I really enjoyed my time at Harvest Moon Winery. It is a beautiful location with parking availability and a wonderful selection of wines. My friend and I visited and we each had a flight of wines to taste as well as a cheese board. We had the opportunity to meet the owner Randy who shared with us the story of the winery. We also learned about his workers and how he is a small business owner who really cares to provide a pleasant experience for his guests. 10/10 recommend them and would go back! My sister & I were on a road trip adventure on Mon, and my sister was wondering if there were any places in the Napa Valley that make sparkling Pinot Noir. I checked online on Perplexity and found out this place did, so we arrived around 4:15pm. The winery closes at 5pm, and isn't open Tue/Wed so we really lucked out. We went inside and spoke with the nice owner, Randy. We decided on 1 Sparkling Flight for $35 Randy told us to go ahead a grab a table outside and he'd bring it out to us. We started sitting outside, but it was too hot, so we decided to move inside. I did most of the tasting since my sister was driving. I told him I'm more fond of the sweeter sparkling wines so he poured me a taste of his Gewürztraminer, and the Rosé which were delicious. Around 4:30pm Randy asked us if we liked cheese, and we said yes, so was nice enough to bring us out a Cheese board. He said it would have to be thrown away since it was almost closing time. It had 4-5 different cheeses, olives, several different crackers, and what may have been dried red grapes, and figs. It really pared nicely with the sparkling wines. My sister was so impressed she decided to join their wine club for FREE! It's so awesome that these smaller family owned wineries exist. A charming estate with really sweet staff, but the wines leave much to be desired. I came here for a tasting and while I found their tasting room to be adorable, I was disappointed with the wines. Harvest Moon is one of many wineries located along Olivet Road in Santa Rosa. Being a member of Deloach Vineyards, I have passed by Harvest Moon several times over the years, but only recently made it in for a tasting. I love the setup of their tasting room and grounds. It's a cute ol' house that's been converted into a winery, so you instantly get that homey and cozy feeling as soon as you pull into their grounds. They were conducting a few tastings out front on their patio, but I was seated in their indoor tasting space.   The indoor tasting room is also pretty charming. It's small but accommodating and features a fun wine bar and a seated tasting area in the former "garage" of the refurbished home. Service from Kelsey and Savannah was prompt, but they didn't really explain anything about the wines while they were pouring them. I know that everyone has different palates, but I didn't find their wines to be tasty. The white wines tasted overly oaked, almost like the bottles had been left open in the sun all day. The reds that I tried tasted too much like leather and tobacco. I know some people enjoy these wine notes, but it just wasn't for me. Out of all the wines that I tried, the only one that I liked was their sparkling Zinfandel Rosé, but even that was just average at best. Maybe this just wasn't their year for great wines, but I was extremely underwhelmed by the wines that I tasted. The cheese and charcuterie board was delicious though and was great to snack on during the tasting. The dump bucket had an unusually high amount of fruit flies swarming around it. So much so that I couldn't even put my wine glass down because they kept trying to get into it. It was really uncomfortable, especially while eating the cheese and charcuterie board. So, it wasn't the perfect tasting but I've definitely had worse. I won't be running back here for another tasting anytime soon based off of this experience. However, I'd still be open to give them another try because it could have just been an off day and that's totally understandable. read more

Visited Harvest Moon two years ago and enjoyed the Sangiovese Rose. Returned today to purchase more and revisit their wines. Tasting room had several people in it but was able to check in for our 3:45 appointment. Told to sit outside at one of tables. We were given our individual tastings in very small glasses. There was no description or explanation given. After sitting there for over an hour he came back out saying he needed to pick up his son. Not one time were we asked if we wanted to buy anything or if we wanted to revisit anything. Probably one of the worst tasting experiences ever. Will never return. read more

Made a last-minute tasting reservation on a whim and couldn't have been more pleased with my experience. Sue was a delightful host who took care of myself and my mom, who was visiting for the holidays. We both had a great time, and also got to chat a bit with the owner Randy, who was equally pleasant. Atmosphere was good, and the team was very welcoming and friendly during the visit. Food was good for a winery and this place has a lot of potential. My only negative would be their house wine. My wife and I ordered some of the wine that we know from the golf course, and afterwards each ordered a flight of their house wines. Every one of them has a very distinct acetone aftertaste to it. We did not finish any of the wines on the flight, unfortunately. Overall, it's worth a visit here if you want a lowkey place to hang out. Just be forewarned about the house wine. I'd give them a 4-5 star rating if it weren't for that. read more

