It is very run down, but I can see back in the day it was really nice. The pool is gross, grass is brown and lots of run down fulltimer campers. Someone just bought it and they are renovating it. So it should be in better shape by next year. The lady that owns it is really nice and you can see how she's making it better. Oye! I have such mixed feelings on this place. I'll start with this... For the price per night for rv hookups... it's not worth it and could use a bunch of renovations. There are a lot of permanent or long term residents paying $400-500 a month for a spot when we paid $300 for 3 nights over Memorial Day. Our spot had dead grass and a picnic table that was long overdue for replacement and falling apart at every seam literally. I did like that they have a small beach area and a boat launch area (although the launch area was very shallow!) They had a boat dock at one point but that's been overgrown with plants. They have a rv parking/storage lot. The pool and spa were in desperate need of repair. The spa didn't even heat up and based on prior reviews hasn't been working in years. There a dog park but I wouldn't recommend it unless your pup likes stickers in their paws. The playground is run down and not useable. Everyone was friendly. Although the gate is open 24 hours it seemed fairly safe. I didn't really like the golf carts and kids on electric bikes flying thru the campground all throughout the night. They have a game room but didn't really see the kids hanging out in it. The campsite claims it's a a full service family orientated campground, but it's not really. We've heard from permanent residents that the owners are never around. The latest management just doesn't care about the place. Which seemed pretty relevant seeing as how our spot didn't show a reserved not on it, we weren't greeted by management and when we checked in the next morning after our late arrival were told we were fine. Upon checkout Monday, the office was closed. Such unfriendly and unwelcoming treatment. I can't imagine if our spot had been taken per a camper who pulled in overnight, because apparently they allow that! I'm undecided if I'd come back. It's a lot of money for a lot of nothing. However, I do like the easy access to the river and easy freeway access. Other than that it's pretty much a dump IMO. read more

This is not an RV resort. It's a run-down mobile home/trailer park with a fancy website. We booked one night in our 25' Class C and couldn't wait to leave the next morning. The "site" was just a patch of patchy grass surrounded by permanent residents, old broken-down cars, boats on blocks, jet skis under tarps, and junk everywhere. The picnic table was ancient and broken. No lighting anywhere; once the sun went down it was pitch black and felt sketchy. Tried calling twice before arrival--nobody ever picked up. The advertised "beach" on the lake was a weed-choked mess. The pool was open but looked gross--murky water and definitely not somewhere you'd want to swim. Do not believe the photos. Save your money and your sanity--stay anywhere else. read more

Visited the place recently while travel From Louisiana to California. Booking was simple and site checkin information was available after the office closed. The pool was not maintained and the site need some recent upkeep. The pictures posted being next to the Colorado River is what made me decide to chose this place. I even paid extra for the site with river view. Another concern is at night there is no lighting which made it quite eerie. There is an area to go down to the river if that is something you would like, but on this trip I skipped it. Would like to return once things improve. read more

Maybe this place is nice in the summer? The amenities they claim they have were nowhere to be found. The website shows a restaurant. We arrived nobody was working there. It was a ghost town. All full time residents. There is nice access to the river. Sites on the river are very small and under a gas line bridge full of birds. Took my family camping here for a weekend. The location is great right on the river. However in order for you to get a back in water front spot you'll have to deal with the birds pooping on everything due to the gas pipe that runs across. Had I know that I would have chosen a different spot. Checking in was a breeze because there was no one there, it went very fast. Have any questions? Too bad because no one is there to answer them. I did have someone drive by and greet us and ask us if we needed ice which was nice. Don't know if that was a grounds person or not. The spot itself was very rough. A lot of dead grass and basically no upkeep and a ton of pokers. The building looks very nice however it was very run down. It does have potential if someone would take the time to keep it up. Being that just a week before there was a fire directly across the campsite I would think they would clean it up some. Overall if I needed just a place to stop over night yes but to vacation for a couple days keep looking. read more

