I have called, emailed, and left several messages regarding their summer camp. I finally received a phone call back after multiple attempts two weeks before camp was supposed to start and the owner said she would write down my questions and get back to me. This was two weeks before camp started how do they not know their camp hours or the scheduled trips or events? She never got back to me regarding these questions so I asked for a full refund due to my poor experience with their facility. If they cannot answer simple questions I sure wouldn't want them taking care of my children. I called regarding the status of my refund she said she will mail a check as they are unable to refund the money to the card I originally paid with. We called a week later as we still haven't received the check and offered to pick it up. She said "we don't normally refund registration fees as they are non refundable and I will call you when I have the check ready." I told her no where online does it indicate the registration fee is non refundable one and two due to the poor experience and rudeness it should be refunded. I called a day later and she said "I still don't have the check ready I will call you when it is ready." I asked what the hold up was does she not have the funds to refund my money, does she not have anymore checks? She then said "I already gave you an explanation sorry it might not be what you want to hear have a nice day" and hung up the phone on me. I called back and said I'm simply asking why it is taking so long for them to refund my money and she said "I am not going to go back and forth with you I gave you an answer" then she proceeded to stay on the phone but not speak and I said "hello I hear you breathing you really not going to speak to me?" She then hung up. How childish. This is supposably the owner acting this way and you trust them with your child(ren)? I would pull your child(ren) out ASAP.

My oldest has been enrolled in KA of UF for over 7 years. Starting fulltime at 12 weeks old and since moving to their before/after care. Newell Elementary School provides bussing to and from the center which makes it convenient to have one place to drop off and pick up both kids. My youngest has been in for over 3 years and was fulltime through the pandemic since I was an essential worker and required to be in the office. The policies they implemented, intense cleaning regiment, and open communication they provided throughout made me feel comforted that he would be safe and healthy during the pandemic. KA has always treated my family like family. From the moment you walk in you are greeted with smiles and pleasant hellos which are only echoed by the teachers when dropping your kids off in their classrooms. You can tell the teachers truly care for your children and their well-being. The hallways are covered with artwork and pictures of fun activities that change throughout the year. The classrooms have even more artwork revolving around a theme for the season. The education program is great, with the school year having weekly themes that have a logical flow for the children to follow. Besides the administrative staff, Naylon (the owner) is there (almost) everyday and her door is always open to listen to your compliments, concerns, or issues. The entire staff is always very open and honest about issues, potential closures, or illnesses. There is always important information provided through the Tadpole app to keep you informed. Including fun events that they put on periodically throughout the year like trunk or treat, muffins with mom, donuts with dad, magic shows, and more. Always hoping yoga with goats will come back. He and the classmates that attended A Step Ahead are doing so well in school and I owe a lot of that to Holly and her team. They have helped my child learn independence in the classroom. My child knew how to spell his name, identify all letters, shapes and numbers before entering kindergarten. He also already knew classroom mannerisms and his kindergarten teacher complimented his hand raising, staying in his seats, sharing and participation in classroom instruction.
