Rachann the owner and her manager Michelle are great working with and communicating. When Max passed recently at 11 due to cancer they sent us a very nice card that meant so much. Maisey (4) has only ever known life with Mac by her side. This caused nervousness, confidence issues , and upset tummies for a few weeks. They were nice taking her up day camp with no notice and seeing that she got a bland broth and rice diet to help. Now her new little sister Cammy (10 months old) a rescue from North Carolina is getting her shots and stuff to clear the way for visits. Everyone from their staff can't wait to meet her. What my wife and I love is that they love our puppies nearly as much as we do. I wanted to say thanks so much for your care and compassion with Max! It made an impossibly hard time a bit easier knowing that he impacted their lives and to know they were sad as well. Our neighbors all trust Mariah-Belle with their dogs too. My dog loves the Day Camp activities. I've also boarded my 11 year old terrier and young Vizsla for long weekends. The staff catered to both their needs of spoiling and medicating my older dog and playing with my young dog. The owner and staff all truly love dogs! It shows in everything they do! You can really tell when your dogs jump out of the car and run to the staff! They truly care! Another reviewer commented on an illness outbreak earlier in the summer. If you take your dog to a park or a kennel, you are taking a risk. My young dog did pick up a virus only once in the last year. It wasn't kennel cough. And my older dog didn't catch the virus. It stunk to see him sick, but we humans pick up various colds from time to time. That said, I've never seen an owner be more diligent in resolving a problem. The staff immediately called to check on my dog. The owner called all the local vets to identify the type of virus and then immediately implemented a specific cleaning regimen to kill that particular virus. I've been kenneling my dogs over the last 25 years at a number of places. I trust Mariah-Belle Manor! My dogs love absolutely love going to Mariah-Belle!

Unlike the other groomers in town I could come right over and we were seen immediately. A few weeks later later my pup's right ear had still not come up so Kristin was willing to help me apply a moleskin brace to prop up the ear. Upon entering the grounds, you pass by a cute little Zen garden. There are two doors. One is for drop off/pickup, the other for payment, etc. This is great because Schatzi gets super excited whenever she sees me, making paying for her services a liiiittle difficult at times. So I dropped her off with a very kind, welcoming staffer, and then continued in to the office area. They were so helpful in determining the best customization for her. She has sensitive skin, so we went with the oatmeal shampoo, and I had lost her furminator brush (I know, bad mom), so her shedding had reached crisis level. They were so understanding and totally fine, assuring me that they would not only use the deshedding conditioner, but would totally brush her out. After settling everything, I asked if it would be possible for someone to show me around. They were more than happy to give me a tour, and I soon saw why! this place is immaculate! The indoor play areas were bleached after every group, and there was no dog smell at all! Very impressive. Here my guide informed me that some people drop off dogs just for a play group, $7 for one, or $14 for both am and pm. Great deal! I decided here to tack on a post bath play group for Schatzi. Then it was on to the kennel room. There were all different sized kennels for the dogs, but all of them were more than sufficiently spacious. They had really neat systems and charts on each kennel with a picture of the dog and any special needs or dog aggression (they do board aggressive dogs, but announce over their speaker system if they are taking an aggressive dog out, so they don't run into any other dogs and create anxiety. All the dogs we walked by seemed content. They even provide bedding for dogs boarding so they're nice and comfy! For elderly dogs or dogs requiring more comfort, they even have nice slightly elevated doggie cots! Also, if dogs live together and prefer to be together when boarding, they share a kennel, which I thought was very nice. The only dog who jumped up when we walked by was Schatzi, awaiting her bath. They also informed me that when all the dogs are out they do a bleach mist to kill any airborne bacteria! Very cool. Next we went outside. Their play areas are very cool, even with kiddie pools for water loving dogs! Their groups are on concrete, so messes are easier to clean and safety can be assured for all puppies! After every single group, they bleach and rinse the entire play surface to ready it for the next group. On coming back in, I saw the bath room where Schatzi would get her bath. Very adequate. There was a nice carpeted non slip ramp to make it easy for dogs to get in. The girls on bath duty were very sweet, too! I had no worries. On leaving, I tacked on that extra play group, and left to return later that afternoon. When I got Schatzi, she looked amazing! She honestly looked like she'd lost 20 pounds with all the fur they shedded out of her! Best of all, she was happy! Also, I was shocked by how much all of this cost, in the best way possible! The bath alone was a mere $32!!! With the shampoo and conditioner upgrade, deshedding, along with the playgroup, AND a custom doggy tag order, my bill was only $75!! I will be boarding her this coming weekend. They have a daycare option where they are out playing from 9-4, in addition to their 4 daily walks. This is $22, and well worth it to me knowing my baby will be happy with friends. Weekends they don't have full daycare, but they still do the walks, and I signed Schatzi up for morning and afternoon play groups. I wanted to address some of the things the owner said to my husband and me yesterday…read more She implied that I was lying on Sammy's ( my Yorkie's) intake papers. I do take offense at this. I reread what I had written on the papers. I do not lie. The information was accurate. Sammy is a 5 1/2 pound - 1 1/2 year old Yorkie. The owner complained that Sammy was digging when left outside alone. (Yorkies like to dig in the dirt!) The owner commented that my puppy didn't like to be alone. On the paper I wrote he is very friendly. She was not at all sympathetic; that we had recently lost our beloved eight-year old Yorkie, Dundee, Sammy's best friend about a month ago.) Due to that, yes, I agreed with the owner, Sammy does not like to be alone. I do not find this as a fault, but rather an endearing quality. We were appalled that the owner would put a 5 1/2 pound Yorkie in an open field/pen with no covering without any regard to possible hawks. This is unacceptable. Has she not ever seen a hawk swoop down and pick up a small animal? It happens very quickly! So no, Sammy has never been left outside alone nor should he be. And finally the owner added that our puppy was not welcome back to Chateau Barkingham kennel. This was a bit beside the point because in our minds, we already had decided he would never be brought back to this establishment. The owner is not at all versed in dealing with puppies or very small dogs. When we returned home we talked to Sammy's Veterinarian. Our Vet was shocked at the "faults" found in Sammy. All ridiculous. Best of luck with your business, but don't expect any positive reviews to your kennel from us!