Stayed here last weekend with my family for my son's 11th birthday. The positives: located right next to the Colorado River. We reserved a spot to back up out trailer very close to the water and the sights and sounds do not disappoint. There's even a little beach where the currents not to strong where the kids can swim. Also we rented a jet ski from a local rental place and launched it right off their dock. It was awesome. Another cool thing is they have a swimming pool if you prefer that to the river. Also this place is literally right off the 10 freeway in Blythe. Very convenient. I really enjoyed the fact that no one really bothers you here. You can camp freely without being hassled or harassed. The negatives: when we arrived at 3 Friday to check in , we were looking forward to speaking to someone to get some information on the site, however no one was in the office and there was a return sign ib window for the next day. So I assumed that they closed at 3. There's a store where they have drinks and snacks and I was pretty thirsty after the drive but couldn't get anything. Come to find out when I walked in Saturday to find out what time they close the store (4 pm) I asked the lady in the store what time they close , she says 4 , then I said we'll we got here at 3 yesterday she makes a snarkey comment about how she works by herself so she wanted to leave early. It was quite awkward tbh. Also the "arcade" is not kept up at all. That whole section combined with the store are the only downfalls of this place. I would consider staying here again just based on the location. read more

We've had a blast down at the beach area, perfect for taking out the boat, we've swam at the pool, kids had a ton of fun playing the arcade games. First impressions mean everything! Just met Mark and first day in. Love it. We have gone to tons of places to camp with our RV and friends and we typically go with word of mouth, yelp reviews, or what we know. We ventured out here to the Colorado River for the first time. I believe that this place is the closest to our home back in LA. We've been to sketchy places before and even some real high end places. This is place is really not too shabby. It's actually nice, warm, and inviting. Although it's close to the freeway and you may not be super sure about the type of people here, I have had a real welcoming experience. It's very children friendly from what I see and Mark was even so attentive to us. He noticed that we had some kid bikes and scooters and asked if we had reflectors. I was shocked and said oh yea! We don't! Wow how come I didn't think about that?! Right away he handed me some glow sticks and said, here you go! He asked me to not show it to the kids until nighttime. Yup that would definitely excite them beyond the s'mores we've planned for tonight. This place is great! I see tons of potential. Great base camp as we plan to up to Parker, Lake Havasu, and any other adventures the wind brings us. Good work guys! I hope we can rent some water sports in the future. Just returned from a fantastic river camping experience with our young kids (3&5) at The Cove Resort. The kids had a blast sleeping in the Luv to Camp trailer, wading & playing in the sand at the Cove's "beach", riding their scooters & bikes, roasting marshmallows, trying their hand at river fishing & playing in the epic, CLEAN, updated "game room." My husband even got his Donkey-Kong on! We were equally as pleased with the accommodations, as the trailer was super clean, the river-front camp site was a quiet, refreshing view and the mere fact that our kids were happily engaged in the stuff kids SHOULD be doing (tech-free!), while we could be adults, made it all the grander. The store was also well equipped with anything and everything we could've forgotten! No one wants to have to leave a campground once hooked up... The Cove served as an awesome platform for us to check-out from reality, get grounded with our bare feet in the sand & dirt and enjoy "the simple life" that can only be achieved when camping! We look forward to repeat visits to the Cove! read more

Great campground with huge potential. My wife, two kids (4-6) and I camped with our 30 ft. travel trailer for four nights. We reserved a river front spot (F6). The spot had a picnic bench, partial shade and full hook ups (W,E,S). The views of the river and desert were fantastic. The camp sites were average size. River front spots are back in only. We stayed late March during the Covid-19 pandemic and had limited access to certain areas. We were able to use the pool/spa and beach as long as there were less than 10 people. Staff was very accommodating. My son and I fished on the cove. My son caught his first fish!! A small mouth bass. I caught a large mouth bass. A few cons: The grounds are a little dated. I understand the resort was acquired by new owners a few years ago and the new owners have been updating the property. There was no wood burning fire rings on the camp sites. The pool and spa were clean but appeared to be in the need of resurfacing. We all had a great time and recommend staying here! read more

