When I explained that I had literally paid $40 for nothing, the manager's response was, "Yeah, pretty much," while smiling. That response was extremely disappointing and showed a complete lack of customer service or concern for the guest. I would have expected at least some effort to make the situation right, especially when I barely received any use from something I paid $40 for. Very poor customer service. After this experience, I won't be coming back.

There's just something so peaceful about being outdoors and taking in the beauty around you. The reflections on the water were absolutely gorgeous, the fresh outdoor air smelled amazing, and the temperature was perfect not too hot, not too cold. It wasn't too crowded either, which made it even better. And of course, I got lucky and found easy parking in my favorite spot!!! Sometimes the simplest things fresh air, sunshine, a beautiful view, and a good walk are all you need to start your Sunday feeling refreshed and grateful.

This is a park with walking and biking trails wih ample access to the truckee river. Typically quiet and has enough room to not have to crowd any particular arrea. This is also a quality place to see spring blooms and fall color changes in the area. There is a small parking lot that is pretty safe since there is really no other reason to be in this area unless you are using the park. As far as naming of this park, I believe it was named after Dr. Massoud Dorostkar, an anesthesiologist in Reno who donated the tract of land for use as a park. What I dont know is how to properly prononuce the Persian surname Dorostkar. is it DO-roast-car or duh-RAWST-kahr? Either way this is a great scenic hike and picture worthy site that is a short bike ride from downtown.

The best part is that all the beaches are on the south side of the river with thick vegetation behind you so no need for beach umbrellas. I noticed he was smoking out of a crack pipe, he nodded as we walked by, and I gave him a glare and glanced towards my daughter. He nodded back that he understood, and didn't hit it again u til we were walking away. All of them minded their own business, and didn't bother us at all. We acknowledged them, said good morning and kept moving! It was nice to enjoy the area, art, and local wildlife! Great area that felt safe at all times. The surrounding areas were all very clean, the restrooms were also clean and maintained.

Just an update from my first review 10 years ago…read more The walking path between the east end of Riverside Drive and the Booth Street bridge is now open!!!! The pathway is now double the width and does some gentle meandering around the trees. It will be a lot more accessible for people with mobility issues. The new landscaping is beautiful. The banks of the river have been raised and reinforced to decrease flooding damage. And just a reminder- dogs and other pets are still welcome and must be leashed or otherwise contained. Bicycles, scooters, and skateboards are not allowed. This is one of the top places to visit in downtown.

There's plenty of shade thanks to the beautiful, massive trees, and wide open grassy areas that make it easy to spread out and relax. Notable: - Smallish park, best for the younger crowd (I'd say 8 and under). - Life jackets are available to borrow (huge plus for families near the river). - Bathroom on-site (clean-ish depending on time of day). - There's a sand horseshoe pit with horseshoes provided--random but awesome. - Ample parking - Popular for jogging groups, photoshoots, and 4-legged parents (some leashed, some not). Worth mentioning: The playground surfacing is recycled rubber tire material. While it's soft and safer for falls, I'm torn on it--lots of new research around potential chemical exposure and PFAS concerns. Feels like one of those "it seemed like a good idea in the early 2000s" things. Would love to see Reno explore alternatives in the future.
