Visited here a few weeks back, along with friends who are true fans of the place. THE WINE: Sunce puts out an amazing array of varietals and blends, uniformly tasty, if not spectacular. We've done tasting both from the bottle and from the barrel, and you really cannot go wrong. THE STAFF: Knowledgeable, friendly, enthusiastic, great sales folk without being slick or pressuring. THE PLACE: Tasting room is rustic and pleasant. Outdoor areas are decently set up for events. Barrel area is extensive. Views of the surrounding vineyards are nice. OVERALL: Definitely a place worth visiting and tasting at and probably buying stuff from. I would give them 4.5 stars if I could, but I want to reserve the 5 for a few that were even better. But, again, if you only had time for one place in the area, this would be a fine one to stop at. Caution: it is definitely easy to find yourself signing up for the wine club after some of that generous visiting and tasting. Not that that's a bad thing ...

We have visited Sunce several times and always enjoy their excellent wines and hospitality!

Came in here for a birthday celebration and was not disappointed. They have a great wine varieties, not to mention they all tasted amazing. So either the manager, or the owner(?) approached us and offered us if we wanted to have the barrel tasting, which of course we accepted without thinking any further. Boy we tasted the wine straight from the barrel (duh, it's barrel tasting) and I can safely say it's the most awesome wine experience I've ever had. Their personnel were really nice, friendly, and welcoming. I would say if you ever visit this place (which you should), try Merlot. Their Merlot is AMAZING!! I'd get a whole case next time I'm there :)

What a fantastic winery. The wine at Sunce is outstanding, the grounds are lovely and bocce made it all the more fun! The staff is amazing and the owners are very hands on and friendly. We visited 6 wineries in two days and this was by far our favorite. You can't go wrong with a visit to Sunce!

We visited Sunce during COVID in the summer 2020 and had a wonderful experience! My family has been members of their wine club for several years and we were treated as such. We tasted a variety of red wines and enjoyed them all! They also offer barrel tasting with future releases. The staff were wearing masks and social distancing for safety reasons. Nicole and Janeae were super helpful!! There was one other group at the vineyard and perfectly distanced! I felt totally safe with the measures taken. All of the wine was delicious and the property was beautiful! They had bocce and ping pong and friendly dogs. I hope to visit again

This winery is fabulous. My folks have been coming here for years and are club members. Today a pickup. As wine club members we get free tastings. Today was Nebbiolo and Zinfandel old vines. The Nebbiolo transported me to Italy it is a red which is light and floats on your tongue. Amazing. The Zinfandel 2015 is richer and complex. I tasted it and began hankering for beef sauce on pappardelle or pizza. Scrumptious. They have a sweet tasting room. The staff are enthusiastic and generous. You can see all the prizes they have won, 8 gold medals in 2018! This is a hidden gem.

Easter egg hunting for Easter fun!

Small family winery here in Sonoma County. I've been here a couple times. Great family run experience. We were making plans for Easter. We had family coming up from the South Bay, so we were deciding where to have the party. My BIL and his family said they were going to Sunce for Easter, so we could start there. Excellent idea! Bocce ball, wine tasting, barrel tasting, colored eggs, Easter egg hunt for children AND adults. We brought snacks and enjoyed a few hours before taking the party home. The wines we sampled were excellent. Don't ask me to repeat what they were. Red and White...all very good (I'm bad w/ remembering what I sample). The chardonnay was outstanding. I believe we joined one of their wine programs during our visit (my wife snuck that one in). Good call, close to home...supporting the local businesses. On a side note. My wife's uncle happened to be with us. He pointed out the house in front was his grandmother's house back in the 40's-50's. So it's like visiting family when we visit Sunce. My wife's great-grandfather planted the old vines next door at DeLoach. Anyway, Sunce...excellent small winery here in the Santa Rosa area. Give them a try.

The drive was pleasant and beautiful, and it was a good day to be out. As we approached Le Crema, we were romanced by the surrounding countryside. As we got inside, we walked up to the tasting room and then took our wine and went outside and enjoyed the view and the tasting. It was so wonderful. I wound up buying a couple bottles to take home with me and so did my daughter. A pallet is a very strange thing to explain to people because my taste and what I think about that wines flavors and nuances it really varies from person to person. But I was so impressed with this lovely product. If I wasn't there, wouldn't be those two bottles in my car. When we arrived I was amazed at how beautiful the estate is and the vineyards are well kept and breathtaking. As we entered the estate we were greeted my the host as my friends had reservations and since it was a hot day we did our tasting inside with a wonderful window view of the vineyards. We were each giving a glass of the Pinot Noir Rose which was absolutely refreshing and delicious this was actually my favorite wine. We had wine tasting of both Red and White wines. I am more of a Pinot Noir drinker than Chardonnay. Every tasting we had was really good, but no of them topped that fantastic Rose. Ursula, I believe was her name was our wine host is she was amazing and explained the different wines and the vineyards and where their grapes are grown. After out tasting we had a really nice picnic outside and enjoyed each others company. I would definitely come back without a doubt.

I prefer smaller, less know wineries and even tough Kendall-Jackson and La Crema are in the area, I decided to call unknown places and found this gem! I prefer bubbly or white wines and this place had just started to offer a white flight! I was able to get a booking and the tasting was only $20 to celebrate them being in business for 20 years. Santa Rosa surprisingly has many, many wineries. While driving to Benovia, I must have passed at least 5 other places that were open and offered tastings. Benovia sits on 70 acres of which 20 acres are used to grow grapes, it was a beautiful drive through acres of grapes to get to the tasting room. This place is also conveniently located about 5-6 miles from central Santa Rosa. We were greeted with a glass of their rose, which was delicious. There is plenty of indoor and outdoor seating and since the view was beautiful, we choose to sit outside. It was quiet, serene and altogether gorgeous. There are 5 pours in the tasting, starting off with a nice bubbly, followed by a beautiful Sauvignon Blanc (I really dislike the taste of this particular wine in general but this was unexpected and very drinkable), the rest of the pours are chardonnays with an extra surprise pour. All the wines were delicious but a bit pricey, I would highly recommend!

I am a member thru a sister winery, Buena Vista, so I get all the member benefits here as well. Nice thing about being a member, you can basically taste anything that's open. We veered past this menu and got to taste a bunch of cabs, pinots, etc. I ended up liking the pinot above and got a bottle. Partly cuz it was pretty, but I actually liked it after tasting it. My dad decided to grab the other two bottles above. Since we didn't really have lunch and were heading to an early dinner, we ordered the snacks above. Got the normal 10% off food and 20% off bottles. Service was excellent. We had a great time for the 3ish hours we were here. Also appreciated the extra tastes so we could decide what we wanted to buy. Highly recommend if in Santa Rosa. REVIEW #3837

We've heard a lot of stellar reviews for Iron Horse, so we were underwhelmed by our experience. To start, we checked in at the front, got a glass of sparkling to start, and was told to wait for everyone joining us to get here. We waited for a few minutes. Our host ended up forgetting us and started walking off with the other party when they finally showed up, and the guy we checked in with had to go tell him we were part of his group. I enjoyed the charcuterie box that comes with the tasting, albeit there was some moldy bits here and there. We got the harvest magnum experience ($90/person). They offer more affordable experiences as well. To be honest, I wasn't impressed with any of the wines. I did enjoy the seating experience, the charcuterie box, and the mini impromptu tour everyone was given of the production. The wine itself was underwhelming for the price and as nothing stood out to us, we finished our tasting and didn't grab anything to go. As we weren't wine club members here, the host didn't pay us much attention. Worth trying once, maybe, to see if their wines are to your liking.
