I'm here for my daughter again because these guys are fantastic. First of all they were initially recommended to us by a doctor at the Stollery Hospital when she fractured her growth plate and we needed a physiotherapist who specialized in children. They were so gentle with her and made her feel comfortable and, best of all, it healed properly. I can back for myself when I broke my foot and again amazing treatment. The physiotherapist knew her stuff, asked the right questions, made me feel comfortable and in the end I can wear heals again! Now we are back again. And, now they have Rigs the physiotherapist dog with them. He works some kids to help them. We haven't used him but he greets everyone at the door and it's neat to see him in the office! The staff is just as friendly and as a bonus they are able to direct bill some companies if you have insurance. The location is just south of 91st Street and Ellerslie which means it is quite south but I would say it's worth it! Plus, there's free parking right out front. read more

It's been a long time since I had to avail myself of physiotherapy, and I needed a new recommendation. I asked my FB cohort if anyone had used physio at a place that was not co-located with chiropractic, acupuncture, cupping, and other quackery, and this location was recommended. WHEW! I could not find one online myself. I have only had online visits with the physiotherapist, Chris Holt, but they have been none the less useful for being virtual. The exercises recommended were directly in keeping with the diagnoses from the sports medicine physician I saw, and Chris is also helping me to monitor for another possible diagnosis that was mentioned. He shared with me the gold standard trial that informed this approach, and I couldn't be happier. If your past experiences with physio involved too much pain for you, I would also highly recommend this practice. It takes expertise to design challenge that will heal the affected area fast enough to allow you to maintain good motivation while not discouraging adherence via pain, and I would say that this level of expertise is definitely available at this practice. Since the clinic is sports-oriented, it makes for a perfect place if you are eager to return to a regular workout, whatever that looks like in the time of the COVID pandemic. They understand that at least one of the priorities you will have is engaging in sports activity, which helps to inform your recovery plan. I grew tired of asking my GP and rheumatologist when I could return to doing X and Y, and am much happier to have a sports medicine physician and physio who keep this as a priority for my recovery. read more

Didn't even know there was a specific site for physio for babies and children. Clean and tidy, staff are friendly and welcoming. Building not labeled so just keep a look out for a big square grey building right off of Parsons. Lots of parking in the back and on the main floor. Shoes must come off but they provide indoor slippers. Small but quaint waiting area with larger treatment area in the back. Private rooms are available and plenty of toys to keep the babes and tots distracted but comfortable. Great and knowledgeable staff! Thankful for the support they provided for my son! read more

After another Yelper recommended this place, (thanks Poonam!) I gave them a try and found all of my concerns resolved. 1- They bill to my insurance, by submitting for me online. 2- They have appointments after work hours, for me that's 7:30 at the latest available time. 3- The staff is very knowledgeable, I have full confidence in my therapists skill. 4- They are on the forefront of Physio technology, with ultrasound, hot / cold therapy, a wide range of exercises, etc. 5- They listen to you, and can really help. The more honest you are about how much it hurts, how many of the exercises you are actually doing, etc, all helps you in the end. It's all you. Wednesdays Amanda brings in Rigs, her dog, as part of pet therapy. He's super sweet, but if you're not into that, they'll schedule around that day. The environment is warm, music selection is pretty cool, playing softly in the background. I like being there. Seriously, don't pull a HansE and suffer through pain for months because you think it will get better on its own, it can get better faster and correctly if you know what you're doing, otherwise get some assistance and it will go much better. Done right, you'll see better results in strength, range of motion, flexibility etc. Or you can tough it out and develop a really healthy limp :P The choice, I suppose, is really yours and Summerside is a great place, just a block south of Ellerslie on 91st Street. read more

A couple of weeks ago, while shovelling the walk, I did that thing where I slipped on some ice and instead of just falling and cracking my skull, I did a serious pirouette combined with some jive dancin' that kept me from falling, but completely messed my back up. I'm talking about pain that stopped me dead everytime I turned a certain way. I've had this happen 3 other times in my life and previously I just stayed home and suffered and the pain went away in about a week. This time, the pain got worse and worse, so after a week I gave in and let my wife make a physio appointment for me. We chose Summerside because she goes there. I'm just going to come out and say it - these people worked a miracle on my back!!! They took a look and did some pokin' and probin', then hooked me up to a machine to zap it. But it was the instructions they gave me (ice it, lay a certain way, do specific stretches) that turned it around. I've never come from that painful a place to walking in such a short time. The facility and equipment looks new and the place is spotless and obviously kept up. The staff was professional (appointment started on time or a wee bit early) and very friendly. I had never visited a physio before so I was a bit nervous and had no idea what to expect but they made the whole experience painless (HA HA!). While I hope to never hurt my back this badly again, I now know the proper steps to get on the road to recovery sooner, and I won't hesistate to head to Summerside if I still need it. read more

I took a severe fall on a set of concrete stairs, and 6 months later, still had some issues with my right hand. Crystal was able to accommodate me last minute on a Saturday, and is BY FAR the best physio therapist I have ever had the pleasure of meeting in my 42 years of existence. After the first visit, my had was feeling significantly better, and upon my follow up visit, everything had finally returned to normal. The entire company is a pleasure to work with, Crystal was nothing short of fantastic, and the added bonus of Rigs, one of the owner's dogs, is a treat. I would highly recommend Summerside to anyone who is looking for a professional, comfortable and knowledgeable clinic to get you back on your feet. I herniated a disc in my back in august and when I was able to do Physio Amanda did a great evaluation and had me on a program to get me up and moving pain free.! Awesome facility, great staff. I used to go quite frequently as they have very good physiotherapists. However after years of going there without incident, I realized one day that I had doubled booked my physio appointment with something other appointment. When I called first thing in the morning to reschedule, I was rudely informed that this was unacceptable behavior and that I would have to pay some cancellation fee, I replied I'm not cancelling I just forgot I have another commitment and need to move it. The receptionist was SO rude indicating that I could not see my regular physiotherapist because she was booked - which appeared to be forever - from the way the receptionist was talking so I would have to see another. I said that's no problem fit me in when you can, I could also wait my turn too. She hung up after I took an appointment with another physiotherapist. After that appointment I never went back. With so many clinic's around with very good physiotherapists I don't need the hassle of incredibly rude receptionists its just not worth my time. read more
