He didn't try to upsell me on getting the most expensive testing -- in fact, he discouraged me from it, recommending a cheaper option that would still give me good information. He had appointments available within a week, so I was able to have the testing done quickly. During the testing process, Doug took the time to explain a lot of useful information and patiently answered any questions I had. The day they came to install there were 2 employees-2! They didn't have the equipment to dig the pool, thank goodness we had a guy doing work for us elsewhere that could help with the dig. To get familiarized with managing a pool we scheduled a pool opening and training session so that we could get some experience. When the appointment rolled around the person they sent completely answered any questions I had. At the same time he did not do any of the product pushing that I expected to occur. Instead the treatment I got was exceedingly fair, with him even lowering the cost of the service for things he didn't have to do since we had managed it beforehand. All in all, an excellent experience. The same could be said for my experience in the store itself. The employees there were more than willing to answer my novice pool owner questions and made reasonable recommendations. I was also pleased to discover that they offered free water tests which let you know what needs to go into the water to balance the levels. I'm not sure if that's universal to stores in the pool industry but it's definitely nice to have here.
