The manager and most of the employees at this place are so rude and it's every single time I go! I swear they go out of their way to make it the most unpleasant experience ever. Do NOT go to the Avon, IN location. Zero out of 5 stars. There's one specific employee that hates customers & will intentionally go out of her way to make the entire experience awful. My 3rd time dealing with her, I finally walked out, drove 20 minutes out of my way to go tan elsewhere & then drove right back to Avon, 5 minutes from that location. Even with these gas prices, it was worth it to not deal with her & her nasty attitude. She doesn't engage in conversation, not even a hi or anything, no smile, just a nonstop glare. She won't let you tan without an ID & no other employee there or at another salon locations asks for this. I normally don't have mine when I come in bc I'm going to or from the gym & have had my purse stolen while working out, & I tried to tell her that & of course she ignored me. My card was hacked at the end of April & I asked about setting up ACH payments & she said I couldn't without a blank check. I'm not getting checks just for this, that's stupid. Another employee took the info straight from my Chase app, no problem. She also insists on giving me a new scan card every freaking time - I'm in between cars at the moment after trading mine in & getting my new one I ordered next week. I'm not adding a new key tag to someone else's keys & not carrying an empty key ring around just for one stupid scan card. Of course, you try to tell her this & no response. Literally not one word. I would think you'd want employees that at least TRY to talk to the guests & build rapport in order to upsell packages, lotions, etc. She makes me want to do the opposite. I would never buy a thing from her. In fact, I'm checking out a few other places this week & next & probably canceling my membership, bc it's ridiculous I have to drive way out of my way to tan just for the customer service & to avoid her. read more

As being my first time coming to this location, I was very pleased with the costumer service! However, my spray tan results were not the best. I even bought the primer and tan extender, yet I still look blotchy and very very orange. I have sprayed with Sun Tan City before and have always had a great result/color. Not sure what happened. read more

I've always loved going to this location, the girls and nice and friendly and it's always clean. But today I showed up at 10:15 and the salon was still closed. Online, in the app, and the sticker by the door says that the salon opens at 10 on Sundays. If this has changed then it need to be fixed so customers know when to come because I just wasted my time driving here. read more

Great location and very friendly customer service. I enjoy stopping in while I am on my lunch break because of how it is conveniently located right off of State Road 36 near a wide variety of restaurants. There is always plenty of parking and tanning beds available, so you are able to get in and out in a timely manner. read more

This location has plenty of beds, so much that I have never had to wait. Nobody gets you more tan than Sun Tan City and everybody I have talked to loves them. They are the best! read more

I don't know what has happened to this place but wow I'm about done. I used to be able to be in and ur in under 20 mins and that's when I had the faster membership and tan time was 15 mins!!! IT JUST TOOK ME 45 MINS TO TAN AND I NOW HAVE A FASTEST MEMBERSHIP SO TAN TIME IS 10 MINS. idk why they can't keep employees but every time I come in there's new girls. And there's always like two employees working so when the line is out the door no one can clean beds bc they're trying to get everyone checked in. I'm about to just suck it up and pay the insane money to cancel it because I don't pay 50$ a mont to stand in line for 30 minutes a day. The girls are all really nice and I know it's not their fault but seriously hire some more people or stop treating people bad and causing them to leave/fire them (I can only assume that's why Tye turnover is insanely high.) read more

Came in to get 2 spray tans one for me and one for my daughter 4 days ago. Was set up with a $65 package that included lotion and 2 free tans! After 2 days my tan was completely faded so I decided to go back because I had a free tan. When I returned I was told my "free" tans were used the last time I was there. What?! So , I basically paid $65 for lotion that I will never use again!! I will not be back! Complete rip off!! read more

Absolutely love the sun tan city franchise. I have had a membership off and on for almost 10 years, but i try to avoid this location at all costs. One of the workers that is always there when I go in tends to not have the best customer service. There's always something when I go in, she's always very chatty with clients and other workers or she inputs my spray tan wrong. This past time I went in it was not busy what so ever, I walked into my booth and there was no towel and no hair net. I grabbed a towel from the hall then walked up to the front where she was talking to a client who I assumed was also her friend (and asked for a hair net. She told me to go into their storage closet and get it myself... then another worker came out of their office and told me she would get it for me. I honestly was annoyed that she couldn't take 10 seconds to put the conversation on pause. I understand that things are difficult and different due to COVID, but we are still paying for a service. read more

Went yesterday with my mom to get a spray tan. I was so nervous but I went in there and the girls were so nice and friendly and put me at ease. One of my FAVORITE Sun Tan City locations! The staff here is beyond superb and always willing to help out! They are so knowledgeable about product and finding clients the best deal! I have never been too pressured into something or given incorrect information. They love to educate customers in all areas of tanning. Definitely a clean, friendly establishment! read more

Used this location a few times before a vacation in October 2015. Staff were uninformed about how all the plans worked, came in many times to stand at the counter and wait for someone, walked through the place to find the gal on her playing on her phone in the back. Told counter help that I wanted to cancel after this month, (Oct2015) she informed me that it would still bill nov, then would drop off. Well guess what, It's March now and they have been billing me every month since. Two phone calls to the headquarters Yields, "We will cancel it but cant refund you because you don't have any proof" even though I haven't tanned in 5 months, and gave her the girls name that "canceled" my membership. Even with this still haven't received anything in mail that says "canceled". Took it to my bank who said they will just not pay anymore if they try to bill it again. read more

The absolute worst tanning salon I have ever been to. I previously worked a tanning salon and the standards of this salon are awful, every time I tan I see finger prints all on the inside and outside of the bed and that needs to be cleaned. Just today I called and had the rudest lady tell me she couldn't do anything about tan's I had purchased and now can't use them THAT I PAID FOR just 4 days ago!! Will not be returning & will keep telling people how awful this place is. If I could rate lower than a 1 star I would. read more
