Summit Bicycles Palo Alto CA Thur 3/30/23 © Picking up my bike! Ordered 1 year ago! Sunny blue fantastic skies! Lifetime complimentary tuneups! Long story short, I worked with Nick! Here's the thing, my brand/model is rare and so it's not on the floor, a special order I've waited for! Took nearly a year! It's a road bike. Here's the scoop, brand name is Cervélo. It's a Canadian manufacturer of racing & track bicycles headquartered right here in Santa Cruz, California! Go figure! Bikes engineered for you ~ is their motto! Cervélo has engineered innovative road and triathlon/time trial bikes since 1995. Whether you are a pro in the Tour de France, are taking on your first full distance triathlon, or simply enjoy riding on the weekends, Cervélo applies engineering, ambition, and passion to make a bike that is better for you. They didn't have the parts to make my bike! I've got mountain bike back in 2021 nearly 2 years ago, during pandemic, when all sorts of shortages prevented bike shops from keeping any kind of inventory on the floor. It was a combo of spiking interest in outdoor sports, surge in biking and manufacturing problems. Took me 2 years back then to locate one model at Scott's Valley CycleSport! Yeah I searched high and low! At that time in June of 2021, found one & only place with inventory, between San Francisco to Carmel, in two years. Fast forward to today! This road Cervélo wasn't & isn't available anywhere. 'Cause I got mine directly, order pickup at Summit Bicycles in Palo Alto, and that's that! Happy trails! *I guess you're just what I needed I needed someone to feed! I guess you're just what I needed I needed someone to bleed! Yeah, yeah, so bleed me! First big hit from the Boston-based The Cars! Sung by bass player Benjamin Orr! A great shop. A wonderful selection of bikes, tires, tools and accessories. Nick (best name to have) was amazing and very helpful. We dove down a deep rabbit hole with tires and I learned a lot. Stoked on the pirellis I picked up and look forward to working with them again!

I only use Summit Bikes, and specifically Palo Alto. Marcus keeps my bikes crisp and perfectly tuned. Nick and Alain help me with all my bike related needs including new bikes, clothing, accessories, and even shipping my old bike to a family member. I have bought 4 bikes from Summit over the past 10 years and am really grateful for their assistance keeping me on the road!

Great place for e-bike bike rental. Rented a e-mountain bike before buying one. Reasonable rental rate. Good selection

Is this place still operating? Their phone line is not answering for the last few weeks now. I left a voice message and have not heard back....

Yes we are operating. Sorry for the delayed reply. Please email paloalto@summitbicycles.com for your inquiry. What do you need immediate assistance with?

Does the lifetime tune-up benefit travel with the bike to a new owner, if I gift or sell the bike later?

It is transferable if you sell the bike.

Could you tell me how much is flat tire repair?

    ~$28 all in

2/5 - A Bumpy Ride (Literally and Figuratively)…read more As East Coast implants turned local explorers, my partner and I figured: why not play tourist in our own backyard? With plans to cruise through Foothills Preserve, Mets Park, and Edgewood, we were excited to saddle up on some e-bikes for a scenic Bay Area ride. Unfortunately, Campus Bike turned what should've been a breezy weekend into a bit of a gear-grinding headache. To be fair, if you're on Stanford campus, Campus Bike is pretty much the option for e-bike rentals. Monopoly mode: activated. But with great power comes... well, definitely not fully charged bikes. We rented two e-bikes for an overnight ride and an additional two days--$75 per bike, plus $30/day afterward, totaling over $200+. We thought we were good to go... until we realized both bikes were barely at 50% battery on day one. No biggie--we'll charge them at home, right? Wrong. The chargers for the Velotric Nomad didn't work. 1 out of 2 bikes had a faulty cord & power supply issue. Major buzzkill. Even after returning to swap out chargers, the replacement bikes were still undercharged. Cue déjà vu. To his credit, Aaron really tried to patch things up. He acknowledged the mix-up and compensated us for the inconvenience. Solid customer service effort on his part, but the damage was done. Our riding plans? Deflated. Our weekend itinerary? Scrambled. Our patience? Running on fumes. And if you're not a Stanford local? Good luck finding the shop. Thanks to campus construction, trying to return the bikes felt like navigating a corn maze inside a plastic bag. (Not recommended.) Final gear-check: for the price, the experience didn't quite shift into high gear. The foldable e-bike felt like a tricycle racing a Tesla compared to the Nomad. We wanted to like this place. We wanted to roll away happy. But between faulty equipment and rerouted logistics, Campus Bike left us spinning our wheels--and not in the fun way.

This place only makes money because the students would have to go off campus to get their bikes…read morefixed. If you need something quick like a tire change this place is fine they'll just over charge you. Anything else, like electrical or battery issue, they won't even try and fix it. I bought a bike from them and they told us that they can fix any issue if it was a Campus Shop certified bike. A year later, they told me the bike was too old at the time of purchase that they don't carry the parts to work on it so it's out of warranty. Why even sell it then?! They are very rude and unhelpful unless you want to buy a bike from them.