Great RV park right on the river! We have stayed in the "park models" previously and now enjoy it with our class B travel van. The owners and managers are awesome. We forgot our fire pit and firewood during the last visit-- the managers happily loaned us one! And picked up wood for us while in town! Couldn't ask for better customer service. We have been coming to The Cove Colorado River RV Resort on and off since 1993. We became summer regulars/permanents 5 years ago. I can't say enough great things about this hidden gem. The camping spots are huge, grassy and easy to pull into. The entire park is paved; and the launch ramp is easily accessible. The facilities; Store, laundry room, game room, pool, jacuzzi and restrooms are always tidy. It has all the basic needs (and a bit more); but this place is so much more than all that. The Cove is Family, it is a place where the managers know your name. It is a place where the neighbors wave and say good morning when you are out on a golf cart ride with your morning coffee. It is a place where all the kid's parents know eachother and feed them a sandwich on the beach or pull them behind the boat. It is a place where you are respected and others aren't allowed to infringe on your weekend enjoyment. If you are ever in the area stop on in the Store where Sam and Linda will greet you with a smile, buy a cold 12 pack, sit under a tree and dip your toes in the river. If you have more time stay for the weekend, you will fall in love just like we did all those years back. Our kids grew up here and now our grandkids are growing up here. We've stayed many times at this RV park situated on the Colorado River on the CA-AZ state line. Sites are spacious with green grass and palm trees and full hookups with 30 amp and 50 amp. Pull-thrus are available. Two private beaches are on the property: One where you and your pet can explore off-leash and the other made just for 2 legged beings. Being situated on the Colorado, you can put your boat in here and enjoy a great day on the river. Swimming pool, showers, and store round out this friendly, clean park. You're about 15 miles from the famous ancient Blythe Intaglios and just down the road from the town of Blythe. A struggling town doomed by I-10 bypassing it. This is a perfect stop on the way to LA or AZ and also a nice place for a longer stay. read more

First time at The Cove Colorado River Resort. It was an amazing experience for both kids and myself. We rented a cabin that over looked the river and it was just perfect for our family. The cabin was clean and spacious with plenty of beds for all the kids. The staff is very helpful and nice, I love that they have a pool, and you have the option to hang out at the pool or river. The cove is our choice to stay during the summer river season. The place has really cleaned up since the new ownership. Mark is a great guy and the young lady at the front desk is always on top of our reservations. We are able to store our trailer monthly for a reasonable fee and it is always put on a spot when we call ahead, even last minute fridays. The crowd has always been good, not too many rowdy kids and just enough fun adults to have a great weekend. The cove mayor, Terry, is very hospitable. You can find him out there most weekends. Not a false sense of security, just the truth folks. Sure, you should lock stuff up I suppose, but locks only keep honest people honest. And kids are super safe. Is Blythe safe, well that is open for debate, but this isn't BLYTHE, it is on the outskirts, and is gated. High security, nope, but doesn't need to be. Use your head, it is a campground, and not every person in this world is pure goodness, but this park is legit and very safe. read more

This was the worst stay I have experienced in my 52 years. The park is disgusting to say the least. Even being next to the Colorado river could not give this place a fighting chance. The office staff could barely keep it together to check us in the smell of alcohol on them reaked. The maintenance guy I assume riding around on the golf cart could not have tried to make women there feel more uncomfortable. To say the very least this is nor a resort, a "drug addict infestation" would be more suitable. Sorry to whoever the owner is I don't know how you are still running this place anywhere besides the ground. read more

Just returned from our trip yesterday. This was my first time there and I booked it based on the reviews. Spots are a little tight but we had a great spot on the Colorado river, so it didn't even bother me. The had a little rec center for the kids which was nice but could use a little updating. They had ping pong, ladder ball (missing the ropes) corn hole (missing the bags) and some Other video games. They had a little store too with is nice if you forgot something or don't want to drive into town. I still gave it 5 stars even though it wasn't prefect because we had a great time and it was a beautiful view we had and the staff we came in contact with were very nice and friendly. I'm already planning our next trip there in the summer so we can enjoy the river. We stayed here at the end of December while visiting our grandpa in Blythe. Though we booked at the last minute (literally the day we arrived) it was a very easy process. Being winter in the desert, it wasn't very lush (the only reason I didn't give 5 stars) but it was well maintained and we loved that our spot was nice and long! Would love to come back in the summer, especially if the pandemic is calmed down, and use the amenities like the pool/beach and boat ramp! read more

