However, Jeff, who I think is the brother of Mark, was absolutely embarrassed and really apologetic for not getting things there on time. He bent over backwards for The rest of our vacation and provided us a few items that we didn't realize were needed, gratis. Everybody makes a mistake once in a while, but for someone in charge to just flat out apologize and say they made a human mistake, that's always acceptable. To follow up with going over the top to show apologies, through service and special treatment, is outstanding. These guys really care. As most people probably know, that's not always the case in businesses. We will be going back to these guys always. I know that we will be treated fair. Incidentally we were on Captiva.

This company saved my vacation this year...we thought our rental unit furnished beach chairs and umbrellas and had ordered only a beach wagon. Sadly, the chairs provided by the owner were not satisfactory for beach use and the umbrella was broken. I frantically contacted Island Rental on the night of our arrival and they delivered chairs and umbrellas by noon the following day. Highly recommend this company!

YOLO... one of the few options on both Captiva and Sanibel islands to rent a golf cart. It's…read morespecifically for Captiva but there are few options along either island. I was less than impressed with our whole experience. We booked a golf cart for the weekend ahead of our stay, and only got the confirmation email of our payment and nothing more. Not any type of instructions on when or how to get the golf cart, when their website says they will deliver it and we requested we wanted it delivered when we made the reservation.. So we call that morning when it's open and they say to come pick it up- still never any communication more than that about our whole reservation. If we hadn't called I'm not sure they ever would have followed up with us. Then, we go to pick it up and probably get one of the crappiest golf carts I've ever used lol. And I was a golfer so I've used many a golf cart- this one struggled to even go like 8mph. We also saw other golf carts rented from another business on the island that were multitudes nicer than the one we got. And I wouldn't have a huge problem with a low quality golf cart except we paired nearly $200 to have it for a little over a day. That's kind of nuts, even for a tourist island. All in all it was just disappointing and a pain to use YOLO for a rental service. If I come back to the island I'd use a different rental company.

I had an amazing time renting a Moke from Moke and Cabana club in Sanibel. If you're not familiar…read morewith them, a Moke is like a small electric Jeep or a tricked out golf cart basically. It's street-legal, can seat four people, and has a range of about 60 miles. It's got a California and beach vibe that's super fun! It can reach speeds of around 35 mph. We booked our Moke online, chose the color we wanted, and filled out the forms. The next day, they delivered it to the Sanibel Camber of Commence. It was ready at 9 am, so I hopped in and drove off! We spent the entire day exploring Sanibel and Captiva. It was so much fun and easy to use. You can put the top down, but we left it up for shade since the sun was shining brightly. There are no doors so it's super easy to get in and out, and you can feel the nice ocean breeze whisking by! It's definitely an attention-getter too - everyone looks at it and asks questions. I don't regret doing this at all. I would love to rent one again! The process was so easy and smooth. We dropped it off at 5 pm, and we put almost 60 miles on it. The battery was about 1/4 or a little more.
