Once I moved up to Citrus Heights, I needed to find a new nail salon. So I got on Yelp and searched for the best nail salon in the area and Sun Nails was the first one I found! I have been going there for about 4 months now and I always leave so happy :) Kevin and his team do amazing work!! They do a good job, but if you make a reservation, they don't hold your spot if there is a walk-in. I have waited despite having a reservation all 3 visits. The shortest wait was 25 minutes and the 3rd visit I had to leave at 30 minutes without having my nails done. Poor customer service focus. read more

Went here for the first time yesterday and the service was horrible. They were cutting corners-literally!! They kept not painting my whole nail, I had to repeatedly ask them to fill my whole nail. When they seated my mom for the pedi, they knowingly put her in a chair where the massage function wasn't working when there were plenty of other chairs open. Also, the hygiene was subpar. They took water out of my pedicure water(after my feet were in there) for me to soak my hands in for the mani!! Overall, I wouldn't go here again. They don't talk to the customers, they don't paint the whole nail and their hygiene is GROSS! Save your money and go elsewhere read more

I was impressed the first time I visited and got a full set from Kevin. The 2 stars is for my actual nails looked decent. However, I continued to come in every 2-3 weeks for nails and Kevin always seemed bothered that he had to work. It was finally the last straw when I called to schedule an appointment and he didn't want to accommodate me within their hours because he felt a 6pm appointment was "too late" even though their hour are until 7pm. I refuse to do business with a place that treats you like an inconvenience!! read more

I love this nail salon & highly recommend. Very nice salon & the service is impeccable. They have extended hours on Tuesday-Sundays but are closed on Mondays. They have an amazing assortment of nail colors to choose from & they are quality brands. The staff is polite, courteous, professional, & quick. I went here less than two weeks ago and a man named Kevin did my nails. The place is very well-kept and very cleanly they were sanitizing tools that I've never seen them sanitize before at any other nail salon. I originally came to this place because of the awesome yelp reviews but I am sad to say my experience here was not great. I came here to get a fill with acrylic and gel polish. He sent me to a woman that hardly spoke any English and used the Dremel from Walmart on my fingernails where she caught my finger on the Dremel four times and each time she looked up at me and didn't say anything possibly to see if I even notice that she caught my finger. Then after about 20 minutes of grinding she only got the nail polish off of two fingernails then Kevin was ready for me. Once Kevin started filing my nails he burned me three times and after that I became nervous and was scared he would do it again. I choose a glittery blue color for the gel polish and when he applied it there was no glitter so he decided to sprinkle some glitter over my fingernail and asked if I liked it and I didn't want to be rude and tell him to do it again in a different color so I said it was okay. After he was done completely I noticed how thin and fragile my nails were. It looked like he didn't even put acrylic over my real nail. I groom dogs and I need a thicker nail so they don't break easily. Less then two weeks later here I am looking for different nail salon because these nails did not last nor was I happy. I came for a manicure and pedicure. Both were lacking in any kind of effort or care. I was done in 40 minutes. I had the same girl for both. The massage chair was set on high and was abusive. I turned it down to a lower setting which ultimately led to a negative attitude adjustment with the girl helping me and the need to rush. I guess I offended her. My hands were soaked in about an inch of lukewarm water for a minute. Hardly enough to cover my nails. Hardly long enough to soften anything. Old polish was left on my toes. What was done to one hand was not done to the other. There were too many steps missed in both manicure and pedicure to list them all. An overall bad experience. Will not return. read more

Excellent service! Lena does a great job with mani/ pedi. She did my gel manicure for my wedding and I just loved the way they looked. Kevin is also awesome! He added a tip on one of my nails so that all my nails are the same length. I'm always happy with their service and quality of work. I definitely recommend hem! read more

I have been coming to Sun Nails for almost a year now and will never go anywhere else as long as I am living in California. I have gotten a range of services done. I've had a pedicure, a gel manicure and acrylics. I have been super happy every time I have gone in with the service and the atmosphere. It feels like all the employees are happy and having a good time. They joke around with each other and the clients and it's a very relaxing environment. I have seen Mia every time I go in and now I do not go in unless I can get an appointment with her because she is so talented! We have brainstormed on how to get my nails just the way I like them and she is very patient and takes my concerns very seriously. Mia remembers my name every time I come in even if I haven't been in the salon in months and it feels like a very personal service experience with her. I've been going to Sun Nails for 2+ years, as do many of my friends, family and employees. They are knowledgeable, extremely polite and personable. They provide up to date service, with an abundance of options at reasonable rates. Contrary to what "Nina" stated in her review, I have NEVER had a bad experience, I have N BER been overcharged or have been treated with anything but friendly respect by the highly talented staff. At least that was until today, when "Nina" stomped in and confronted the owner and a manicurist for "overcharging her by $9." When presented with the copy of the receipt that she signed showing that she was not over charged, she got louder and more aggressive. The owner quietly refunded the $9. She created a disturbance in front of a room full of customers, to include teens, received a refund of $9 that she wasn't owed and stomped out while spouting a warning to us to watch out for their overcharging. Small Businesses are only as successful as their customer's satisfaction. It's sad that one customer, with their own agenda, can negatively impact the positive service that hardworking staff at Sun Nails provides. read more

I loved this place until today. I had nails done and 1 broke one so I went to have repaired to match color. I unfortunately was given to Mai Tran. She started to repair and customers needing more services than I began to walk in. She then glued nail, sanded for maybe 5 seconds and began to paint. I told her she had not finished and she said she would finish filing after. I said I realized she was in a hurry to get other customers but I wanted my nail done correctly. I told her she was rude. She then said she was not rude that I was rude. She said she wasn't going to charge. I said that I was a paying customer and didn't want anything for free. I ended up leaving paying 5.00 for nail that was square compared to the other 9 round, no base coat, no top coat. Mai is the rudest and most incompetent manicurist I have ever encountered. Don't waste your time or money! My fiancee and I went Saturday afternoon and they were not busy. The massage was nothing...the girl ran her thumbs up along my shin bone once...that was it! My fiancee's massage was the same. My polish has bubbles in it which I have been told is because they didn't let the polish dry between layers. The polish doesn't go all the way to the edges. I had to come home and trim the cuticles myself. I couldn't get the massage chair to stay on and when I asked the girl how to operate it, she just turned it off on the back of the chair. I asked her again, and she turned it back on. I messed with the controller but couldn't get it to stay on. I asked her how to work it, and she just reached behind the chair and turned it off. I asked the girl working on my fiancee and she just looked at me and smiled. I know sometimes there is a language barrier but I don't think either spoke even the most basic English, nor did they call someone over to translate or try to help, they just turned the chair off. The whole experience was a waste of $50. Plus, when I paid, I gave the guy at the front two $5 bills. [I shouldn't have tipped since the service was so bad, I don't know why I did.] Anyway, the guy took singles out of the drawer and went back to the pedi chairs. I don't know for sure but I think he only gave them part of my tip rather than giving each a $5 bill. There are several other salons within walking distance of this one...go anywhere else! read more
