Aweful customer service on yesterday 8/19/2026…read more First off, I love me some TJ Maxx , Marshalls, etc... I shop there several times a week at all the local stores. During my lunch break on yesterday- I visited the Summer Ave. TJ Maxx in Memphis, Tn. and experienced a horrible customer service experience. Entering the store and headed in the direction of the perfume area, I could hear a lady fussing, complaining about her job, customers coming in the store shopping. Very negative words about CUSTOMERS,, The craziest thing I have witnessed. I stood in the front of the 1st perfume stand looking, and she( back female- black pants- white dots) continued o fuss about customers in general openly, very loud. There was another customer standing there as well. A minute passed, and I walked around to the other side, and she turned to me, looked at me, and grunted. I stated, "Mam- keep doing what you doing, I am not going to disturb you- I am just looking". Also- the lady standing over at the fitness counter was chiming in with her talking negatively about customers and staring me down with a frown on her face. I walked over to the other stand that had perfume, and the whole time I was in the area of perfumes, they continued to negatively talk about customers coming in the store to buy perfume, etc. I felt very unwelcomed. I quickly grabbed a couple things and proceeded to checkout. Upon check out- I shared my experience with the black male supervisor. He did apologize. I left and returned to work. When I got off work at 4pm- I returned back to the store to finish my undisturbed shopping. I must admit- that I was hoping that those 2 employees were gone. I have worked in customer service for 30 years and their behavior was so unprofessional, uncourteous, just very weird and crazy. When checking out this time, I mentioned my experience to the Manager( black female). I told her that the female security guard that was still there witnessed the earlier situation as well. Additionally- when/if experiencing unpleasant customer service at places- I just generally don't go back.... Keep my money in my pocket or shop elsewhere. I just could not believe the outward loud negative commentary that I was hearing ,,, especially about "customers shopping".... I later learned that the ladies names are: Peggy and Beatrice.
