The lawn service and snow removal were mediocre at best. My low rating, however, is primarily due…read moreto their unacceptable billing practices. I paid a lump sum in April to cover mowing services for the entire summer. Yet, in August, I received a notice claiming the bill hadn't been paid. I promptly emailed the company a copy of the cleared check as proof of payment. Since I didn't hear back, I assumed the matter was resolved. Fast forward to November--I received another letter stating, once again, that the bill remained unpaid. This time, I sent the same proof of payment via certified mail, along with a letter formally terminating their services. I never received a response. This was the final straw after months of consistently receiving outdated and inaccurate bills. It's hard not to feel like they were attempting to scam me.

It was the prize of my property ever since it appeared as a sapling several years ago, evidently the gift of a forgetful squirrel. I had been nurturing it and often fantasized that it would remain and thrive after the Norway maples and white pines had died or been cut down. This deliberate act of vandalism followed my asking the team please to take out English ivy, euonymus bushes, bittersweet, and, of course, poison ivy growing around, between, and up trees at the border of the property. I apologized profusely for the poison ivy, and told them I would give them tecnu before they left. Having spent much of the time actually working beside them, I went into the house. When I returned, they were gone. The weeds and invasives at the border hadn't been touched. The trunk of the hickory nut, denuded of leaves and branches, was left in a pile of brush in the middle of the backyard. I told the boss. She didn't respond.
