Despite the…read morefact I could not get a refund on my room because I booked through a third-party.. he also claimed it was a desert beetle and while I have never seen a bedbug in real life or ever had an issue with them anywhere else, I looked up pictures and I'm like 99% sure, this was a bedbug. It was more reddish brown in real life than the picture shows and I only wish I got better photos. I was driving to Las Vegas from San Diego and wanted to stop in the Sand dunes and I was tired so figured I would book this hotel for the night. Literally within two hours of my stay I was in my bed and I noticed something crawling at the bottom and realized it was a bedbug. I had also noticed there were little black markings on the sheets, but I, never having known the red flags of bedbugs. I wrote it off as it just being a normal stain, which I found odd. Now looking back definitely a sign of bedbugs. There were also two spiders in the room. I immediately took out all of my stuff hoping there's no bedbugs being carried with me currently anyways after I return my key card, he offered to let me switch rooms, but I personally just not want to take the risk that the other rooms were infested as well. There were multiple cops arresting some people outside, which made me believe I made the right decision to leave !

I used a booking site to make the reservation. I had requested an early reservation and that was granted. We, however, arrived later than I had expected. The young man who was in the lobby wasn't the friendliest, but he was efficient. My mom asked if he had a bathroom she could use . He told her no. But, he was able to get us our room key quickly, so I was able to get her into the room soon thereafter. The room was fine. The temperature was cool, when we went in, which I didn't expect. I thought it might be a little higher, to save money. Two queen beds, immaculate white bed coverings. Two pillows each. Flat screen TV mounted to the wall. A desk like area with a coffee maker and some coffee fixings. Cups for hot beverages, cold beverages and an ice bucket were on the table. There was a dresser under the TV. In the corner was a tall dorm style refrigerator and a microwave on top of that. The bathroom had a separate toilet and shower. The sink was outside of the toilet. There was a long counter, but only one sink. A metal frame on the wall had a few blankets on top of it and hangers underneath. Attached to the wall next to the frame was an ironing board. The iron worked fine. Laminate floors (more on that later). The door had a chain lock inside, which I appreciated, especially since our door opened to the parking lot. (Each room has a name. We were in the "butterfly" room.) Mattresses were comfortable, but the frames are on wheels. Careful when you sit down on them, as they shifted due to being on the laminate floors. The pillows offered little in the way of support. In the morning, I took a shower. There were these little squeeze bottles of shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. These were enough for one shower, for one person. This was a 2-person room. Both of us brought our own supplies, so we didn't have to fight for the little bottles. The shower has had one of those laminate overlays so that they look nice. If you touch any of the walls, you'll hear the creaks. The long interior shower wall had all these shelves in it, which is kinda cool, but the center section sticks out, so if you stand in the center of the shower, there is a little less room. Water pressure was fine. I walked back to the bed to get dressed. I went to put on my socks and the bottom of my feet were black. The floor was filthy, apparently. I was grossed out. There was an ice machine just a few feet from our door. It was working and had plenty of ice. (Sadly, so many hotels don't have many ice machines that operate correctly these days.) This place was a step up from a Motel 6. But, the dirtiness of the floors totally turned me off. Everything else in the room was spotless, though. Check out the Burger and I next door!

There were fire ants everywhere, and I wish I were exaggerating when I say that cockroaches were literally crawling on both of us during the night. The campground was also very noisy, with loud music until around 10 p.m. and people driving by our tent talking loudly in the middle of the night, making it difficult to sleep. It also felt more like a full-time RV park than a campground, so it lacked the atmosphere we were hoping for. The only real positives were the clean bathrooms and the grassy area for dogs. There is a pool and jacuzzi, but neither was anything special. The pickleball courts are rundown but still usable. Unfortunately, the noise, insects, heat, and overall atmosphere outweighed the positives, and we wouldn't stay here again.

