Let me start off by saying that I have 8+ years of customer service experience and 3 years of management experience. I have a bachelors in communications and I pride myself on delivering the best customer service, no matter the circumstance.
In my 26 years of living in greater Nashville area, I have NEVER experienced the poor customer service I have experienced tonight at the Sun Tan City located on 4614 Lebanon Road in Hermitage TN.
I have been a long time member, 10 years to be exact, and up until tonight my 10 years has been enjoyable.
For those of you who aren't familiar with Sun Tan City, you have scan cards (similar to a Kroger+ Card) in which is used to log you into the system. Tonight, I did not have my scan card as I had my fiancé's keys, rookie mistake on my part, BUT, it has NEVER been an issue in the past.
Upon arriving the employee, who I later learn is the Assistant Salon Director, asks if I have my scan card. I reply, no and that I was driving my fiancé's card. Her demeaning reply was, "well we really need to get better about using our scan cards"
Perplexed- I asked if there had been any recent issues.
She begins to explain that they have had people tanning under others accounts. I then got even more confused because anyone who tans knows you have to submit your fingerprint before the system will allow you tan. Curious, I simply asked how people were getting around the fingerprint? She replied with that the Tanning Consultants were bypassing the fingerprints. My reply was simply, I guess there needs to be some training overall then.
I kid you not when I tell you this ASSISTANT STORE MANAGER, looked right at me and said "I don't need your help with training and I certainly don't have to accept your attitude, goodbye"
I said excuse me? I don't have an attitude - BUT even if you felt there was one, I am a paying customer who just wants to tan. She proceeded to ignore me and assist others in line.
I then began to call customer service and asked for her name.
It was at this point that I was asked to leave the salon.
My call with customer service resulted in being told that a District Manager would be in touch in 24-48 business hours and that the Assistant Store Manager had called her Store Manager and out stories weren't matching and I was being asked to not return to the salon. When asked if I could tan at another salon tonight, the customer service representative said she was "unsure"
I asked what her side of the story was, but they would not tell me.
I asked why I was being refused service at an establishment that I pay monthly for, and was given no answer.
So, if you're looking for an experience similar to Dicks Last Resort, head on over to 4614 Lebanon Road. They're rates are as low as 9.99 a month to be humiliated! read more