This was by far, our favorite winery on our trip to the Sebastopol/Santa Rosa area! We made reservations a week before, just in case. It's a cute little winery. My boyfriend had the red flight and I had the mixed wines. We were so impressed with all of the wines! They even let us try some of their sparkling red wine. The sparkling red wine was so unique and refreshing that we ended up buying a bottle. We actually bought 3 bottles from this winery because we liked several of the bottles during our tasting. They were extremely friendly and they have a cute cat that checks in on the guests. We will definitely come back if we are in the area again and will recommend it to others. Came here yesterday for cousin's bachelorette party. Party of 12 girls. Went to farmhouse first, was very fun! Then headed over here for wine tasting. Half of the girls didn't drink wine, but the ones that did loved all the wines! I personally did not drink bc I had to drive right after , but I had the cheeseboards & sparkling wine. Sept 18, 2025 my wife and I were on our 1st full day of California, Napa, Sonoma, Santa Rosa, Petaluma area- WINE Country after traveling from Ohio. We were given the recommendation to visit the Harvest Moon winery after visiting Balletto Vineyards- which was exceptional. We drove in and were the only ones on the patio as work- grape crushing- was going on outside. The beautiful area appeared to be smaller and more intimate and not as commercialized as Balletto which suits us fine. We sat at the outside tables and watched three guys at the crush pad unload bins full of grapes into the crusher. We were in no hurry so we watched the interesting process intently while relaxing. After a short time the proprietor Randy came off the skid steer or tractor and greeted us. We went inside the tasting room and he proceeded to explain what they were doing outside in the tents and the about the wine flights we would enjoy. I had the red flight while my wife( Beth) had the sweet dessert white flight. We sat outside at the tables, enjoyed everyone of the wines in the flights, enjoyed watching the process of crushing the grapes, taking the stems and extra(s) in one bin and checking out the bins full of crushed grapes...with dry ice.. I had to have an explanation of this which Randy did. We had an very enjoyable experience in the totally relaxing atmosphere, while Randy as the working man he is did his thing to make the wines we were enjoying. During a break from crushing the grapes Randy asked us our thoughts of the flights and said he had an extra taste he would bring out for us. He took care of another couple that had arrived for a tasting and had his son bring us some chocolate the was to be paired with our extra tasting. With the extra wine tasting and the chocolate which did pair very well with both the red and dessert flight, we decide to take a couple bottles home with us. Heading out of the area on a Sunday May morning, we made one last stop. Even though Harvest Moon was having a member pick up party, they made room for our party of six. They offered three different tastings menus that day- bubbles, red, or reserves. I chose the Sizzling Reds- 2019 Pinot Noir $42 fabulous dark cherry notes 2018 Alta Mesa Barbera $34 not a heavy barbera 2017 Randyzin Blend $34 a great blend with a fun story 2014 Pitts Home Ranch Estate Zinfandel $50 a big bold flavor for BBQ 2016 Buchignani Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon $42 2017 Estate Late Harvest Zinfandel $32 not your usual overly sweet California dessert wine, more like a port. Appropriately named after the moon's fullness which is nearest to the autumnal equinox, which is around the perfect time to pick grapes for wine, I am simply over the moon for the wines being harvested at Harvest Moon Winery. Located in the Russian River Valley in northern Santa Rosa, Harvest Moon Winery is a boutique winery with an estate tasting room and small vineyard that specializes in producing the region's signature Zinfandel. Thanks to the cooler climate and topography of the region being so varied that they also produce small batches of Pinot Noir, Petite Sirah, Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec, and Sangiovese. What brought a friend and I to this small off the beaten path winery was a deal on the Groupon website, which for 42 dollars we received their traditional six pours under their "Summer Sensations" menu as well as a sumptuous tasting platter that featured a wide variety of cheeses, charcuteries, sourdough crackers and dried fruits. After making reservations for a weekend wine tasting for a late morning during this past summer, the real challenge was finding their winery as their home on Olivet Road is a small side street off of the main River Road thoroughfare of the Russian River Valley. There was ample parking in their private lot and upon check-in with our tasting room associate Nick, we were poured two glasses of their 2020 White Wine Blend, which were sourced from grapes that were grown right in front of their tasting room near their parking lot, and it was a nice blend of Chardonnay and Gewürztraminer and left crisp taste on the palate. From there, we sat down on their outdoor patio area, and Nick presented us with our cheese and charcuterie board while he explained to us the remaining wines that we were able to enjoy this afternoon. We continued with their 2020 Verdelho, which is a Portuguese white varietal that is grown in limited supply here in the U.S. and had notes of pineapple, pear and peach, and set off the various wedges of cheese we enjoyed for our food pairing. Our third pour was their 2020 Rosé of Pinot Noir, which Nick noted was the winery's porch pounder wine, as it was sourced from grapes that were grown on the owner's property a few miles from where their tasting room was located, and its color resembled that of a watermelon jolly rancher. This lovely wine may have had notes of roses and cherry on the nose, but tasted rich with orange zest on the palate. For our fourth pour, we enjoyed one of their few wines that is not grown here in the region, but sourced from the Sierra foothills, their 2018 Alta Mesa Barbera, this non-blended wine's floral may have been fruity with notes of strawberries and raspberries, but it had a nice spice finish to it that made this wine a standout. For our fifth and sixth pours, Nick presented us with two of their signature Zinfandels starting with their 2016 Russian River Valley Zinfandel, which was sourced from three different vineyards a about four miles away from here and a smooth finish thanks to the aroma of sweet tobacco and hints of spices. Their 2017 Estate Late Harvest Zinfandel was more fuller-bodied thanks to notes of blackberries and pepper and managed to pair nicely with a few chocolate squares that we were given for a final pairing. After our wine tasting was complete, Nick was gracious enough to present us with a seventh pour, this time of their 2017 Ice-Style Gewürztraminer, which he explained how the grapes are frozen for nine days and then pressed until pure fructose falls into the pan. This super sweet dessert wine has 14 percent residual sugar and has intense flavors of pear and peach that make it perfect for an after dinner drink. Nick let us know that as guests of theirs today, they were selling bottles at member prices so my friend wound up purchasing a bottle of their Barbera and I did the same with their Estate Dessert Gewürztraminer because there are only a handful of local places where we could purchase both of these wines and we thought why don't we do so here at Harvest Moon Winery? The wines tasted so perfect at Harvest Moon Winery and when paired with a nicely plated cheese and charcuterie pairing, it was the perfect way to spend a warm summer afternoon. It's rare that a winery grows practically all of their own grapes for harvest and then turns them into lush wines that are barreled and bottled on site as well, but at Harvest Moon Winery they are proving you'll be over the moon once you sip and savor every one of their wines! read more