Well, that's really cool! The park has some tight spaces but there is grass and a small beach on the river. Day 1 of 3 and I have to say that this place is amazing. We have a 7 month old baby and this place is pretty quiet at night. Starts getting lively around 830am. Plenty of water all around and the staff are super friendly and helpful! They even escort you back if you come during business hours. I broke a fresh water hose and the staff let me borrow one till we leave. No RV stores super close except Valley Palms which doesn't have everything but can get you by if you need something. Only reason for the 4 Stars is the waterfront spots are a pinch tight and there is limited parking for the haul vehicle. Not complaining. Still amazing. read more

I enjoy the grounds and the easy access to the River. I have been staying here for years. I am pretty disappointed in the lack of customer service from the gals that answer the phones and work in the store. I called for three days in a row and every single phone call went to voicemail, no one ever called me back, I even did an inquiry online with zero response. Fast forward to three days later of calling over and over... I finally did get ahold of someone and the girl (who by the way doesn't say her name when answering the phone) was extremely rude. She really should not be the one answering your phones. If I was the owner I would fire her I'm immediately. I'll pass on spending my money to stay where excellent customer service is not what I will receive from the staff. There's plenty of other places to stay. Out with the old and in with new I guess. 23 years of being a paying customer and referring The Cove to all of my family and friends gone. May not seem like much, but it should. See ya! read more

We just returned from a trip to the The Cove. We went for Cinco De Mayo. My first impression was wow, this place is clean. And big! And the grass was everywhere! Everywhere else on the river we've stayed has not had such a clean, grassy area. Usually rock and gravel, which makes it hotter. Nice beautiful beach, and even better, a grassy &shady dog park for our dog to play. We stayed in a park model, and it had everything you need. The dock was nearby. We had a nice porch and there were chairs on ours and the one next to us had a table on their porch. We also BBQ'd and ate in the community center since it got pretty windy out, which worked out great - as we ended up playing all the games they offered, and met fun people. One guy was watching the large screen tv. The people we went with had two little kids and the whole place seemed very family friendly. We didn't get to use the pool, but it looked clean and refreshing. Overall a great place on the river especially with kids and pets. It's got a good vibe. Oh, and a good fair price. read more

This was the least favorite campground of our entire trip. The park is dirty and unkept. When you drive in, you see off to the left a bunch of stored RV's and then the beach front sites are all located next to a bunch of long term campers. Their marketing team does a great job of making their campground look very nice on their website, but its totally a different vibe and look when you arrive. The trash cans are not emptied, down on the beach or by the bench area. We arrived at 2PM and thought the site we parked in was F2. When we checked out the lady at the front desk was super rude and said she didn't even see out reservation. Then she was like Oh, you were supposed to be in F2 not F3, and that's why. Oh really? The site F2 was completely soaked with a giant puddle in the middle of the site, with no picnic table. That's the site they wanted us to park in??? Good thing we messed that up. Plus all the beach front sites were EMPTY. Then in the morning this guy riding around on the lawn mower at 7 AM in the morning, woke us all up and was kicking grass and rocks all on our RV. Was there any reason he needed to mow the weeds that close to us??? My husband was NOT happy about that because we take pride in our RV and its also brand new. There are also no fire pits. And the pool is closed due to "Covid". Which I think is just an excuse to not maintain and open it because it had a layer of yuck on it. Plus on June 15th, it was the opening up of CA, so they should have had that open. (We stayed on 6/21) The beach front is nice because you can walk down directly to the beach. The beach is small, but could fit about 3-4 families. The water does move fast through this section so you do need to be mindful of the current. read more
