We had an old irrigation system that was installed by unqualified people long ago. This team came in, tore out all the crap, connected the water feed to the main, installed 4 new circuits. Now we have a truly quality system. They worked thru 110 heat and left the property 100% perfect. Better than when they arrived. Quality, exceptional knowledge on plants, trimming, feeding. We were more than pleased. And they back their work. Don't shop any further. They even used paint to touch up home walls. Wow. Unmatchable. read more

Terrible... we were quoted a price for our yard to be refreshed When we decided to supply our own stone all of a sudden rates changed... added delivery fee and up the charge of spreading the stone, even though we were paying over $3000!!. Whomever worked in the office was obnoxious and very rude and actually told us they were not interested in our business.. we were were asking for a reason for the increase... did not get an answer...they installed our sprinkler system last spring which has not been without issues. Buyer beware. I would strongly caution anyone considering shopping at Sun Valley Nursery in Scottsdale. I recently bought a house around the corner and stopped in to purchase plants for the yard, spending about $600. When I got home, I realized I had purchased more than I needed. Within an hour of the purchase, I returned to the store to return just two plants. The cashier was friendly and helpful and attempted to process the refund, but the manager refused and said they would only offer store credit. While I understand businesses have policies, I explained that I felt this was poor customer service given the circumstances -- returning two items within an hour after spending hundreds of dollars. The manager became argumentative and started raising her voice, insisting their policy was "good policy" and repeatedly telling me to have a nice day, essentially pushing me out of the store. It was a surprisingly hostile interaction after I had just spent a significant amount of money there. They argued that they weren't "keeping my money," but effectively they are -- they kept both the product and the cash, while giving me store credit for a place I now have no desire to return to after being treated so poorly. It's disappointing because I just moved into the neighborhood and likely would have shopped there regularly for years. Instead, my first experience was rude and unwelcoming. Unfortunately, based on this experience, I won't be returning and cannot recommend this nursery to others. read more

I'm not the type of person to spend my time logging into a computer to write a review for a business. I have only reviewed approximately five companies and I gave each one them 5 Stars... If a company is exceptional I will spend my time looking up the company and letting others know how I was treated. This company however I have had the worst experience. I have left many voicemails to their GM "Rod" who won't respond. I have also left many text messages that haven't been answered. A few days ago I had to text him that I'm going to contact the Arizona Attorney General and the Register of Contractors. His response "Give them my cell number"... So, this review is my first one star review. Today, unfortunately I will have to spend a couple of hours filling out reports to the Attorney General and the Register of Contractors. Why can't people follow through when they tell you they will? Why can't people do their job? Why can't they just be professional. read more

We recently had a Bottle Tree dry up in the backyard and had to cut it down, which left a very open empty space behind our pool. Sun Valley Nursery is a hop skip from our house, so we stopped by after brunch a couple of Saturdays ago. Very pleasantly surprised at the huge selection of plants, flowers, all kinds of vegetation, large trees, palm trees...pretty much anything you could want in a pot or in the ground. I had a certain kind of palm tree in mind, but learned that it would grow to be too large for this space, which is when we found our Pindo Palm! I had never heard of this palm before, but it was unique and different from the numerous Mediterranean palms we already have. They scheduled installation about 2 weeks out, had it installed VERY fast, and provided excellent watering and care guidance along the way. We're 10 days out from our planting date, and it still looks beautiful! They even offered to receive pictures with any questions I might have to continue providing guidance and help if needed. Great service! Plus, it's just fun to walk through their location and be amongst all the trees and plants, watching the birds and bees do their job. read more

This nursery is the best !!! Their selection and planting service is top notch. Recently had a Mesquite tree planted and the area had a large root. The four man team removed this root in very hot conditions!!! They successfully planted the new tree and set the posts for me. Highly recommend this nursery to everyone!!!! This is an amazing Nursery with excellent service and selection. Every plant was so well taken care of and the extreme heat it actually had a healthy and lush quality to it. "AMAZING & SPECTACULAR" I found this amazing magical garden place right off Shea & FrankLoydWtight. I was looking for some larger sized plants/bushes/trees, like 5gallon pots to do some planting.It was close to my house, they deliver & offer landscaping if you need help organizing & planting.They were FULLY stocked with all kinds of varieties of plants/trees ect...that were beautiful, strong & healthy.Reasonably priced & I like that a lot of their plants/bushes/trees are originally from Az so you know that they are capable of withstanding the heat here.They're not plants shipped in from elsewhere, like Calif that are not use to Az heat so they die quickly.Butterflies & hummingbirds flying around everywhere.Also I met the most AMAZING botanist with unbelievable knowledge about plants/bushes/trees ect...ask for Miss Lucy.She was a breath of fresh air & very pleasant & patient.There was no ridiculous questions as I revealed I had no knowledge about plants/trees here in Az & how to take care of them. As a contractor I cannot ever recommend this place to anyone even when geography is convenient. Which means as a consumer it's even worse. Their contractor pricing on shrubs and flowers is higher than moon valley and Home Depot/lowers retail prices! What a rip off, will never buy here again. read more

biggest crooks I've encountered to date in town. Tried bait and switch on first tree then brought tree I received pictures on and it was so damaged it would not lasted 90 days. The Nick the salesman promised full refund of tree and I just found out 2 months later the owner had Rod the manager keep $1,600 of the purchase even though we refused to sign off on damaged goods. They do NOT stand behind the quality of there plants!! I bought 26 geraniums and a large bag of dirt and spent over $220.00 for little 4" pots. He told me they were the best as they were grown here in locally. I had them in the pots less that 3 days when I noticed the leaves were being eaten and some of them had started to turn yellow and shrivel. I sprayed immediately with spray and waited another 2 days to see if there was any improvement and there was not, so I took 10 to 12 leaves into show him and this was just after the purchase my 9 days. He told me they looked fine. And sent me on my way!! I was going to buy a 6' ficus tree and I am now definetly NOT going to do that.....Just wanted to let you know what my experience was. At least with Home Depot or Lowe's, they stand behind their products!! read more

Twice I made appointments with them to come to my home (which is less than 2 miles from their lot) to give me an estimate for remodeling the landscaping in my back yard and both times they were a no show with zero follow up or apology for wasting my time. Don't believe Sun Valley Nursery when they tell you they guarantee their trees and plants for 4 months. Sun Valley Nursery sold us 6 trees and one plant claiming there was a guarantee on all trees and plants for 4 months. We watered all excessively for several days after they were planted, as we were instructed. 5 trees looked good when they arrived and continued to look good days after they were planted. Guys who did the planting did a great job. But one of the trees did not look good when it arrived. We watered it as much as the other trees but it continued to wilt. When I sent a photo of the dying tree to Sun Valley Nursery I got a curt reply we are not watering the tree enough. We spent over $1200 on the purchase of the trees and plant at Sun Valley Nursery in Scottsdale Arizona, on Frank Lloyd Wright Avenue. Oh yes, owner said he will stop at our house and alter our irrigation, which we definitely don't need. True fully we are not thinking of buying any more trees anyway ( any other plants we can purchase at Home Depot). Sun Valley Nursery does have a lovely selection of trees and plants. The day we ordered the young lady serving us gave us great service. But the owner does not stand behind his guarantees. We've tried several times to correct the situation. The last time the phone was placed on a surface and we were ignored. We may try again because we lost over $300. We just would love to save others from the same grief. read more