If you like light, elegant wines - this place is for you! I found a Groupon so we tried this place out. It's very intimate but not much too it. I don't think I would pay full price but the Groupon deal was def worth it to try the place out. The wines on both white and red flights are super light, just not for us. The display of the flight was super cute but really difficult to enjoy the wine as it's intended to in a proper wine glass. The Groupon comes with a cheese platter which we loved! The cheeses are from local farmers within a few miles from the winery. I tried to buy the cheese and crackers but they only had the cheese available for purchase. We probably wouldn't come back bc the wine wasn't for us but would definitely recommend to someone who prefers lighter wine. read more

We enjoyed our wine and cheese tasting here on a Saturday afternoon. We had a groupon for the tasting. Although it was crowded inside, their back patio was very peaceful and uncrowded, so we sat at a table next to a heat lamp. The first four wines we were brought we just ok - they tasted a bit on a bland or watered-down side. However, the last two wines were sweet dessert wines and they were delicious. My favorites by far! The cheese platter was pretty good too, especially the sharp cheddar. The service here was great. Stopped by with friends in town for a few days. Michael was running the show and he seemed a bit overwhelmed when we got there plus he was infatuated with my Advanced Sommelier accreditation. He has a very friendly tone to his service. I wanted to taste mostly reds and the sparkling dry Gewürztraminer and Michael accommodated all of us with a taste and it was exquisite. Brut style with flavors of Floral with tropical fruit, asian pear, a bit of honeysuckle, ginger, and leeks, nice with some minerality. Then we tried a white wine, a Chardonnay was okay, then a Zinfandel, a Pinot Noir, a Syrah, and we added the Cabernet Sauvignon which was nice classic style for a Sonoma Cab, then finished with a late harvest Zinfandel. Quite tasty with a hint of sweetness. We also had a cheese tray which Michael had to make while dealing with us and 3 other tables. He did a great job with it. He also had us try their gutsiest red at the end a red blend of Sangiovese, with some Cab? And Petite Sirah. It was excellent and a real treat!! read more

