Our original plans were to be married in Greece & then COVID happened. My husband convinced me there was no reason to wait and we came across this wonderful local wedding planner. The prices are extremely reasonable for the gorgeous packages offered and includes photography, music, flowers, guest seating and officiant. You literally just show up the day of your wedding & walk away (married of course) after the ceremony. Vania was super flexible on any small changes/traditions I wanted for my family to make it extra special. Marie took stunning pictures. If I could leave negative stars, I WOULD. This was the worse experience I could ever imagine, and I hope no other bride has to experience this company and their lack of commitment to their advertisements. For starters, we selected the Jekyll Island - Holiday Inn package. The actual page header for the package is "All-Inclusive Space at the Holiday Inn Jekyll Island" yet as soon as you purchase the package you are hit with a "$1,000" credit (in actuality they take $1,000 off the price and tell you this is for you to pay for the reception venue at Holiday Inn). 3 weeks before the wedding I call the Jr. wedding planner Maddy (keep in mind I only talked to this lady 4 times ever and in one of those instances after I paid my account balance she tells me she is moving right now and ask if she can give me her full attention the following week...I HAD TO CALL HER 3 WEEKS BEFORE MY WEDDING. AND SHE TELLS ME SHE IS CURRENTLY MOVING - PLEASE HOLD. After speaking with Maddy the second time every - with less than 20 days until the wedding I was told that the "$1,000" credited to the account was for ME to call the hotel and set up the venue. Get this, call the venue only to be directly passed to their sales team. The entire reception party cost a total of $2,750 without adding the cost to stay in the 3-star hotel charging $300 a night with red smeared lipsticks on the walls, stains in the mattresses, that relied on 2 nightstand lamps and 1 standing lamp to provide lighting for the entire room...so much for getting ready photos, and the $1,000 "credit". After the 3rd call with Maddy, the wedding decorator, I was informed that the $5,500 we paid, the balance for the entire package would only entail 1 hour photography (with a photographer that rushed us into positions faster than we could even turn and remembered to give us constant updates for her time remaining there), 3 hours of DJ service (This guy was awesome Tactical_Chef is his name and he was the only good thing to come from this package), Decorations for the venue that was not included in the original package as advertised on their site (they dropped the decorations off day of about 1 hour before the ceremony. My family from out of town had to set up the $5,000 decorations and missed the entire wedding ceremony), A "wedding planner" (who I had 4 conversations with. The 4th was the night before the wedding when she asked me to complete the reception timeline for the DJ..to which I CALLED HER asking if she was prepared at this point. Thank God the DJ reached out to me 2 weeks prior, and I was able to give him our timeline directly.) The wedding planner sent us coordinates to where the reception was being held 2 weeks before the wedding. On the day of, at the exect start of the ceremony...NO ONE KNEW WHERE TO GO. NOT EVEN ME AS THE BRIDE. I had to call Connor a member of the set-up crew to send me his location so that my husband and I could send it by text to EVERYONE WHO WAS INVITED. The Officiant had a very thick accent, it would have been ambient to the environment being on an Island and all, but she decided to stand behind us...down the isle about 2.5 ft away from us. This result in us constantly asking her to repeat what she said so that we could you know, get married. The website, specifically this page https://sunandseabeachweddings.com/wedding-packages/holiday-inn-jekyll-island/ tells you to "Sit back and Relax" under the reception part, but day of my out of state family had to set up the entire reception, missing my ceremony, we did not know the location of the reception until 2 hours before the wedding began, the event manager from Holiday Inn who this company "works" with did not answer any calls from us on THE DAY OF THE WEDDING...3 HOURS BEFORE THE START TIME, the wedding planner was MIA for the entire planning of this wedding, and the "$1,000" credited to the account was off by about $1,750. The entire experience was a nightmare that I wish to forget. I literally left the ceremony telling everyone that they could go home because what we had already experienced was a complete mess. My husband and I chose an all inclusive package with this company so that we could have a very easy experience-stress free. We booked the all-inclusive Columbia package. The owner Nick was very nice and was easy to talk to. Once we had paid the deposit we were informed that part of the price of the "inclusive package" was for us to reach out to the Columbia restaurant to reserve the room and discuss details with the manager there. I had issues getting a hold of her which was very stressful because we had already paid the deposit. I spoke with the wedding planner a total of 3 times. We planned everything from the Columbia to cake delivery etc on our own. The first conversation I asked our planner if they would be able to grab some things from us when we get in town such as a guest book and our guest favors etc to set up at the reception since we had a wedding planner and all. Very small simple things. We were told it was no problem and they could grab it when they drop off the bouquet the morning of the ceremony. The day before the wedding we were in town visiting with family in st Augustine and were asked to drive 45 minutes to St. John's county to their office to drop off the wedding favors and guest book. We had to leave family to spend 2 hours doing this the day prior when we wanted to relax with family and enjoy our trip. Our wedding turned out nice in the end but there was such a lack of communication and more confusion than anything. I am left to wonder what exactly we paid $6000 for. Seems like we could have went with another company that charged $1200 to set up a small ceremony on the beach. Our ceremony was nice in the end and photographer Daniel was very nice. Our favorite experience over all was the workers at the Columbia. They went ABOVE AND BEYOND for us. Waiting in the street to save our wedding guests parking which they didn't have to do. The man working the lot gave us sweet marriage advice and everyone was so joyful. The waiters were phenomenal as well. The Columbia is free to reserve for weddings and is completely separate from sun and sea beach weddings FYI. Highly recommend doing your wedding with them. read more

