I loved our stay- we stayed in the art deco room! Absolutely beautiful. I loved the calm tranquility of the grounds and it was gorgeous. We were only here for one night as it was a stop on an extensive road trip and it was perfect. I want to come back as soon as possible as it was the most beautiful place. I think the inn keeper so was attentive and kind, he really payed attention to details and from check in to check out, he was lovely. The room was clean, it was beautiful decorated and the history is unbeatable. Even staying here for the views alone would be more than appropriate but everything about the stay was superb. Support small hotels, they are so important to keep around

    Beautiful at night!

We loved our shirt but sweet stay in this beautiful old estate. The inn keeper is kind, informative, gave us great recommendations, booked a table for us at the local steakhouse, and was overall very hospitable even with a very full house. We spent a single night passing through Vermont and were assigned The Writers Room, which was unbelievable like walking back in time. Gorgeous four poster bed, claw foot tub/shower combo, fireplace, reading nook with a small but fun collection of vintage books along with a delightful binder of all the details one would need to know about the area. Bed was comfy, breakfast was lovely, and we will for sure be back we just recommended it to a friend going there next month!

great old details preserved in updated Inn

We made a last minute stop in Windsor and were lucky to get a room at the Windsor Mansion Inn. What an unexpected pleasure. The room was well appointed and very clean and comfortable, the host was friendly, knew the area well and directed us to some great local places. The house itself is beautiful and its history was fun to learn about, especially as we were headed to the St. Gaudens historic site in Cornish, NH. We will definitely go back and would recommend this Inn to others.

Windsor Mansion Inn formerly known as Juniper Hill Inn, which was featured on Gordon Ramsey's "Hotel Hell". Beautifully remodeled and updated from top to bottom . Totally worth the trip to VT. Located in the middle of everything from Harpoon Brewery to all your local farms. Food: Delicious simple breakfast. Not a whole lot of late night food options so eat early or bring back something to eat when your ready for that late dinner or night snack. Brew: They are located 5 minutes from Harpoon Brewery and it's the cherry on top of your perfect relaxing getaway. Harpoon offer Brewery tours on the weekend and your perfect bar menu to enjoy for lunch or dinner. Ken was awesome enough to include my kind of welcome basket, 6 beers from Harpoon with 2 pilsner glasses. Like I said earlier, recently renovated from top to bottom and it's nothing like the Juniper Hill Inn. Ken did a great job preserving what this Mansion is. Easy commute from New York City. Thanks for a great weekend and will be back soon.

Beautiful location for an historically significant property. The Windsor Mansion Inn, in previous incarnations as a private residence, has hosted Teddy Roosevelt, Woodrow Wilson, and Calvin Coolidge. We booked the Theodore Roosevelt Suite for one night. Overall the property and room exceeded our expectations. Very nicely furnished, as if the guests are trusted not to break and steal stuff. Very nice owner and staff. We particularly enjoyed the view of the hills from the inn's vantage point. The ONLY problem I had was with the shower head. It was one of those large rain shower heads that was so blocked water only squirted out of three holes (out of what was probably 40 to 50 holes total). It was impossible to take a shower, so I gave up and took a bath instead. Also, be advised that, true to the era of the mansion, there are no TVs in the rooms; so bring a good book or plan to stream through your laptop. Finally, the location is remote from the town, so plan on driving to restaurants.

Breakfast was do-it-yourself based on contents of the fridge, breakfast bar and keurig coffee maker (not deluxe, but adequate). Room was large (and AC was working fine) but decor was random and impersonal. King-sized bed was very comfortable and tiled shower bathroom was clean and functional. Note that the Inn is FOR SALE (last 500 days), so this may explain lack of attention to anything more than basic accommodation. I was unable to speak to anyone in management about having a late checkin -- they only respond to email (not phone) and not promptly and not on my first attempt. This was very odd. For the price ($281, with taxes), I think it should have been a lot nicer. Town is very quiet (actually pretty dead) and many businesses appear shuttered. There is however, a lovely park at the end of the property (after the tree swing) called Paradise Park. This made for a nice walk in the morning. I was glad we discovered this on our own as the innkeepers were non-existent. Pleasant enough, but .... not exactly what I was hoping for at this price.

There was an assortment of breads and muffins, oatmeal, waffles, fruit, etc. And the chocolate chip cookies are a delicious bonus!

Each building has locker rooms for your skis, but be sure to pack a lock so you can keep your equipment safe. They also have complementary laundry for guests with 3 detergent pack in your room. The main building (Windham Building) has most of the amenities such as the restaurant, gym, activity room, theater (showings at 10:30 am and 7 pm with complementary warm popcorn) and the arcade. They also have a billard room with ping pong tables and fooz ball table. Our kids definitely enjoyed these onsite activities. The indoor pool is in a separate building in itself. HUGE pool but no sauna or hot tubes. Why?? Such a shame as it would be so much more enjoyable with these adds. When we were there, there were barely anyone at the pool because of lack of activity. If they were to add these, I'm sure it would get utilized a lot more by guests. Do try the onsite restaurant, Maple Kitchen. You won't be disappointed. It closes on Tuesday and Wednesday. I posted a separate review on it. We always take a winter ski vacation, this resort will definitely be on rotation list!

