P.E was really fun but also tough. I loved my 4th and 5th grade teachers Ms.Moore and Ms.Layhee both were very nice, we got to do exciting projects it was really fun. 4th grade gold rush field trip was amazing! We did lots of fun things. What I really like about this school is that the students are very knowledgeable and have empathy, in my own opinion I think that kids here does thorough education and that they are able to understand what the teacher is saying. The kids would include you in anything, very helpful. So if your looking at the reviews, don't be shy and make some friends because you would not regret it! You would have so much fun, sadly...I had to leave this school for middle school. That's a whole new level but things are gonna get harder every grade ask for help if you need it, teachers, and students.

Any questions concerning class assignments and curriculum always get answered right away by all his teachers and counselor as well. In that aspect, my son has had a successful experience here. However... PARENTS BEWARE!! If your child is a victim of bullying and harassment on this campus, this school will lack follow through when it comes to implementing serious consequences to abusers. Be prepared to take your own legal action in order to protect your child. Bullies are given a slap on the hand and the victims are offered mental health support services. To add more insult to injury, if your child shares a class with their well known abuser, they will not switch the bully to a different classroom instead, they will expect the victim to change classes. Parents beware.

The only issue is the pick-up and drop-off situation--it's a complete nightmare and has apparently been a problem for years. I even requested bus for my child to avoid the chaos, but the school doesn't have enough room. The best solution? Add more buses! Not to mention parents starting work before 9am and we don't live close enough for my son to walk. Adding more buses would help a ton!

Allen Ave Elementary plays favoritism towards their white population…read more Fifth grade teacher Marissa Messina is an inexperienced teacher handling fifth Grade students despite not being qualified in my opinion and experience with her! She belongs in a kindergarten or first grade classroom, in the beginning of her teaching career! Teacher Messina doesn't offer students realistic study habits nor supports students transition to middle school. Minority students be careful of bias treatment! Females will get more attention and better treatment. White students will get several warnings and inappropriate behaviors are permitted under her care, as disclosed by students themselves. Teacher Messina allows students to just leave the classroom when school is over and disregards students safety or parents request based on enrollment consents. She has a history of meeting up with families after hours and going to her favorite students games/other and creating a bias environment. This was my child's & families experience at Allen Ave! This touched my heart because this type of treatment can be damaging to students with a poor support system! This type of treatment is unethical. Be CAREFUL parents! I write this to being awareness to parents & students of color in a school system that allows racial inequality and discourages diversity!

What stands out to us is that this school truly focuses on the whole child. Yes, the academics are good, but more importantly, our son has learned how to think independently, treat others with kindness, and carry himself with confidence and respect. Over the years, we've watched him grow into a confident, kind, and grounded young person - something we value even more than academic success. As parents, we've also grown alongside our child. The school supports families with open communication and by bringing in experts to talk about real-life topics like mental health, screen time and gaming, and what the future might look like for our kids - all of which have been incredibly helpful for us as parents. After 10 years here, this has been more than just a school experience - it's shaped our family in the best way.

She doesn't train, she hovers and yells and spirals out of control when someone tries to do it their own way. Everything has to be done her specific way. You don't even get to cook, you just prep, clean up HER mess and do HER dishes with. No appreciation. People come and go from that kitchen yet she still remains. The "Chef" will shun your child if you're an "add on" lunch "don't your parents give you money for lunch? We can't keep feeding you, some of this lunch is for the kids that pay for it" There was a rat problem in the kitchen and she wouldn't do anything about it. Just laugh it off and never tell her boss about it and demanded food still be made in the kitchen. HR DOESN'T DO anything about her. They tell you to toughen up and just do it her way because it's her kitchen. They tell you to talk it out with her but the "chef" doesn't want to talk, only dictate. She's clearly the problem and only likes who she likes.
