A perfect weekend thanks to George & Linda of Sunapee View Inn.
My girlfriend had this trip planned when I got home from work; she needed to get away and I'll take any chance I can to get up to the mountains. Being that she's not as big of a skier, she picked a place that looked nice (understatement) for a fair price (cheaper than that dump Best Western).
She picked Sunapee View because it included a "light" dinner upon our arrival with a two-night stay, included breakfast each morning, a gorgeous fireplace to warm yourself by in the evening, and a jacuzzi tub in our bathroom.
We had a great weekend because the pictures don't do the place justice, the property and decor is perfect and that "light" dinner and breakfast; they were better than you could find in most of the area restaurants.
dinner consisted of
-spring salad, dried cranberries, pecans, pears, honey-mustard vinaigrette
-Italian wedding soup (awesome, Linda offered up more and I couldn't refuse)
-spinach & sun-dried tomato calzone
-lemon meringue pie
and the breakfasts?
-baked apple
-scrambled eggs
-local sausage
-potato pancake
-homemade biscuits & jam
-orange w sugar & cinnamon
-gingerbread pancakes with apple cinnamon syrup(!!)
-bacon
-your choice of juices or coffee,
everything made local if not in-house
oh and homemade cookies and a small cheese plate set out each evening as well as s'more materials and Keurig coffee-maker for fireside treats. Thank you Linda and George for being such wonderful hosts. read more