From a recent bride...I would not recommend this company to any excited couple looking to plan their wedding. Serious lack of communication which will lead to extreme planning anxiety. Concerns will not be addressed by planners or owner. In fact, the owner will argue with you about any issues you may have. To top it off, they will poorly execute what was agreed upon in your contract, then blame the couple for their inability to set up your wedding. There are lots of places in North Florida that can help you plan the wedding of your dreams and I would steer clear of Sun & Sea. read more

*STRONG EMPHASIS ON LACK OF COMMUNICATION* The only reason I'm giving one star is because they actually showed up to the wedding, but even 1 star is gracious. My sister-in-law was the bride and she had major communication issues with her planner and other planners assigned all the way up to her wedding day (as in, the planners didn't communicate or respond). On the actual wedding day, the planner who showed up made it known that this was her 2nd wedding and she was tired... and honestly her work showed it. The food was set up right next to the ceremony chairs. I was at the end of a row and could literally touch the food tent from my ceremony seat. In the same line of vision is also where the planner hung the trash bag, in between the ceremony and food tent. Not only was the planner who showed up lazy in her work, but was extremely unprofessional. She was rude to guests (literally bumped right into me and said nothing - mind you this is after myself and another guest poured champagne for toasts because the planner didn't want to?), sat down for the ceremony, and was in a bright blue swim shirt with swim shorts, it was beyond unprofessional. Thankfully the bride and groom had an amazing photographer who kept them aware of the time (cake cutting and first dance - which the planner did not announce) and a tribe of people who helped set up for the ceremony, helped during, and helped take down of the ceremony/decorations. If you want a stress free wedding, i strongly recommend looking elsewhere. read more

I went to a wedding over this past weekend where the bride and groom had hired this company for their wedding. As a bridesmaid I can tell you I did more for that wedding from Dallas than they did in Florida. From the lack of communication to the set up. The flowers looked like they were purchased at dollar tree, I'd at least prefer hobby lobby if you were doing fake flowers. The brides bouquet was the same as her maid of honor, and the flowers were already dying. The "planners" were in fishing attire and sat on their phones the whole time but definitely made sure we stayed on the schedule for time so they could leave. Heaven forbid they not start packing up when people were still sitting in chairs. Trash bags were next to food and actually hung up on the tent directly next to the cake. They didn't bother hiding any set up things so that could be seen by everyone and made it very difficult to have everyone gather to get food or drinks. They put the wedding guest favors on the ground hard to see by any guest, therefor the money spent on koozies and bottle openers and adorable soap arrangements were hardly taken by any of the guests. The altar was so close to the first fow of chair the photographer couldn't get all of the angles she wanted to. There's a whole beach for crying out loud, everything was pushed together in such a small area it could probably fit into my studio downtown Dallas apartment. Lastly, the "planners" and "coordinators" had almost no communication with the bride leading up to the wedding and didn't even get in contact with her on the day of the wedding until after 1 o'clock. My ex used to hit me up more than this company talked to the bride. Questions were left unanswered up until her walking down the aisle. We were all prepared to set things up on our own because we thought they actually wouldn't even show up on the day of. I feel terrible that my best friend had the wedding of her dreams in her mind, was reassured months ago when she first met with this company and it all just fell apart. Luckily, it was still a beautiful wedding, but it was on the beach so how could it not be! 10/10 would NOT recommend . read more

There were several problems that we encountered in this whole process with Sun & Sea Beach Weddings. Under the Supply of Goods and Services Act 1982, Sun & Sea Beach Weddings are obliged to take reasonable skill and care in the provision of a service. We believe Sun & Sea Beach Weddings did not do this. I have read all of the negative reviews written by past customers and we encountered all of the same problems mentioned previously. I strongly suggest staying away from this company. There were multiple problems the day of our wedding from this company, but the ultimate slap in the face was the complete lack of care. Even after the officiant showed up an hour late, the photographer demanded extra payment on the beach and refused to take our wedding photos without being paid on the beach (we already prepaid), Josie (the wedding coordinator we had never met) not having the music for our ceremony, and having to find and hire our own officiant literally minutes before our ceremony, the owner, Nick, told us our attitudes ruined the day, not his company. For a business that promises perfection and claims to be in the wedding business, they treated our wedding as if it didn't matter. There are so many things I would like to say about Sun and Sea Weddings. They were absolutely amazing. I worked closely with Steven, and he was on top of everything from start to finish. I live in Colorado and was anxious about finding someone I could trust to plan our elopement to Florida. The sign-up process was very detailed and provided me with all the options I didn't even know