Omg. This winery. I come here for two reasons: 1. the absolutely charming outdoor tasting room and 2. the completely creative wines- nothing like you'll taste anywhere else. Randy, the winemaker, is an artist. He takes a lot of creative license on his blends, and man oh man does it pay off! Who else would think to blend a Chardonnay and a Gewürztraminer, 50%/50%?! Randy would. Plus I love their focus on some pretty fun, delicious, and creative sparkling wines! This is one of the only places I trust to consistency put out amazing bubbles. The vibe is pretty chill- you can sit back and enjoy the wines, get a bit of an education on the wine, and don't feel too pushed to buy. (Although you'll probably want to buy!) Also, go ahead and spring for the cheese board. These cheeses do just fine on their own, but some of them pair so perfectly with their wines! Worth it! read more

It was a cute space with nice staff but the advertising was too deceptive. We paid $90 for our reservation which per all the prior communications was supposed to be applied to our wine purchase. However, when we got there, we were told that the $90 was just the fee for the table alone and we had to pay for the cost of the bottles which could not applied. When we showed the staff the wording of our booking, even they agreed that it sounds like our reservation payment should have been applied. But they refused to honor the agreement from our booking. This is a cute little place with very light and easy to drink wines. I took the family and everyone tried a different flight. I had the chilled flight but also sampled my moms reds. I have to say I might have liked hers more, but was satisfied with mine as well. The different flight options were great if you go tasting with people who have different wine preferences. We had a groupon for a wine and cheese tasting here. They brought out crackers and five wines and cheeses. I wasn't crazy about the wines, but when the server learned we like dessert wines, he brought out a sixth wine that was super sweet. They also brought out extra dark chocolate for us. They have a parking lot that handles about 12 cars and we were the 12th car today. What luck. There was a cute cat walking around. She was clearly the owner of the place. read more

It's a lovely setting, the cheese plate is scrumptious and of course the wines are as super flavorful well. Good balance of red, white & rose'. There is a great array of types to try. You can really taste the descriptions of the wine flavors. I highly recommend this wine tasting trip. You feel like you are out of the area, but you're just on the outskirts of Santa Rosa & it's easy to find. My experience at harvest moon was truly one of a kind. Being a wine club member at quite a few wineries in the past few years has made me understand that it's not always about the wine culture. There is absolutely delicious wine everywhere in the region and lots to appreciate about Sonoma county. What made our experience truly special at harvest moon was the hospitality and the culture. I felt so comfortable the minute we entered. We were greeted with positive faces all around. Every employee was extremely attentive and helpful with their guests. What made it even more special was meeting randy, the winemaker and owner, himself! He takes such pride in making everyone comfortable and has such a passion for wines. The wines are truly amazing! We tasted such a variety and loved most of them. I haven't experienced many sparkling zinfandels and i was surprised to find it actually quite good. I ended up walking out with the barbera, the Pinot and the Verdehlo. I found their reds to have a peppery feel but extremely smooth and warm. The verdehlo was delicious. I had to grab a bottle for the beginning of summer because of how refreshing and smooth it was. It reminded me of a Sauvignon Blanca with a little more extra flavors. I will begin by saying my wife and I have been here multiple times and have always really enjoyed the wines and the service. We had an appointment that I made online and also picked 2 different flights of tasting for my wife and I and the charcuterie plate. We showed up at our appointment on time and were greeted and were sat down at a table outside. When the girl came back she started to explain the different flights. Thats when we explained we already picked them. So she left then came back a few minutes later saying she found it. She started out explaining each wine. Then she kept getting longer and longer between between each pour. Definitely not the attention we are accustomed to receiving here. On top of other things she did not even bring us a napkin for the food. Lastly, there is a sign as you enter the property stating NO DOGS. As we sat tasting a couple came in to taste with a dog. The owner of the dog had to get up multiple times because it was walking around. Savanah even brought out a bowl of water for the dog. Very disappointed in the experience. read more

Had the whole day planned out, drove 1:30 hour to Santa Rosa. Had the Groupon code for this spot. It said walk ins are welcome, so we walked in and apparently the whole place was being ran by one person. So we waited 10 mins in the front just for the lady to come and say that she has no spots until 2-3 hours later. Because it's going to take her time to make the cheese platter. Definitely don't walk in this place because there might be time only one person is running around taking 15 people. Very bad service. Wasted time driving there and took her 30 mins to to just look at the computer and check, she definitely didn't look interested in taking us in. And don't understand how one person is running the place. Very bad experience, not coming back. read more
