Indy 11 has been on my list of things to do because I love attending sporting events in person! Saturday night was the perfect night to attend! There is nothing like going to a sporting event with all the energy and excitement! Indy 11 fans did not disappoint! They love their team! Played music and cheered them on the whole game! Smoke bombs when team scored! I'm an animal lover so getting to meet their mascot in person was a plus! They walk around greeting fans and love the attention they get! They are well behaved so that makes them even more lovable! If you don't grab a bite to eat before the game, there are plenty of food trucks to choose from. I recommend seeing an Indy 11 game whether you like Soccer or not. It's a great way to spend the evening with friends and/or family. read more

Highly recommend! This was a great family day out! The game itself was well organized, and easy to access! Parking across the street, made it really convenient. The family enjoyed the crowd so much, made the game even more fun! It was nice to have some areas where you can stand and move around. All the food trucks were nice too, I enjoyed Ben's pretzels. I have to be honest. When I heard that Indy was getting a professional soccer team, I was more than a little skeptical. I honestly couldn't imagine Indy supporting it on a seriously sustainable level. I'm glad to have been proven wrong. The Indy Eleven has prospered here in Indy. They started out as members of the North American Soccer League before moving over to the United Soccer League (now called USL Championship). They're led by Keystone Group CEO Ersal Ozdemir. They started here in Indy in 2013 and played their first game at IUPUI's Michael A. Carroll Stadium on April 12, 2014 (it was a 1-1 draw with the Carolina Railhawks. Every home game was a sell-out that first year. I admit it. I was stunned but thrilled. From the beginning, Ozdemir sought to have a team that not only played excellent soccer but represented Indiana well. They want to build strong connections to fans and to work with local soccer groups (adults and kids). Have you ever wondered where the name came from? I did. It came from the 11th Regiment of Indiana Volunteers that fought for the Union Army during the Civil War. They fought under Lew Wallace. Again, it was really desired to create a team that represents Indiana and Indiana's history. Eleven also represents the 11 players, of course. The checkered background on the logo feels like a racing tip of the hat, but it really references that group of diehard Eleven supporters called the Brickyard Battalion. The color scheme and star echo that of Indianapolis's civic flag. Like most local teams, The Eleven have a variety of themed nights (some more successful than others). They work to create a positive fan experience and for the most part really succeed. The Indy Eleven picked up a Spring Season Championship in 2016 and by 2017 were announcing a bid to bring Major League Soccer here to Indy. In 2019, the Indiana state legislature moved forward to support plans for a multi-purpose facility that would also be a professional stadium. As I consider season tickets for the next season (once the pandemic finally calms down), I'm reflecting on past experiences that were fun, family friendly, well organized, and offered up terrific soccer. I may have been surprised that Indy so eagerly embraced the Eleven, but I'm thrilled its happened and I look forward to Indy falling more and more in love with its soccer team. read more

This is the stupidest layout of a stadium I have ever been to and that is saying something having attended events in stadiums all over Europe, Africa, the Middle East, Asia and Latin America. Chalk one more thing up to the accepted mediocrity of the city. Get tickets to a game and guess what, you can't even see one of the goals or box from the assigned seat. They've put up two tents and a beer stand blocking 100% of the view and action. What a crock of crap. Wasted gas money, time and an evening we could have done something else. I definitely will never come down again. We left at the half. Not sure why we stayed that long. Maybe it was to hear everyone else complain too. We took our daughter to the Indy Eleven game last evening and were so impressed with the game, staff, and how they have made the stadium COVID friendly. I could see it being a completely different scene when the universe opens back up but, in the meantime... it was a blast. My Husband snagged a couple beers, my daughter had the nachos and my son had the popcorn. I was a little bummed to see the popcorn may contain Yellow#5. Its the year 2020 folks let's get some healthier options for our kids. Parking lot was easily accessible and again once COVID is done I am sure the parking lot will be more entertaining. I have never been a soccer fan until Indy Eleven. If you want the true soccer hooligan experience, I suggest sitting in the Brickyard Battalion, where chanting occurs throughout the game, a band plays, and a lot of chaos (but in a good way). This is not the best choice for families but there are plenty of other seats for a family friendly event. Ticket prices are affordable for most seats. My husband and I have been season tickets holders for the past 5 years. I was excited when Indy Eleven announced the move to Lucas Oil Stadium as it could be very hot sitting outside for games. However, in the extreme heat of July, with the roof open, it was almost unbearable. Definitely a lesson learned...dress for the outside weather. read more

