As soon as I walked in the lobby I knew I was double triple booked like they do at the beauty salons. the whole lobby was packed with customers. First off my appointment was at 10:30 I didn't get seen until a little after 11:00, I had to check back in to have someone do my labs which took another 30 min wait. Then I had to check in online for my meds and wait for that to filled inhouse which was another 30 min. This process seems inefficient to me. I left around 1:25 p.m. Now here is where things get weird. I have never in my adult life had a physical or doctors appt w/o basic questions being asked like family medical history, vitamins/supplements that are taken, mental health , drugs& alcohol. I told doctor and kiosk I had been hospitalized recently and that wasn't even brought up. I brought my medicine in and wasn't asked how long I was dealing with condition or taking meds. Another weird thing about my appt is my physical didn't include the basics. Stick out your tongue say AHHH, look in my eyes & ears, check my reflexes, tap on my stomach to make sure my liver is ok, EKG, check my breast, oxygen levels, heck my temperature wasn't even checked. The only thing checked was my blood pressure, pap smear (nobody asked my last cycle or even if i was on my cycle) , and labs. During the physical I told Dr. Pinera that I didn't think my meds were working for my BP. I think I'm becoming insulin resistant from my medicine. He became very offended. Wanting to know who told me that, where did I read that at. I felt insulted and unheard as if at my 47 years of being on this earth I can't tell something is wrong with my body. I showed him my BP that I have been tracking, and he told me the meds are working, he clearly didn't read what I showed him because my BP has not been right with or without me taking meds. Dr. Pinera asked if I had sleep apnea which I do and said this could be reason for the way I've been feeling. He told me has prescribed this BP medicine to so many people and it works. I informed him several times we won't know until the labs come back. At one point i started crying I was so flustered and was trying my best not to let my tongue unleash something serious and offensive. I was told I would get a new bp monitor, mine is shot out. I didn't see any email or anything on Kaiser website showing that, only thing I saw was an email invitation to download an app for bp monitoring. At the end he told me he was going on vacation for 2weeks and to make an appointment in 3 months. I wont be back. Dr. Pinera seems nice but I don't think he listens really. You can try at your own risk.

I finally decided it was time to see a neurologist so I bit the bullet and called Midtown Neurology based on reviews. The office staff was polite, attentive and funny even on my very first phone call. They didn't have any appointments for a month, but after I explained that I'm a teacher about to go back to work, she was able to fit me in pretty quickly. I was pretty nervous about the appointment because I know there are lots of people that have migraines way worse than me and I didn't know if he would just tell me that I'm pretty normal but that was so not the case! Dr. Mishu sat with me for quite awhile going through my medical history and asking me questions to get to the root of the problem. He was horrified when I told him that my current medication made me sick and he promised to find something that would work better. He fit me in for an EEG on the same day, which was done by the kindest, gentlest technician ever. Dr. Mishu immediately came in after the test and explained the results in very normal terms that I could understand. We then planned a proper regimen that would help prevent my future migraines as well as treat them. I couldn't believe how much effort he put into treating a new patient like me. He's a little intense, but he was so patient and kind to me. And he's a snappy dresser. I am beyond pleased with my experience at Midtown Neurology.

While the medical care has been adequate, neither the providers nor the staff have been particularly personable or welcoming. Over the years, I have consistently felt like just another number instead of a valued patient. The biggest issue occurred with my neurology appointment. In May, the office called to tell me that my health insurance was not active for my June appointment and that I would not be able to be seen. This made little sense because my June insurance premium had not even been due yet. I explained that my health insurance is on AutoPay and that my coverage would renew as it always does. I was told the office would verify the information and call me back. To the best of my recollection, I never received a follow up call. Because I had been told there was an issue with my insurance, I later called to reschedule my appointment. That is when I was informed that I would be charged a no show fee. The missed appointment was a direct result of the incorrect information provided by the office, not because I simply failed to show up. I escalated the issue and explained exactly what had happened, yet they still refused to waive the fee. It is incredibly frustrating to be penalized for an administrative error that was not my fault. If patients are expected to be accountable for their appointments, the practice should also be accountable when its staff provides incorrect information and fails to follow through on promised communication. After being a patient here for years, I expected better customer service, better communication, and a more compassionate approach from both the providers and the staff. Instead, I was left paying the price for the practice's mistake. Unfortunately, this experience has left me questioning whether this office truly values its patients.

I'll name two. My PCP and my specialist doctor in their various fields. But let me share about this particular, Dr. and his Office personnel. Do you know your PCP primary care physician in my own words I considered the "First Responder", first to fine and diagnose and if needed, refer you to a specialist. In this case, it was life-threatening event. at my senior age. I've had the privilege of seeing a lot of doctor's appointments. never before have I, on a constant bases each appointment, different staff still with a constant response of the highest professional treatment a patient can get regardless of the workload of dealing with patients. The incredible staff members really help you to be at ease when there is a time of possible crisis or concern. This is the practice of Dr. Kashif Ahmed's Family Office personnel. They treat you with incredible respect and they look you in the eyes with very confident confidence that you'll be. OK my question is, how can you get an entire office full of confident, professional, life encouraging Office employees to all be on one, Channel, one mission statement. That's incredible to name a few like Samantha, JoJo, Maggie, Shara, etc. I wish I could name them all from the intake of getting your current vitals, to drawing your blood test. it's not about my experience only it's what I witness many times the treatment of other patients in the front desk waiting room. I came in for a visit about a lump in my chest in DEC 2024, and Dr Brown and his team DID NOT SEND THE REFERRAL FOR A MAMMOGRAM UNTIL JUNE 2025; and only did so after I called over and over and finally wrote a bad review for them. I complained then, and nothing... Then when I went back in for a follow up on the findings, Dr Brown and his team decided to just leave me sitting in the exam room for 45min with no word and were acting surprised that I got up and left. Then I rescheduled only for them to call and cancel the appointment randomly the day before with no reason. It is now OCT 2025, and literally NOTHING has been done beyond the mammogram that took 6 months to be sent. NO follow up, NO referral to address findings and NO callback from Dr Brown to even advise what was found. I'm ready to complain to the GA Composite Medical Board. I've called countless times and advised that I want a different physician handling my care as Dr Brown and his team are just NOT IT; and all the management has done was advise that I should come see Dr Brown and then nothing at all. They choose not to return calls, even after they advised they will look into something and call you back.. Management could not care less about the patient needs. Am I missing something??? I am not a fan of Dr Brown, I do not trust him being my physician and I do not want to be his patient AT ALL. My original doctor (Dr Melton) who was amazing retired (or just ran away from this place) and they just assigned this man to me and the care has been trash ever since. They tell you they are sending a referral, but they don't for months. They say they will return your call, but they don't. You come in to an appointment on time and depending on the doctor they've just stuck you with, you'll be sitting in the exam room staring at the walls for 45min every single time you visit. For your own sake, GO ELSEWHERE... To be a healthcare facility, the care is pretty trash. Dr Brown is insanely terrible, management is insanely incompetent and so forth and so on. The very moment Absolute Care became Avita Care, ALL the care went out the window. This place would be better off turned into a Starbucks. The nurse came, did the triage, and then the doctor came in to assess. They discarded the things that were not wrong, but again, they did not tell me what was wrong.
