If you're lucky enough to reach the phone system, you're rewarded with horrible sound quality they probably call music, constantly interrupted by lame advertising. It's exhausting. You lose patience, time, and goodwill long before you ever reach a human being. Geek Squad was once a reason to trust Best Buy. Today, even scheduling help feels like an endurance test. We looked up and on a very tall ladder we were being greeted by Derek. He finished what he was doing and came right down and began answering questions for us in regards to the sets. We showed him the set we had seen online. He was pleased to share with us that they were on sale and available for order. We explained that we were building a house and would not need them delivered until sometime in October. He said that would be no problem and we could purchase them today and the warehouse would hold onto them until we had a move in date. He took care of everything and explained the different accessories and warranty options. We made our way to the register and it was closing time at 7 PM and we apologized for being there after close. He and the other associates we spoke with all said absolutely no problem. That was very kind of them but working in retail myself I know what it's like at the end of the day and being ready to head home. Last minute we decided we wanted look at televisions. Derek graciously and without hesitation walked us over to see the selection and in less than a minute we selected an 85 inch Sony television. We went back up to the front where they were able to accommodate the whole transaction together and set us up with the plan for installation. That call never came. I called a second time, and this time I got AIDEN who told me he never gets anything, including messages, from the managers because he is the lowest person on the totem pole. I then asked to speak to his sales manager JENNY again. Jenny came on the phone full of attitude, excuses, and hostility, and had the audacity and galling nerve to tell me she had other customers to deal with before she can even deal with me. I reminded her that I am her customer, too, and a first-time customer at that, who has yet to receive the equipment and service I paid a deposit for. She was horrible anyway. Patronizing, condescending, hostile, rude, abrupt, not friendly, dismissive - she addressed me and treated me like I was unimportant and not her customer. Their equipment is not cheap and their installation fees are in the high range compared to other similar businesses, and I was about to spend a lot of money and trust them with my vehicle. When I asked JENNY if I were to go ahead with my appointment, will she treat me and my vehicle like her other customers and give me the customer service that their business stands for, she said she refuses to answer my question and not give me that reassurance. Now, that is truly appalling behavior from a sales manager, it shows the lack of integrity and lack of care of this person toward a new customer. She then threw Aiden under the bus and she said he's green, needs training, and new, as if to explain why this kid Aiden gets no customer messages from his managers. My past experiences were gained from multiple home theater setups with complex Denon amps and state-of-art (at that time) arrangements.