Be prepared to go about a mile on an extremely dusty, bumpy road once you get off the I-8 offramp. So don't wash your car before this trip. Many different ways of staying. I chose a room that was part of a small 6 room motel section, two of the rooms are wheel chair accessible with a ramp & wheel chair friendly shower. The narrow room was clean. Bed comfortable enough. Heater worked well when outdoor night temperatures went down to the upper 30°F's in late November. Price at about $160 per night was expensive considering it is basic accommodation in the middle of nowhere which was fine with me since I value quiet & silence. Close to Jacumba Hot Springs Resort which is rather classy and was my original goal since Jacumba Restaurant Caravan Lounge, where I was dining, was hosting a pop up dinner by noted Chef Brian Redzikowski. After dinner, I got to soak my feet in the heated, curative sulfur spring pool. Unfortunately, the rather large pool at De Anza Springs does not have those healthful sulfur waters. When I called by phone to make a reservation, Patty was very informative telling me: "There is no internet nor phone access at the locked entry gate to the property. So I should receive the new entry code about a day before the reservation date. If not, be sure to contact the main office which closes at 5pm." I assume that if you anticipate getting there after 5pm, it would be recommended to call the office before the 5pm closure to make arrangements for late arrival. De Anza is good for what it is. Basic accommodations that are adequate. Btw, great star gazing for those astronomically inclined. 3 stars

Got day passes for my partner and I on a Sunday for my bday. Got there around 10:30am to make sure…read morewe could get lounge chairs and I'm happy to report that not only did we secure them with great ease, there were at least a couple available lounge chairs around us all day. I've heard its not always like that though so we planned accordingly. Even on a hot summer day in August, we were extremely comfortable lounging here for 6+ hours. We soaked in the Solstice pool on and off throughout the day, laid around on the large and very comfy lounge chairs, ordered delicious drinks at the bar which was just a few steps away (partner loved the cocktails, I loooved the mocktails), and munched on the yummy food they will deliver to you at the pool. They do some cute things like periodically bringing around chilled towels, or frozen grapes, which we may or may not have become obsessed with and making our own ever since...oh and some great musicians were playing that they said was an impromptu performance. Really lent nicely to the atmosphere. Overall, a great way to spend a birthday! Resting, recharging, luxuriating, and unplugging. Would recommend. *Shoutout to Ingrid who checked us in and gave us a lovely tour of the facility which really helped alleviate my anxiety about figuring everything out :)

This protects the fidelity of the mineral water pools. When you first walk up, there is a check-in camper. When you go in, they'll give you the information that you need for your room and stay. We opted to rent one of the private homes because of our group being larger. It was about a 2 block walk away from the resort which wasn't bad at all. The town is very small and you can literally count how many businesses are here. It's pretty cool. It was a very nice visit and I highly recommend coming to this resort and hotel. The 2 mineral hot springs pools are nice. I recommend that you upgrade with a stay so that you have access to the secluded pool, which is really private and a level up. People get day passes, but that only works at the main pool. The main pool gets very, very crowded with day pass attendees. Again, I highly recommend upgrading with a stay so that you have access to the very very nice amenities. There is a restaurant, called Long Shadow, and I'll have a separate review for that. Overall, this was a wonderful and great trip.

I needed to get from Brawley to Imperial, So my first thought was to get an Uber. I tried several…read moretimes with Uber charging my card and then searching a long time before finally giving up... saying that no one is available, try again. So I tried again and again and I tried Lyft several times. All with the same results, no one is available. So I took a chance and called Brawley Taxi. The driver, Maximo, showed up in less than 5 minutes and cheerfully took me to my destination. He was talkative when I wanted to talk, and was quiet when I didn't want to talk. He was courteous to other drivers. And even without a GPS in his car, he was able to find a quicker way to my destination. And in the end, the fair was cheaper than either Uber or Lyft. Brawley Taxi doesn't have a website, or a phone app, or even fancy taxi's. But they get the job done quickly and economically. I would recommend.

It was about what you would expect from a Super 8 Motel. The man at the front was nice. I give it 3 1/2 i stars for it's cleanliness, updated bathrooms, room decor, beds and bedding's . Also location and feeling safe were high on my list. The "breakfast" was just coffee/tea and a wrapped store bought danish. The coffee was not hot (got a cup at 7:30a) and they only had powdered creamer. Luckily there was places near by to grab a good cup of Joe. I wasn't expecting much for a Super 8 Motel so I was surprised! It was a good find for an overnight stop.
