Hi I am a 40 year old Rockford native and tanned at local establishments many years as L A tan many years I decided to give sun me tan a try since I knew they had been in business quite a long time in Rockford. I'm not one to leave a review but I'm extremely disheartened by the customer service at the salon I would highly not recommend this place. I am a new customer I purchased a 2 week unlimited in a higher level bed as well as a good cost lotion and sunless tanner spent over 100 on my first purchase. I called today because I was only in 3 times to tan because I have had the flu and asked if I was able to maybe recover any of my tanning sessions the girl who answered was extremely rude and unhelpful not to mention the last time I went to tan the girl was eating at the front desk and they always are sitting there chatting or something. Unfortunately I will not be returning to this tanning salon and I'll make sure all my friends and family know how this place treats people so don't bother spending a dollar at this establishment. I even asked the girl on the phone to take my number down and I know she did not as the way she was being very condescending on the phone and I was just asking to talk to the person in charge of possible to get a few tans reimbursed because I was not able to come in she told me I should have put it on hold last time I was in and I should know that. But nobody ever told me you could hold your two weeks unlimited for one and for two I had 0 idea I was going to be sick I couldn't go anywhere for a week. So I'm just writing this to warm others about how the customer service is at this place and I'll be returning to my usual tanning spot where I have been tanning for years and never have been treated this way 15 years so pleas be careful before you spend money at this business. read more

Sun tan is always the best environment to go to after a long day at work just looking to tan and relax. Heard they are moving to a bigger and better salon soon with new beds and I'm so excited!!! a little overpriced but what isn't these days? it's so hot. like.....dangerously hot in this building. it has been awful and I'm not able to get the full time I should each session because I get so overheated. it's going to cause a heat stroke or at least someone passing out. they're even closing early because people can't take the heat. this will be the last time I use this facility. read more

Update: Nicoles response is full of lies. So many lies that I cant even respind to them. I cant let her take up any more of my time. Before you go to this place check out the public information that is available through the Secreatery of State and you will think twice about going here. No wonder she didn't offer to refund me, she is years behind on dues. Additionally, the number of people that have reached out to tell me that they had a similar experience (some of them former employees and how shes very difficult to work for) I shouldnt have expected any different. Oh well. Good riddance! I don't write many reviews, but the owner of this business is out of line. I called last week about two spray tans I prepaid for, I wanted to make sure this was the place that I had gone to and I was told that it was but when I tried to schedule, she said they only schedule spray tans 5 days in advance and for me to call back on Monday, today. Back story: When I purchased these, I specifically told the girl that I wouldnt be using them for a while because I never, ever travel and that was what I wanted them for. She said that was fine, I was basically buying a gift certificate and they are good indefinitely. I called this morning to schedule and the girl told me that my spray tans were expired. That they are only good for a certain amount of time after purchase. She said she would check with her manager. I asked her to have her manager contact me. The manager called stating that spray tans do expire after 3 months. I told her that the girl I bought them from told me they were like gift certificates. She said "Yeah, but we already used your money to pay like our electricity bills and stuff so we don't have that money anymore" What??? I asked her to have the owner call me. The owner calls. I answer and this is what I hear (insert yelling raspy smokers voice and constant coughing here) Stephanie I know you're pissed and all that sh*t but I don't appreciate the way you came at my girls I don't tolerate anyone yelling and cursing at my girls and threatening them they're just little girls running a business they cant.... I stopped her there. I never cursed at the receptionist or the manager. Not once. I did not yell at the receptionist or the manager. I never threatened either of them. Threaten them with what, taking their baby dolls away? I know they're just young girls doing what they're told by the raspy voice lady, that's why I wanted to speak to her directly. She said she had a recording of me yelling and threatening and cursing. I offered to meet her in a public place so we can listen to the recording together since that's not the way I recall it at all. She declined my offer, of course. When I explained what happened when I purchased them, how the girl said they were basically gift certificates, she flat out called me a liar. She continued to yell, talked over me, (I think she was mad because she couldn't get me to yell back) told me she's been in business for 18 years and she's a 'damn good owner' (what does that have to do with anything and obviously not) and before she hung up on me she told me to go f*** myself. I'm just shaking head. Is that the way business owners do things now? read more

I went to get a spray tan here and not only was the spray tan orange but the service was horrendous. I walked in and was met with blatant disrespect. Nicole was one of the worst employees I've ever come in contact with. She gave no regard to the fact that I was a paying costumer and was out right rude to me. It took her a good 20 minutes to even assist me and to top it all off, the spray tan was almost as bad as the service. It was orange and incredibly streaky. I definitely do not recommend! read more

I've been getting spray on tans for about ten years. The first time I visited this location the owner told me she was the best- she's really funny- but she was right. She is the best. She trains the staff so well too. They are also less expensive than any of the other places I have been. Of all places, dawsonville- but this place is awesome. read more

The Dahlonega salon used to be very enjoyable, but I feel like it's become less of a workplace and more of a sorority house. I understand that it's nice to have fun at work, but I wasn't helped for several minutes when I came in. I had to witness horseplay and a puppy walking on the front counter. My name was made fun of. I had a packet of lotion I didn't want or ask for shoved into my hand. I can take my money to an establishment run by more mature, older women who won't literally have animals/puppies crawling around and who won't dismiss me or look at me with pupils as big as dimes. I hope things will be better next time I return. It's important for staff to know that tanning is only half of the experience, and that much of it is them displaying basic courtesy and service to paying customers. read more

This salon is in need of serious updates. I had to stop tanning here because it was ungodly hot every time I went in. I couldn't even breathe when I got into the beds to tan because their thermostat was that high. Half the time it was 95 degrees or worse! If I'm paying for a membership then I expect the place to be reasonably air conditioned. No one can stand 20 minutes of tanning in those temps. There are so many visible repairs within the place it's very unsettling to the customers who expect a clean well maintained environment. Really disappointed this is the only option Dawsonville has to offer for tanning. read more

The beds and the tanning ability are great but the salon itself needs major work. Thermostat said 95 degrees IN THE SALON at 5:00 pm this week. Like a death camp. The owners have to know that tanning beds create heat and that the AC unit needs to be big enough to cool the space. Floor fans galore push the hot air around. Every time I have tanned it has been overly hot. Ridiculous to expect your paying customers to tan in that temperature. Wake up please owners!!!! read more
