We were given the option to order then, but were told that someone would need to come to the house for the measurements or there wouldn't be any warranty. We scheduled a visit for Tuesday. I don't know who came to the house today (sounds like it wasn't Jimmy), but he claimed the $371 figure was a mistake. He said that was the price for EACH blind, not for all 5. With some minor upgrades to that initial pick, he quoted a price of $591 per 21" x 59" window panel-- or more than $3,000. Seriously? These were the Hunter Douglas duet style blinds -- basically a venetian blind except with a "honeycomb" fabric that permits some light to come in and can open from the top or bottom. Based on Alice's earlier review, it sounds like who you deal with when trying to buy Hunter Douglas blinds in this area can make a huge difference in the quoted price. After this experience, I found and ordered something comparable online at selectblinds.com. Three years ago, New Way Home Decor installed a shade to draw down when the children are sleeping. Within the first month the shade came crashing down. New way home decor reinstalled the shade claiming the ladies are pulling on the shade. Nine months later the shade came crashing down again. Again, New Way home decor claimed the ladies were too rough with the shade. After that incident we no longer trusted the shade and blocked the children from going near the area. Thirteen months later the shade came crashing down again. When the installer came to reinstall the shade again, he stated the shade was cut too short and needed to reach from corner to corner in order to securely install two corner brackets. Previous installations had a corner bracket and a single bracket that was1 ¾ "shy of making it to the corner. We called the owner and informed her of the situation. She stated, "you know this was three years ago. We told her the shade had come down endangering the children three times and the installer said it was cut too short. We paid over $800 for this shade. The owner said she will replace the shade for another $500. The owner had no regard for the children's safety, only lining her pockets. LET THIS BE A WARNING TO ALL FUTURE BUYERS. FIND ANOTHER COMPANY.

I have had some electronic shades in my unit for about 5 years now (under the 7 year warranty) and a couple of shades started to act up and not work properly. I came across this company that advertised repairs on Hunter Douglas shades and gave them a shot with the good reviews. I begin working with Nick who preferred to conduct business via text, which was fine. He had quoted me a specific price to fix the shades. When I had properly arranged for them to be picked up in my building, he never confirmed a set time. After sitting downstairs for a week with my doorman and countless follow-ups with him, the shades were picked up (first strike). After confirming the shades were irreparable and needed to be sent to Hunter Douglas, Nick finally confirmed the shades were in and to leave a check downstairs made payable to himself. He said he would come at some point during the week to drop off the new shades and pick up his check (he quoted me close to double the initial rate, which I spoke to him about and he adjusted, second strike). I went to go put the shades back up in my unit and 1 of them was created too large (from what I was explained, Hunter Douglas creates them off original order and not finished product - FYI to everyone) so there was nothing we could do. After reaching back out to Nick to advise on the next steps, he said I would need to lay out further money for him to send the shades to this company in California that cuts the shades down to fit. After confirming a pickup date, he never showed up and never came the following week (third strike). For what they preached in their slogan to the reviews they had, I was very surprised with the disorganization, unreliability, and lack of professionalism that was shown by Nick.