existed. And they got back to me right away to help start planning our elopement. We chose the River to Sea Preserve location in St. Augustine, FL, and I couldn't be happier. Everything went off without a hitch. From the very start, Steven was on top of communication with me. I was unable to have many phone conversations due to the nature of my job, but that did not hinder or hold up any of the wedding planning. Steven provided me with all the information I needed to make the day exactly as I imagined it would be. They even were able to accommodate my personal choice for a wedding bouquet. The flouriest simple just asked for a picture and provided an estimate. On the day of the wedding, everything was set up in advance with plenty of time for us to arrive. Naturally, we were running a little bit late, (my dad took a wrong turn on the way) but that did not phase them in the slightest. I was in constant communication with the staff who were waiting for me at the beach to arrive, guided us through the timing of when to walk down the aisle, and even were so helpful with moving the decorations up the beach multiple times due to the rising tide. The photographer was amazing and she did such a wonderful job. We opted to do a second location for pictures at the Washington Oaks Gardens, and I am so glad we did. It was absolutely beautiful. I fell in love with it the second we arrived. I can't wait to get our pictures! I highly recommend Sun and Sea Weddings to anyone who is looking for a destination wedding. From start to finish, we were very up front and easy going with how we wanted everything to work. We paid nearly 1600 for the officiant, photographer, wedding planner, music and set up crew. We made sure that before we arrived, everything was as we agreed it would be. We just wanted a small relaxed wedding; nothing fancy or too extreme. The first issue was that we didnt know who our wedding planner was. The first person I corresponded with was someone named Vicki then after a while someone named Amanda began working with me. After a while she stopped responding to my emails so I copied Vicki and then someone named Nick responded. I then sent emails to Amanda Vicki and Nick for a while until someone named Michelle said that she was my wedding planner. It was very confusing figuring out if everyone had gotten the proper correspondence emails. We continuously received emails that asked us to pay when we were already paid in full and eventually had to send them a receipt printed from their own website just to prove it. We had to pay $58.25 permit fee for a public beach that was actually $8/vehicle. They told us that when we arrive there will be a person there to grab the groom and take him, then the wedding planner would meet me. It was chaos upon arrival. No one was there to direct anyone from our wedding party. The groom got lost. He was told by the park gate personnel to go down one path when it was supposed to be the other path (more than 1 wedding that day). Eventually, The officiant grabbed me and said he didnt know how he didnt see me. We get to the actual ceremony, that did not have the ocean in the background per my several requests & the officiant did not stand with us so we didnt hear anything he said. Instead he stood behind our guests so all of our guests had to turn to the side to see him and hear what he was saying. We allowed our guests to take photos which shows this. I had sent a chart to one or more people at Sun & Sea showing that I wanted the officiant to be standing by the bride and groom like in a traditional wedding. In a prior discussion with Michelle, I asked how my son, the ring bearer, should enter and be standing. I explained it was a big deal to share our day and I didnt want him to just stand up and hand us the rings and sit back down..which is what ended up happening. He was instead informed to sit which really upset all of us since we wanted him to be part of our ceremony. We were later informed "As far as where we stand and the ring bearer, I went over those things with you before the ceremony and you said nothing as to wanting anything differently." I am unclear as to what moment this was brought up outside of a fast blurting as we hid behind a car while my Maid of Honor directed the Groom down the correct path...First will be the groom, then bestman, then maid of honor, then bride with father. But also, I dont feel that I shouldve had to speak up since I felt this was very clear in our email correspondence. I was also later informed "If it was so important to have him stand all you had to do was say something to me when I suggested him sit. It would have been no big deal at all to have him stand. " To do this we wouldve had to speak up during the wedding, but obviously we were trying to keep our ceremony going without too much interruption. Plus everything felt so incredibly rushed at the beginning, then slowed down a bit in the middle and sped back up during photos. And again, I felt that since this was already made clear in our email correspondence, I really shouldnt have had to bring this up during our wedding. Our wedding planner emailed us saying she wished she couldve been there..WOW. I was later informed that their wedding planners typically wont show up for elopement packages, and since several things discussed werent carried out, I guess I'm confused why we paid for a wedding planner in the first place. Our group had 9 people. I was under the impression that elopement packages were more of 4 or less people. The photographer was nice. She took 168 photos. Unfortunately, she also took the full 6 weeks to give us our photos and didnt appear to be edited or enhanced in any way so I spent a good portion of time blurring random people out in the background and fixing light issues. Several poses were awkward and unflattering. A man approached who was setting up for the next wedding and said we needed to hurry and finish the photos since the next wedding party was arriving. I watched as the exact location we had our wedding was being torn down and replaced with the next brides wishes. We really felt like just a number to these people. They didnt get how to make this day special for us. To be honest, it was the happiest day of our lives, but seriously none of that had to do with Sun & Sea Beach Weddings. read more
