The property manager is untruthful and ill-mannered. She started about lying about new appliances and trying to put moldy, unsanitary appliances (refrigerator and stove) in our renovated unit in which modern, none moldy, appliances are promised. Following our complaint, she yelled at us through the phone and refused to change them. Her attitude and actions only changed when we presented to her pictures of the mold infestation. Following other issues, we reported the lack of exhaust to the exhaust hood over the stove ( the thing which is supposed to extract smoke while cooking). The onsite maintenance man told me that it was a health hazard not to have one and that it was strange that every apartment had one except ours. Weeks after he reported it to the property manager, nothing had been done. We brought the issue up to the property manager, and we were once again yelled at. This time she said all we did was complain, even though this is a health hazard since everything fills up with smoke when we cook. That she did not feel like adding the necessary exhaust, that every single other apartment has because she did not like our "complaints. She further went on to say that we should leave the apartments because she would make our lives miserable if we stayed. " I am sure her complaints and mistreatment for our request for necessary maintenance to eliminate a health hazard within our apartment are unlawful under statue §§ 92.331-92.335 of texas law. read more