It's always a summer tradition to go to at least one Indy Eleven game during the season. It's great that Indy has this soccer team. (Notice how I'm not going into too much detail cause I'm not too familiar with the sport.) Just like any other sports-related activity, they have your big screen for viewing, your mediocre half-time show including a game, local craft brews, and chain-y food options. Luckily, parking is never too much of an issue as there are ample parking lots and garages near by thanks to IUPUI and street parking. The ticketing entrance process is fairly easy; you'll get your bags checked, as a heads up. The reason for the 4 stars instead of 5 stars is my most recent visit: I went for the Pride Night. I was expecting a lot of themed commentary, rainbow flags around the stadium, etc. What did we get? A slide that would randomly pop up on the big screen every now and then stating that Pride Night was on the certain date. Honestly? I would've rather just given the donation to IYG to the group instead of paying for the ticket. Yes, the game was fun, but if you're going to have a themed night, at least go all out and get into the theme. I believe the entire time, the commentator stated that it was pride night once....if that. Even the halftime show wasn't pride themed. Maybe have the group (i.e. IYG) speak during the halftime show to explain their organization, etc.? Just a suggestion. All in all, it's a great summer tradition to go to one of the games, but their themed nights could really use some work. read more

Raise a ruckus in the Brickyard Battalion. That's where all the cool kids stand. I'm not a big soccer fan (my boyfriend is), but I've grown to love these games. They've grown on me so much that I now join in the chant "shoot him like a horse!" when a player fakes an injury. Before, I felt it was insensitive. Now, I know they're being babies. The Brickyard Battalion section is where they set off the fireworks/celebratory smoke, start the chants, and gather all the die-hard fans. To sit in the section, I recommend buying a $19 ticket that includes 2 beers. With your drink tickets, choose from four types of beer. I go for the Battalion American Pale Ale by People's Brewing Company. My boyfriend springs for the IPA. Plenty of food to satisfy your munchies. Hot dogs, burgers, popcorn, and pizza. Obviously, a little expensive. Get to the game early to enjoy tailgating in an IUPUI parking lot across the street from the west end of the field. Sometimes the team's owner walks around the festivities giving free high-fives and hugs. So gooo! Wear some red and blue, watch the sun go down, and chant your heart out. read more

IMHO the seats behind the goal with the Battalion are the cheapest and also the most entertaining place in the stadium. The crowd can be a little crude and unwashed, but by and large you should be swept up with the enthusiasm of the fandom on offer. This past weekend I went to my first ever soccer game, and I'm so happy it was an Indy Eleven one! Even better.. they won! We tailgated before the game, grilling out and watching the other fans in the parking lot playing soccer and having a good time. Ian B knows how to tailgate in style, and had the grill going, the tent up, and the chairs out when we arrived (a little late). The parking lot attendants are a bit picky, so make sure you are in one space and only one space... we had to move our tent and a grill that was already smoking hot and my offer to pay for the second space was met with a "I don't make the rules" speech from some guy on a golf cart. Ian B also knows how to pick some damn good seats. We were in the second row with a clear view of the entire field and had the aroma of freshly made waffle cones drifting through the air. Only two of us ended up with ice cream.. and of course one of them was me. An Indy Eleven is a great night out in Indianapolis. Watching the sun set over the field as you cheer on the players with a stadium full of people is an awesomely local way to spend an evening with friends! read more

