What stands out to us is that this school truly focuses on the whole child. Yes, the academics are good, but more importantly, our son has learned how to think independently, treat others with kindness, and carry himself with confidence and respect. Over the years, we've watched him grow into a confident, kind, and grounded young person - something we value even more than academic success. As parents, we've also grown alongside our child. The school supports families with open communication and by bringing in experts to talk about real-life topics like mental health, screen time and gaming, and what the future might look like for our kids - all of which have been incredibly helpful for us as parents. After 10 years here, this has been more than just a school experience - it's shaped our family in the best way.

She doesn't train, she hovers and yells and spirals out of control when someone tries to do it their own way. Everything has to be done her specific way. You don't even get to cook, you just prep, clean up HER mess and do HER dishes with. No appreciation. People come and go from that kitchen yet she still remains. The "Chef" will shun your child if you're an "add on" lunch "don't your parents give you money for lunch? We can't keep feeding you, some of this lunch is for the kids that pay for it" There was a rat problem in the kitchen and she wouldn't do anything about it. Just laugh it off and never tell her boss about it and demanded food still be made in the kitchen. HR DOESN'T DO anything about her. They tell you to toughen up and just do it her way because it's her kitchen. They tell you to talk it out with her but the "chef" doesn't want to talk, only dictate. She's clearly the problem and only likes who she likes.

I tried to teach him at home and my son had absolutely no interest - which gets into another whole analysis with learning disorders and what not.. He dropped out 6 times!!!! I explained to my son, you have to learn your ABC's and how to count to 10. He graduated! Then started kindergarten, and had a very hard time. In second grade the school recommended to transfer him to public school For free additional help (Now I believe WCS can accommodate more with disorders in kids as I believe they have an onsite program to assist better). I did send my child to a public school, and he was depressed for the entire 3 years! I worked hard during the recession and told my husband I am placing our child back at Western. And as Soon as I told our son, there was a sense of hope. He returned in sixth grade and graduated high school. Today he is an IT Tech for a mortgage company and has a heart that is open to life with non--judgment. He's trying to figure out how to make this world a better place. If anyone ever wanted to reach out and hear my story, I am willing to talk to you in person through WCS.. But he survived because I put him back at Western and he met his lifelong friends that he still relates with today as life-long friends

My daughter was in first grade and would come home crying because the teacher yelled at her and other students. She came home crying telling me constantly she did not want to go to this school anymore. I confronted the teacher about this and things changed immediately after me keeping her home for a few days trying to decide whether I wanted her to finish the school year there. The teacher knew my kids reaction if she yelled which wasn't denied on her part that she did indeed yell at the students. She was nicer the last month of school that I kept her there. I paid the school registration for the year before I decided I was no longer bringing her back for the next school year and they did not want to refund my money and didn't care that we were leaving. Their administrative assistant Mrs Diego has the worse attitude, it's obvious she does not like her job and always seems unhappy when asked questions. The hospitality from her is horrible and uncomfortable. I have had my child in Catholic school since she was 4 Years old, unfortunately her old school shut down so it is the only reason why I moved her to OLA. She is 7 years old and she is forgetting her prayers, this school feels more of a high end public school in uniform, I did not feel it high standards on their curriculum or religion. I pulled her out and moved her to another Catholic school and I am excited to start our journey with them, their administrative staff is amazing, they try to be involved with the families since the first day you meet them.

The aide Ms Debbie is still working while my daughter is home since April because they have not removed the aide nor completed her emergency IEP. Be very cautious while sending a child with a disability to this school. Unfortunately the aide is more protected instead of my daughter even though they said her safety is the number one priority. Ms Debbie has yet to be on leave for investigations and no repercussions for what she did to my daughter. Parent of 2 children, we were an MTV family for 4 years (2021-2025). We chose MTV because the Dual…read moreLanguage Immersion ("DLI") program was very appealing to us. Since we started school right out of Covid, we were very understanding with teacher absence, changing howework and study policies, screen time, and remote learning. Over time, we noticed that both student attrition and teacher turnover is very, very high. We have gone through 2 principals, 1 music teacher, and 3 DLI teachers have come and gone. The school uses Class Dojo for teacher-parent communication. DLI: Kinder, First, and Third grade have excellent teachers. DLI is not offered for TK. Not all DLI teachers are native Spanish speakers. The model is supposed to be 50% English, 50% Spanish, but is closer to 80/20 when you factor in that PE, music, and art and garden time is conducted in English. Parents have asked for more Spanish books in the library which was granted with some resistance. Parents have asked for Spanish book clubs or after-school learning in a fun environment to promote Spanish speaking, as of this review neither have been implemented. In-class screen time is a little high in my opinion, almost all reading and testing is performed on an iPad. Starting the morning with screen time is not ideal, but I also understand the teachers must made do with the tools they are given. The school curriculum is not very rigorous. I have two high performers, yet much of learning takes place at home. Music and track are offered starting 4th grade. Robotics was offered for the first time during Spring '25 for 3rd grade and above.Because the DLI cohorts stay in the same group as they go from grade to grade, we have gotten to know the other students and their families very well. Tutoring in math and Spanish is very limited and not available for all students whose parents want them to improve. From a school culture perspective, the environment is extremely welcoming. We have used on campus therapy/counseling services offered, and the same counselor did not return the following year (we only used it 2 school yrs). PreK: State funded and on-campus. Has it's own enclosed playground and pickup/dropoff gate. Children have 2 in-class restrooms. Amazing group of teachers! Mrs Madisenne and her team are top notch, extremely patience and kind, and they host MONTHLY parent-student activities and 2 singing performances (winter and spring). PreK was our favorite time at MTV. PFA: IG handle is mountainviewPFA There is so much drama. The same officers cycle through different positions from year to year. The officers are not open to new ideas, do not follow their own Bylaws and Principal Hawkins does not enforce them. If you are an actively involved parent, please plan accordingly. The same events and fundraisers take place year after year: -APEX run -Popcorn/cookie/cheesecake sales -Trunk or Treat -Christmas Boutique-huge effort with little return -Read-A-Thon -Kona Ice - every Friday after school when the weather is warm -Various local "family dine out" nights scattered throughout the year -Dances and Movie Nights have not been consistent over the years Overall I give the school a C- It's saving grace is the sense of community. The decision to leave MTV was made after careful consideration and deliberation, especially since we made very strong friendships. We were not given an exit interview.

Our family has appreciated the excellent care our kids have received for nearly nine years. The teachers are warm and caring, and develop strong relationships with the children. Kristy, who has been running ECC for many years as the director, is responsive, attentive and a pleasure to work with. ECC teachers enjoy the work they do, and plan engaging and enriching activities. They do lots of age appropriate activities every day: arts and crafts, singing, reading stories, outside/inside free play, walks, circle time where they focus on letter and number recognition and for the older preschool classes Spanish Circle. There's a good mix of activities and my kids have had fun while developing skills that prepare them well for the transition to kindergarten. I'd highly recommend ECC to any parents looking for daycare or preschool for their kids. They do a fantastic job and create a warm, welcoming and caring environment for the kids and parents alike.
