, but consistent); but, it appears to be a very popular park, so the amount I saw want excessive for the traffic. Maybe more trash bins would help. There are bleachers at which to sit, and you can just sit and watch, and talk or not talk, depending on whether you're alone or sitting with someone who understands the value of talking and not talking. I'm usually visiting parks with my children, but this time, I did not. How luxurious to enjoy a park as an adult without children! Ingrained habits die hard, though, and I still made a beeline for the playground to check it out. The playground at Craig Park has some fun and somewhat modern equipment: multiple slides, traditional swings, things to climb. The playground area has wood chips on the ground. There's also a surprising amount of shade on the playground because of all of the trees around the area. Shade is so nice and kind of rare in a playground! Near the playground, there's a gaga ball court, pickleball courts and the aforementioned tennis courts. If you walk a little ways away from the playground -- just follow the paved trail -- you'll find a few different spots with fun things to play on along the way. This isn't the most modern park, but it's a nice and peaceful place in Greenwood to spend some time.

It has a decent sized private parking lot, a basketball court, a baseball field, a covered pavilion, restrooms, a playground and 4 soccer fields. The park is relatively well maintained. In other words, it is ok. It currently has some construction going on in the front by the parking lot. The basketball court is very in bad shape. It appears to have had some patch work done which has since come apart. It looks really bad, but is playable. The baseball field was very muddy, probably due to the park's poor drainage. The park's covered pavilion is co-located with restroom facilities and has picnic tables under it. There are grills right outside the pavilion. The pavilion is available for rent. The soccer fields are the best maintained aspect of the park and appears to be used as part of a youth rec league. The playground is relatively small and consists of a jungle gym with slides. there is also only one toddler swing. The play area's ground was covered in wood chips and dirt. The park has a small paved walkway that can be used to run or jog up and down. The park is not as popular as many other area parks, outside of recreation baseball/softball and soccer. It also has some major drainage issues, after some rain. Currently, it is not very quiet either, since they have a lot of construction going on.

Since the park is located next to an elementary school, it appears to have a convenient location for school activities and access to some parking on the east side. Other amenities include a shelter with picnic tables and restrooms, a single grill for charcoal, playground equipment and lots of overhead lights for the fields. However, the park has not had the benefits of access and design. The west side of the park has a large (and convenient) parking lot which has a single access road from the neighborhood on the west edge of the park. If you go when there is not an event, getting in and out isn't that difficult. But if there is a soccer league playing and lots of folks try leaving at the same time, this can become a real bottleneck. Also, the neighborhood itself is one designed with lots of curving roads, so unless you are familiar with the side streets, it can be quite challenging to find. (The best way is to come from Meridian Street to Park Drive and follow Park Drive to the lot. Note that Meridian is only accessible from County Line Road to the north or Main Street to the south.) Another problem is improper drainage. During my visit, the playgrounds and the walkways had numerous puddles deep enough to thoroughly soak your feet. I understand that building in lots of drainage is an expensive proposition, but be aware that if you stop by after a rainy day, you may have limited access to the equipment. Review #505

The park is named after George Rhodius Jr, the son of German immigrants that left an endowment to the Parks Department after his death in 1909. The park has two playgrounds, located on opposite ends of the park. The smaller one is by the parking lot and has an accessible jungle gym with slides, a set of traditional swings and a picnic table. This area is lined with wood chips. The other playground area, that is near the school is larger and the better of the two. It is lined with plastic tiles and has a large set of traditional swings there. There is a huge jungle gym with a bunch of bridges and a few slides. There is also a musical gazebo that kids can play with some music making instruments. It is nothing really special though. So, don't set you hopes too high on this one. The park has about 4 baseball diamonds that have seen better days. The fields are not well maintained and could probably only serve as a field for a preschoolers pick up game. It is such a large and spread out park that there is green space available where you can do field sports such as soccer or football, play catch, fly a kite, or have a picnic. There are three decent tennis courts that are lighted at the park and a field hockey court right next to them. The park also has two shelters with a bunch of picnic tables under them, but I did not see any grills nearby. The park is one of the few Indianapolis parks that has a pool. I can during the off season when it was also packed away for the winter, but it looks like a decent complex. The pool is housed in the park's family center and you can find a fitness center, youth game room, large community room, a dance studio, arts and crafts area, conference room, full kitchen a sensory room and a gym. There is a decent paved trail that goes around the park and is between a mile and a half mile. It can be used for running, walking, biking, or just strolling. This is a decent old school park. It has a lot to offer and does not get as packed as other parks. Personally, I am more of a modern playground type of guy, but this still works. There are much worst parks that you can visit.

Great place to take the kids to have a little fun and burn energy. I did have to redirect a stray little person back into the play area as the parking lot is right at the entrance. I think they need some sort of safety gate to enter/exit so small kids cannot easily exit the play area if their adult chaperone is not as attentive.

The play area is on old wood chips and is completely fenced in and has a small kid area to the right, called the Tot Lot, that consists of a mock wooden Indy car and motorcycle, a bank of toddler/ADA swings, a sand pit, a small wooden jungle gym with slides, a bench and a picnic table. The other side of the play area is for bigger kids and consists of monkey rings, rock climbing walls, a huge wooden jungle gym with slides and a bridge, big tires, a mock wooden ship, a wooden suspended pebble bridge, a net bridge, a teetering floor, a tire swing, and a bank of ADA and traditional swings. You will also see an open space in the area in the front right. The playground equipment appears a bit aged and weathered, but is well maintained. The park also has a shelter behind it located outside of the fence with picnic tables under it and a grill outside of it. There is also a lone picnic table sitting right outside the front entrance of the play area. You will find the park across the street from the Central Indiana Girl Scouts Headquarters and next to Ben Davis High School's run-down baseball complex. I should also note that the playground is right down the street from the Indiana Women's prison (only separated by the baseball complex) and they are within sight of each other. I do not see that as being a major issue as the inmates are detained behind a fence and have other issues to worry about than a playground. I like this spot. This is a cute little playground, but not a destination spot by any means. It is a place that you hit if you live nearby or are in the area. I does not get a lot of traffic, which I believe is primarily due to its location. It is a nice playground though and your littles will like it a lot.

I just parked at the community center and walked over. This park is two acres and is in a bad location. It is at the intersection of a busy street and a train track. It can get very loud there. The central point of the park is the gazebo, which can be rented for events. There are also a few park benches around the gazebo and a memorial to Genevieve "Genny" Worsham, a former Greenwood secretary and treasurer that passed away in 2008, off to the side. Additionally there is a path leading from the entrance to the gazebo that is lined with colorful tiles, which are neat. I did not spend too much time at this small park and given its location, I did not find it very relaxing or soothing. They is not much to do at this park outside of sitting on one of the benches and reflecting.

A paved pathway from the west end to the gazebo is lined with small mosaic tiles. A handful of benches surround the gazebo. Outside the paved area of the gazebo, a ring of shrubbery is set a few feet beyond. A small brick half wall runs along the north side of the park acting as a shield to the street.