Indianapolis has its first professional soccer team on the field as of 2014. The Indy Eleven debuted their first season on the campus of I.U.P.U.I. and was welcomed by an overwhelming crowd. Managed by former Chicago Fire's Peter Wilt, this team is on its way to slide itself into the Indianapolis sports scene. I gotta say that the Battalion section makes the games a ton of fun. You'll quickly leave with the rhythm of the "C'mon you boys in blue!" in your head along with the other energetic shouts synchronized by a completely dedicated fan base. Don't sit in the Battalion section unless you're ready to leave with a new hair color or be annoyed by complete fun (Insert note to see my pic). While the performance of the first season was less than expected, cheering on a mix of talented soccer players from all over the world united with one goal- to win- kept me in the game, leaning on my seat, yelling at the wrong calls, and standing up to flash my Indy Eleven scarf with pride when the ball met the net--- GOAL! Parking is a breeze. Cheap and housed in a garage on the campus with less than a block to the field. Or, you can tailgate in an open lot with family and friends. Keep in mind that most of the seating is bleacher style and lack backs. Upgrade and you'll sit closer to the field to see the likes of Smart, Pinada, Frias, Nicht and back support is included when you do. Short lines at the taps but you won't be overly impressed by the snacks in the shack. I've been giving out 5 stars left and right but Indy Eleven deserves the hell out of this one! Have a professional soccer team for the city has been fantastic. We have enjoyed the game from the stands, crazy stands, box, and even the owner's box, and each experience has been fantastic! The IUPUI stadium is great for now but the fan base is growing more and more and I hope they can get their own place soon! The fans behind the goal are hilarious and loyal until the end of each game. The programs sport the lyrics to all the songs they sing throughout the 90 minutes and each score renders some blue and red smoke in the stands, so fun! The boxes are obviously awesome. Indoor/outdoor seating with great food and drinks. My hubs got a jersey this last visit and while it was about $90, it's great quality and looks just like the teams. Great food stands, families enjoying the night, and an awesome team... love it! read more

You're bound to have a great time at an indy eleven match. IUPUI has done a great job allowing the team to use their facilities and it makes a great gameday experience. Fans are very welcoming and are always up to have a great time with cheering, tailgating and just all around shenanigans. it's all about having a good time. If you're a family with young children i'd suggest not sitting in the BYB, maybe a bit rowdy and loud (and sometimes profane) but there's not a bad seat in the house (the mike). Feel free to learn chants, participate in tailgates and just get involved. Most fun i've ever had at a sporting event. Great prices as well. We had a great time at our first Indy Eleven game a few weeks ago. I had bought tickets for my husband's birthday for the game against San Antonio. They did lose, but we still had a great time. Being as it was for a special event, I splurged and bought premium tickets. They were very close to the field and provided excellent views. However, the only reason they lost a star was right here. When I selected the seats from the map online, it was very confusing and it would appear the map is backwards from the orientation it appeared. As such, we were a bit further away than I would have liked. Oh well, still good seats. The stadium was much nicer than I had expected, being as it's at IUPUI. I am still bummed they're not getting that fancy new stadium that was proposed, but this is definitely still adequate at this point. They had plenty of places to grab a drink or a light snack. The Coors Light was $7, which for a sporting event is really not bad. Really a fun atmosphere and a great time all around. We'll definitely be going to more games. read more

The Brickyard Battalion is like transporting yourself to the crazy college student section your school never had. Unending chants, organized signs, smoke bombs, kazoos. Win or lose you are in for a show. What I love most about the Indy 11 fans is the sense of camaraderie, whether it's your first game or your eleventh. This carries over the away games as well; often a local bar (usually Chatmans pub) will host a huge viewing party. Normally non-soccer fans biggest concern for watching a game is that it's 90 minutes of 1 or 2 goals scored, but when you are in the active crowd the time flies by. Though there have been a few too crazy wild nights with objects being thrown onto the field, they have firmly reestablished the boundaries so there is no more wobbly standing on top of the bleacher seats and your allowed to have bottles in the section again. The team is incredible thankful to the crowd as well, at the end of each game they come shake the hands of the battalion to show their appreciation.
