I thought I would give my wife a spa experience. When I got home my wife expressed a desire not to use the spa, it wasn't what she would like. I called the store less than 2 hours later and asked them to cancel my order and months later I am still being charged. I write the store and they sent me an emailed agreement and said, "read the agreement". They use the same cleaning cloth over and over to wipe down the beds! How is this hygienic? The reason given is because they would have to use to many rags due to having several hundred clients per day. Then they need to use paper towels for each bed If they are to lazy to do laundry! This is just gross! read more

I'm from out of town (NYC) and in Virginia Beach for a short while. I was looking for somewhere to do a couple drop in tan sessions...little did I know I'd find this gem AND that they offered a free week trial. As if it couldn't get any better...two spa services were included and the service was impeccable! I'm a black girl so I always get the sense I might get weird looks as I walk into a tanning salon lol but that wasn't the case! I 100% felt welcome and realized this place is so much more than tanning. From the first day, Bridgette blew me away with how knowledgeable she was on the fifty million systems this spa has. As she was walking me through my tour, she was able to provide insight on which systems best suit me specifically. I felt like she aced that tour, and this is from someone who didn't walk in with any expectation. It wasn't salesman like, but instead like a friend giving you the authentic rundown. Celeste and Baileigh were also super helpful! I could tell all three of these ladies were carrying a load of what I'd expect 5 people to do and they did it seamlessly. I think it's time for a raise lol. My favorites were the fit wrap, infrared sauna, poly, and the tanning bed with the carribean option. I'm sad Sundays isn't in the NYC area...can't beat these prices and customer service! read more

I'm giving Sundays 2 stars because I like the amount of options they offer and SOMETIMES you'll get a worker I. There who is very kind to you and open to explaining things. However, I don't agree with their business practices. They're rude and aggressive. Their contract states everything so be sure to read it in its entirety prior to signing. Record all of your conversations with them whether on the phone or in person as I can assure you they're doing the same so they can use it against you later. I called to cancel my account and I felt almost bullied into thinking I was in the wrong. I wasn't asking for a refund, I was only making a complaint about how I was still being charged after calling to say I wanted to cancel months ago as well as requesting to not be charged again and the woman on the phone was the opposite of kind and understanding. Zero apologies were made on their end. Just constantly coming at me with what I should've done instead and informing me that I'm in the wrong over and over again. Horrible customer service. 10/10 would not recommend Sunday's. read more

This place itself is lovely and the employees are great but Sundays Blue Box IN GENERAL is a complete scam. They will tell you one thing then charge you up the a$$ when you try to cancel or freeze your account. Make sure you read the fine print when you sign the contract. The worst business I have ever dealt with. I froze my account before deployment. On deployment I get notified that my credit card had maxed out. Turns out, they never froze my account and charged me full price for 6 months before my card finally maxed out. This card should have been fine with my automatic payments through all of deployment. But now I had a big mess to straighten out. I told them what happened and they kept telling me I didn't freeze my account. Finally, I talked with someone who actually looked and found my freeze paperwork. So now they would have to reimburse me, right? Nope, they kept avoiding my calls, emails, everything. They illegally charged me 300$ and never payed me back. You are the worst. read more

RIP Off! They will take your money at all costs, with no regard for any circumstance. I signed up in May 2021. June 11 2021, I shattered d my tibia and snapped my ACL and MCL. June 16th I had no answer from sutomer care, so I left a very detailed message about the issue and requested they canx or freeze my account until I was done with surgery. I got zero response. I then called mid July when my payment was declined. No response. Finally, I was able to tan for two weeks before my next surgery. They wouldn't change my plan from a spa pkg (that I can't use due to the surgery) to a low plan for tanning only. So I asked for a canx on Aug 28. They ended up charging me again in September, TWICE. I called to canx yet again on Sept 21 and she assured me it was all handled. I also disputed with my credit union. Today is Oct 18 and I got charged AGAIN. She said I needed a 30 day notice. Are you kidding me! I've given 3 months notice! They now have $180 in tanning money that I can't use! I had to dispute with my bank yet again! They will never truly canx a plan and should be shut down for shady practices! read more