The atmosphere is classy and casual with friendly hosts and severs who take time to answer menu questions and be sure you have what you would like. With a full bar, vast wine and beer list featuring local selections, and a variety of non-alcoholic beverage options, there is something for everyone. Our meal began with a flavor packed broth soup, featuring lemon, parsley, chicken and rice. The hearty portion was perfect for 3 to share. Next came the salads: baby greens with pickled onions and homemade vinaigrette, and rubbed kale with cranberries and nuts. Delicious! The swordfish main is crafted with an amazing balance of sweet blueberry sauce and a touch of cayenne to make the flavors pop. The chicken dish featured a tasty glaze and features grilled lemon, a surprise twist. Both mains were served with a veggie side and atop smashed potatoes- creamy and flavorful, and with lots of texture. Dinner was capped by the featured dessert, blueberry lemon panna cotta. So smooth, creamy, and heavenly! Just the right amount of citrusy syrup to complement the richness. Gather features fresh and local ingredients. This family owned and run restaurant is one of many endeavors Lisa and Jonathan Burr have successfully fully created. You will not be disappointed with your Gather dining experience!

As a huge Hampton fan, I booked online immediately and within an hour, was checking into my spacious and clean room. From top to bottom, this hotel is well run. It was sold out the second night we were there but it was still running smoothly. Parking lot, lobby, halls, etc were all spotless. Staff was available at all times. Everything was so well maintained...nothing broken or anything like that. My room was spotless not to mention quiet and comfortable. Breakfast in the morning was very civilized (if you stay at Hamptons, you know that some of the guests behave like they've never had a free breakfast before, lol) and there was a large selection of healthy options (fruit, yogurt, oatmeal) as well as the mandatory waffle station. I had a pumpkin spice waffle which was great! After leaving the prior hotel we'd been staying at 9:00 pm, anything would have been better but this place took it to the next level. It was much more money. I figured I'd get a better rate because my husband was a disabled. I went to the actual website for the hotel itself in Springfield and the people that answer the phone and I don't remember her name right now, but she was amazing so helpful. Help me get straightened out help me to rebook the reservation, but then now is fast forward to yesterday. I came into the hotel. I was greeted very nicely by this beautiful smell in the hallway Like a pine tree Christmas tree good thing which I didn't know was an air freshener I thought at first was the Christmas tree in the hallway.. The girl at the front desk, Emily she was just filling in for her mother, which I didn't know that at first, but she was very professional very outgoing greet you. Good evening welcome when you come in the door explain who I was what I needed she ends up being able to give me a room like two doors from the actual entrance at the back at the handicap entrance. So my John didn't have to walk too far since you don't been sitting for almost 3 hours in the car to get here. It was tough so then we got the wrong. I got settled came down and asked her several questions she had no problem the girl that was doing the cleanup she her name was Donna. She was working and it was her birthday like hello don't even take your birthday off wow I then talk with her for a bit to explain some things about the hotel. Everything is fresh clean bright it's beautiful. I'm sure it looks just as good when it's not decorated for Christmas as it does today it's all decorated people, Christmas, decorations and trees and bows and this fake present under the tree. Everything was just amazing so far so now I'm having breakfast and I got to sleep late for the first time, I can't say how long but breakfast has it starts off with a waffle station then it has four different kinds of fresh juice then it has a cooler that has chocolate milk in it. It has fresh yogurt, cottage cheese, boiled eggs, regular sticks of cheese then they have cold cereal. They have hot cereal. They have fresh yogurt that you can make buffets with they have things and stuff they have three kinds of fresh fruit. They have a bread station that has bagels and English muffins and toast in it with peanut butter and jelly butter Have a microwave for heating. Then their hot station has bacon and sausage, and it also has cheese omelettes and scrambled eggs this morning if two kinds of fresh coffee, hot water for coconut tea. I mean, if you can't find something for breakfast here to eat then you have a problem I had a fresh buttermilk waffle with bacon. Everything looks delicious. Looks amazing fresh I mean this has been absolutely my number one experience in hotel and the best Western of all the times I've stayed I really enjoyed this one if they were all cookie cutter, I would be doing great. I think at one time we did stay at one of the one in Pennsylvania, and that was fantastic as well, but it's nice. You can go more than one and more than one state and it's just the same. I will definitely be back here again up here for a friendly family party tonight, but we're staying till tomorrow so we can have a real short brief vacation and get some sleep without eating anyways and being bothered and stuff. it's also literally a stone stove from the highway exit you cannot go wrong by coming off and using this as a rest stop is definitely something you should come to check out is not till 12 so I mean you have no excuse not to lay in bed. Take your time get some breakfast go back and relax and everything is just top-notch here. Also forgot to put up top all the employees address so professional in the beautiful royal blue best western shirts, nice pair of black pants and sneakers also into a swimming pool, which I'm sure we won't get time to use this time as we're getting super late last night and my husband was very tired and pain and today we have the party, but I will definitely come back and try the pool next time
