Staff frequently pass thru alarmed doors and because of various inadequate reasons the alarms on these doors go off for long periods of time, 15 minutes is common even after notifying the front desk. With minimal effort these alarms can be shut off within a minute or two, all the staff member has to do is use their radio and tell the front desk to silence the alarm. I have made Summerset aware of the issue and I hope they will address it along with intermittent long response times. I suggest inquiring if these issues have been remedies before committing a loved one here. I am receptive to raising Summersets rating if these things are addressed. We will see

Even working a full-time position, I am able to have a perfect work-life balance. I enjoy our residents and their wonderful, involved families on a daily basis, I love our team of employees that work hard everyday and do it with smiles on their faces. It has been an amazing experience for me and one of the most rewarding jobs I have had.

While they are compliant with state staffing minimums (per Atria management), residents can be left unmonitored for significant periods of time, due to the high care level demands of this group of people, and the layout of this facility. (The main living area and the dining area are separated by an atrium, which impacts the line of site between the two areas.) Residents are regularly evaluated for their functional needs. This information is used for billing purposes only. It is NOT used to determine staffing levels. This is a missed opportunity. We have discussed this concern multiple times with Atria management.

Carrie had me all set up by the time I was discharged. Two angels, Linda and KK showed up and knew exactly what I needed. Both stayed the first day and then KK stayed with me every day after that.KK did all of my personal care, made meals, took me to medical appointments, kept track of my supplies. She is a ray of sunshine, always with a smile on her face. She assisted the RN who came in three times a week with my wound care. KK is a fast learner. Golden Years is definitely my go to for in home care. I refer them to everyone who asks me about in home care. They are the best. When you google Ansel Park Culinary a lovely produced video appears showing lovely dishes being brought out to residents. In the nearly 6 years my parent has lived at this location there have been at least 5 "chefs". The food is definitely not designed for older people. Definitely not enough protein! Search the Ansel Park Independent Living Culinary video on YouTube. It is a complete fabrication! There are no snacks available.. no yogurt parfaits.. etc. The Bistro has nothing available to residents. There are sodas available in the bistro for a cost.. nothing outside of the continental breakfast and 1 other meal per day are part of the monthly "rent". The corporate offices are located in Texas. The facilities in Rocklin are the only locations outside Texas and the fly over states in the middle of the country. The corporate people couldn't care less about the residents in California and it is clear! I have called on behalf of my parent several times! My family wanted out parent in another facility but they wanted to move to this location. At that time Melinda was the director. Firing her was a huge mistake! Since Melinda was fired there have been at least 3 "directors". Definitely look elsewhere and if you can eat several meals at the Ansel Park Independent Living facility before committing!
