So I bought a one month membership for myself and my wife and then asked to freeze the account until we come back down to Florida since we live in New Jersey. We did everything through a gentlemen named Mac who understood our situation that we wouldn't be coming back down until the next year. I got billed the next month accidentally and he refunded me and apologized. At that time I asked him to take my card off file. Fast forward to January and I've been getting billed the last 3 months after several phone calls with the owner and emails sent without a response. Today was the last straw as I called AGAIN to have my card removed and to be refunded. I mentioned that I'm going to have my bank reverse the charges and he started calling me a jack ass and saying why don't I come and say this to his face because he felt "threatened" and will sue me if I do it. I can't say enough awful things about the people here except for Mac who actually doesn't even work there anymore probably because he was nice. The fact that I asked several times for the card to be taken off file and it hasn't been is severely alarming. Anyone that is traveling and thinking about Joining beware. They told me something completely different than what the contract said. Stupid me for taking their word for it and not reviewing the contract. Not keeping your word says a lot about a business. The instructor, as always, was really kind and did a great job making sure everyone understood the movements. Equipment takes weeks, sometimes months to fix.The bulbs for the tanning beds have been laying in the same boxes they were delivered in for 6 months without being changed. All while the bulbs that are in the tanning beds are old, have past their life expectancy and don't work. The gym locker rooms are filthy. Feces and urine throughout. Dirt and grime that cover all exterior surfaces. Feces, urine, mold, and dry boogers on the walls. In corners on the floors, hair in the sinks, trash throughout on the floors, etc. Need I say more?! Nothing seems to be cleaned on a regular basis. Planet Fitness, What are we doing here? Can you not do better for the customers who have paid good money for the expected value? This location is a pig stine. It's disgusting by any standard. This location needs a full makeover, deep cleansing or needs to be shut down entirely. Do better.

The equipment was set up in similar locations so I could find what I wanted. Some of the machines that get backed up in my local gym were more available here. They also had four of my beloved iFIT bikes compared to the two my gym has. The only thing I didn't like was it felt very hot in here. I would have appreciated lowering the AC. Like my gym, the Pompano location is also 24 hours which I love. Sometimes I like to come very late on the weekends when the gym is empty so I can feel I little more free in trying new things. This location also has the Black Card area for the $25 a month members with tanning beds, hydro beds, and massage chairs. I barely have enough time to work out never mind lie around so this has not been an appealing upgrade for me. The locker room has showers but that is another feature that I don't care to use. Overall I have been happy with Planet Fitness. I have been going on a regular basis for a few months now and can see the change in my body. The hours are great and I can pop in for as little or as long as I have. The machines are easy to use and they have videos on You Tube and QR codes on the machines so you know how to use them. There are so many ways to work out that I am never bored. I try to learn a new machine each time I come and I incorporate both cardio and weights into my workouts. Whatever part of your body that you want to work on, there are numerous ways to get there. Best of all this gym is not intimidating for beginners but is equally great for the hard core fitness fanatic. People stick to their own thing and you can feel comfortable doing yours in the "Judgement Free Zone." You can download the Planet fitness app that makes check in a breeze, tracks your progress and workouts, and where you can even find home workouts. The app also lets you know how crowded the gym is. I like that it works with the Apple Health app on my watch. So far this is the longest fitness routine I have stuck to and it has seeped into other areas of my life like a better diet and more regular visits to the doctor to keep up with my health goals and to think it all started with the first time I stepped through the door of a Planet Fitness.
