Summerset is nice looking facility with friendly care givers but some inadequate policies seem oblivious to patient care and decency. Staff frequently pass thru alarmed doors and because of various inadequate reasons the alarms on these doors go off for long periods of time, 15 minutes is common even after notifying the front desk. With minimal effort these alarms can be shut off within a minute or two, all the staff member has to do is use their radio and tell the front desk to silence the alarm. I have made Summerset aware of the issue and I hope they will address it along with intermittent long response times. I suggest inquiring if these issues have been remedies before committing a loved one here. I am receptive to raising Summersets rating if these things are addressed. We will see read more

Our experience was with the memory care side, I can not speak for the assisted living. I would not ever recommend putting a family member here. As a dementia patient they are expected to be able to live independently. Our senior was really not able to get himself to meals and did need more observation and interaction. These memory care patients are left to wander, get to meals and care for themselves in their rooms. Our senior managed to wander all the way to Walmart where he fell and was found by a person that called the home thinking he might be from there. Staff did not report incident nor get a medical evaluation for our senior. He was put to bed fully dressed where he later was found soaking wet and terrified. He was not even put to bed properly or examined. However every time he fell IN the facility they had him transported to the hospital. They repeatedly tell you they are not a medical facility and even getting baby aspirin to patient was a major process. Seems very understaffed but when you walk through past offices admin are all chatting away. Minimal interactions with patients. If you love you senior find somewhere else. This was a very sad experience and it was such a relief to move our senior to a safer more caring facility. read more

Moms are special and need special care! We moved my mom into Memory Care at Summerset and the care she got was the best I could ever ask for. We carefully watched over her to make sure she was well taken care of and found everyone treated her with dignity and respect. She claimed she felt like a queen. When she started to fail, everyone stepped up and gave her such great care. The staff was always available to answer questions, take care of requests and to check on my mom when needed. From maintenance to administration, everyone was helpful. I can't tell you how thankful I was to find such a place for the last phase of my mom's life. Summerset in Lincoln has been a wonderful location for my 89 year old father. The staff is professional and very caring. They will do whatever needs to be done to make my dad feel safe and comfortable. The facility is bright, cheery and clean. I would highly recommend this facility. read more