The kennels are pretty big, it is indoors and they are small rooms with TVs, seriously. But she gives them outdoor time to be dogs. The owner is way in to the dog whisperer school of dog obedience, I am clearly not...but if she wants to fight the inevitable, more power to her. Every time we go on vacation, this is the first call we make.

Sometimes around holidays he even comes home with a scarf suitable for the occasion ;) Miss Gail has been grooming my Boomer puppy for ALL of his 15 years (except his first grooming before I met her, but more on that in a minute). She is AWESOME!! Very friendly. Very knowledgeable. Boomer loves her! Any time I put him in the car to go anywhere else he gets nervous. But when I tell him we're going to Miss Gails and start driving in her direction he calms down. She's got a cute little fire hydrant outside in her yard for the dogs to use before and after they go inside. I always make sure I give him a chance to use it before taking him in. And he has never gotten sick after being there. One time when he was really little I took him to Petsmart for his first grooming before I knew Gail. He threw up when he left there. That's when I decided not to use Petsmart and sought out a groomer with a personal touch. Miss Gail was exactly who I was looking for! Miss Gail's voice recording specifically states that for the SAFETY OF THE DOGS, she may not always be able to get to the phone so please leave a message. I would much rather leave a message than have her risk the safety of my dog while he's up on the table! Miss Gail's rates have always been very competitive and have remained constant over the many years I've been using her services, despite rising costs and a crumbling economy. In fact, I think I've been paying the same rate the entire 15 years! She does not expect a tip and is always very humble about accepting what little I give her over the holidays. Many times she doesn't even know how much I am paying her, as she is busy working with a dog when I come in, write a check, and lay it on the counter. Again, for the safety of the dogs she does not leave one unattended while working on them, even for a second! Miss Gail has been very accommodating to my schedule over the years. Boomer has a standing appointment every 6 weeks as does most of her clients. That means he's there with the same dogs each time. That makes it less stressful for him as even though he's around dogs not in is family, they are familiar to him. Throughout the course of Boomer's life I have had 4 children. Miss Gail even worked around my kids' nap schedule when they were little! And when I was in the hospital having my third child my mother in law was VERY VERY late picking Boomer up (HOURS). Miss Gail stayed at the shop and waited for her to come get him. She was very understanding and didn't even charge me extra for having to wait around. I felt HORRIBLE that it happened and when I apologized she told me not to worry it was no big deal. And now that Boomer is very old and sick she is even more accommodating. She makes sure to take care of him early so I can come get him and bring him home so he's not there too long. She calls me as soon as she's done with him so I know he's ready to be picked up. I will miss Gail very much once Boomer is no longer with me as my other dogs are of the shedding variety....although she will STILL be my go-to gal for nail trimmings and the once a hear shaving of my beagle ;)

The prices are incredibly reasonable and she is always willing to work with your schedule. Nice early drop off time and she lets you know when your dogs are ready as soon as they are done.
