I arrived for my scheduled appointment and was the girl who was assisting me was very nice, she needed some assistance from her coworker to complete my filing since she was not familiar with my out of state forms, understandable. After all was completed she had me sign all required forms and told me it would be two to three weeks for my return to post to my account. Fast forward twenty four days later and my return still has not posted to my account. I logged into the IRS website and it showed that they had not received my filing yet. I immediately called Tom's and told them that the IRS did not receive my filing, the girl who answered the phone pulled up my file and said "Oh, we need one more signature from you and we called you about it". I told her I never received a call about needing another signature, I even went into my call log to confirm. She could not tell me who called or when they called. She said I would have to come back in to sign the document that they missed. When I went back into the office to sign I asked her again who called me and when and she said she did not have that information and that if she wanted me to escalate it to Tom that he would not get back to me until after April 15th, this was on March 16th. She handed me the page to sign, no sorry for the inconvenience, no sorry for the delay,no sorry you had to come back in,nothing. I understand tax season is a stressful time for this business but you can show a little compassion to your customers.

I got a next day appointment,was seen timely and my tax preparer was professional,knowledgeable and personable. M situation didn't phase her and bing bang boom,taxes done and filed quickly. It cost the same as TurboTax and now that's another resource I now have here. They're also available all year round and I'm sure that will come in handy down the road!

I later found out she had not filed for 3 years, and then back filed as single claiming both of our kids. This left me owing for all three years as well as the fourth year since I had been filing married with dependents for pay from my job as well as two settlements I had received over those years. It is now April 8 approximately six days before tax deadline and we have yet to receive our taxes even though they were relatively simple to do. I have called repeatedly to find out when I can expect to receive my taxes for filing, but even though I have left my name and number with the receptionist, have not received any phone calls whatsoever from any anyone in this firm. I must say that I am very disappointed in the handling of my affairs and I will contact them again this date and advised that if they have not finished my taxes I will request that they be given back to me so I can take it to someone who can finish my tax return before the deadline. I don't know if I have upset them to the point where they will not return my calls even though that would be very unprofessional on their part but nonetheless, I need my taxes finished and filed. It is now quite obvious that they will not complete this task prior to the deadline, which will require that they file a request for extension, even though they've had, as stated above, my taxes now for 10 weeks. I think it's quite obvious that I do not recommend these people or preparing taxes.
