The management and maintenance man tried blaming it on her. The maintenance man told her to place her used paper in the garbage can. Come to find out the maintenance man had turned the waterflow down on the toilets. His own words were he thought the pressure was to high. They feed their residents over cooked chicken nuggets, not nutrious meals. My mom wears a pendant to press for help when she falls. She fell and laid on the floor for over half an hour. When she broke a glass lamp she requested help to clean it up. They picked up the large pieces and put them in a box and left the box on the floor. They didn't even sweep up the shards of glass. When she signed up we clarified that she would be able to go places and on trips. The director said it wouldn't be a problem. Come to findout that's not true. The director had her moved to lockdown. She said it was because my mom was getting into Uber cars. I couldn't take my mother to an appointment so i told her to go ask the lady at the reception desk to help her book a ride. She took a taxi to her appointment and returned to the facility. They will tell you anything to get you to sign up. Once you have signed they will nickel and dime you for everything. She moved in last July. We were sent a letter to increase her rent in January. We complained and they ended up not increasing the rent. We were just sent another letter saying if the residents wanted to keep tv services they will have to pay $50.00 a month. When you sign the contract they tell you it's included. This is the only entertainment for some of the residents who are bed bound. Please keep looking. Don't place your loved one here. My brother and I are trying to get our mom out. The facility is making it impossible.

We actually tried to place my mother inlaw here first but it was full. Most of the time there is a waiting list I get in. I absolutely loved this place & their caring staff & the director (Wilma). My mother inlaw would comment on how nice it was. They are kind and patient and treat their residents with respect and dignity. My mother inlaw would comment on how nice it was. It feels more like home & family than a care home. It houses a small group of residents. Staff cooks them breakfast in the mornings, make their snacks and treats. A lot of home baking. Lunch and dinner come from The Villa (one of their care homes near by). Residents can participate in the crafts they do or watch. They have a couple of Canaries the residence enjoy. There is TV in the open living space with recliners for them to enjoy. Some rooms are small (perfect size for twin bed) others are a little bigger. There are private and shared rooms. They like to encourage residents to be out and socializing. They have a lovely patio outside. The facility is nestled in a nice quiet neighborhood. My mother inlaw passed away here and staff and hospice we very kind and compassionate to the very end. I can't express how thankful we were to find this place. I could sleep at night knowing she was being well cared for.

I spend quite a bit of time at Oakmont of Westpark through my work, and it has become one of my…read morefavorite senior living communities to visit. The property itself is beautiful and located in a really nice area of Roseville. Everything feels modern, upscale, and well maintained, and the inside is just as impressive -- high ceilings, lots of natural light, beautiful common areas, and that elegant feel that Oakmont communities are known for. But what really stands out to me about Westpark is the people. There is such a friendly, welcoming atmosphere throughout the entire building. Barbara, the Executive Director, is fantastic. Her office is right near the front entrance, and I constantly see her out talking with residents, families, staff, and people coming through the building. She is very accessible and genuinely seems to know what is happening throughout her community. The same goes for Innes and Michael in the sales department. Their office is also right up front, and they're always interacting with residents, families, and staff and saying hello to people as they come and go. Ghenet, the Memory Care Director, is another person who has really stood out to me. It's obvious from talking with her that she genuinely cares about the residents in memory care and their families. That attitude seems to carry throughout the entire staff. Whether it's the care team, dining staff, maintenance, or anyone else I pass in the hallways, people make eye contact, smile, and say hello. There's never a shortage of friendly faces, and it gives the community a very warm, almost family-like atmosphere. I'm not a resident or someone looking for a place for a family member -- I'm a contractor who does quite a bit of work in senior living communities, so I get to see these places from a different perspective. I always enjoy the days I get to work at an Oakmont community, and I tell people all the time that Oakmont is one of my favorite senior living organizations to work with. Oakmont of Westpark absolutely lives up to that reputation. And one last thing -- while I haven't personally eaten there, I've heard from plenty of people that the food is really good too!

Update- MIL lost 25 lbs in 1 month in memory care. 2 trips to the ER for extreme dehydration. No shower/bathing in a week. They acted like they didn't know what do or how to handle a dementia patient. They failed to be able to redirect her. Within an hour or two at her new place we were able to leave with peace of mind AND she had a shower, ate her entire lunch drank cranberry juice and had muffins for a snack. On top of it we have a group text set up and are receiving pictures and videos throughout the day. She's smiling again!