It would be nice if they would be upfront with you. I signed up for two month special only. Before two months were up, said still didn't want to continue. I get a phone call telling me I owe them for this month and have to go in to do paperwork to cancel. And as you have to do it 30 days out, I will owe another month. I haven't been in 2 months. What a corrupt business. If you go, make sure you have the paperwork to cancel months in advance because they will not tell you that it is require to cancel. What garbage! read more

A place I used to frequent pre-covid, walked in today was ignored for a solid five minutes, I was the only person in the store besides the associate. I said I'd like to do the usual one session after I was finally acknowledged as a living body and she proceeded to not stop talking for the next 5-6 minutes about 55 specials, all different and incredibly confusing, albeit perplexing to someone whom had already made their intentions clear. Understand, I've been coming here for at least 3-4 years infrequently, maybe 12-14 times per year, the cost is always the same $6 for a 20. minute session. After I declined every offer know to man that she tried to sell me she then said, no problem, that'll be $11 today, so of course I inquired about the price, reasonable I thought. In my mind, business must be down, can't lose a customer so there must be a realistic answer for a 90% price increase. Nope, the answer was "the owners decision" and I said great and thank you, I'll go down the street where someone cares about the customer and she watched as I walked out the door and said "Have a nice day". That's the end of the story, I'm happy and I suppose they are as well, one less customer to have to explain 55 specials to 10-12 times a year. read more

Over the holidays my debit card got updated and tried updating it multiple times over the phone WITH NO HELP. It was very frustrating which would of given this company 1 star. But thanks to Gloria, the manager, she instantly took care of the problem with no question. She apologized and was super nice with helping me. Most people don't care and try to sell you the products, but she wanted to take care of what upset me first. Greatly appreciated. read more

Not sure why all the reviews are so poor. I joined this tanning salon about a month ago and wanted to wait a bit before posting a review. Every time I go in, the ladies working the front desk are very helpful. There are always beds available no matter what time I go in. The lotions and products often go on and off sale, and there are a large variety of them. Even the clothing they keep in stock is of good quality and cute. I invested in the membership that is the most expensive, but for less than a monthly massage establishment, I can use an amazing massage chair, burn calories in the cocoon and look my best. read more

They make it as difficult as possible to cancel your membership. I called. I tried to do it online. I could have even mailed a letter if it would have been accepted but NO I was told I had to come in. I had a membership 6 months longer then I wanted because of this, which is exactly their plan. I ALWAYS enjoyed my visits and the the ladies where always professional and kind and for that I would recommend them as a business but DO NOT sign up for a commitment. I accepted a new job where I was forced to travel, work odd hours and am the father of an active 4 year old so it made it extremely difficult to make it by a location. And then the final straw was I couldn't just cancel, I had to pay for another 30 days that I will not use. I truly hope you change this policy because it is not user friendly at all. read more

Very upset with how my situation was handled. What customer wouldn't be when they are promised something before spending a large amount of money for the establishment to not follow through! I always liked to take advantage of their Cinco de Mayo BOGO sales on yearly memberships. Well last year in May (2019) before purchasing again I had discussed with the woman that my husband and I were planning our first pregnancy and didn't want to spend the money and then miss out if I got pregnant quickly. She assured me that because that is a extenuating circumstance (pregnancy) that they would be able to freeze my membership throughout the pregnancy. I found out I was pregnant in Feb, then COVID hit in March and I had the hardest time trying to follow up with someone. No returned phone calls, nothing. So I recently saw an advertisement for Sundays and it made me remember no one followed up with me. I'm due to give birth at the end of this month and I called to follow up and was told there was nothing they could do because the type of membership I got it called a upfront and they aren't able to freeze those types and they aren't sure why someone told me that. So I just wasted hundreds of dollars on a tanning membership so that someone could make a sale off of me. I feel like I'm being punished for getting pregnant. I was VERY upfront with the woman about trying to conceive would not have bought the BOGO had they told me this is not something they'd be willing to accommodate. I've been going to Sundays since they first opened in Virginia Beach, something like 20 years ago. It's been awhile since I've had a membership because my gym offers tanning with my monthly membership so I haven't bothered with Sundays in awhile. However, I needed some new tanning lotion and Sundays has a large selection of the newest lotions out there. The staff is also very knowledge of the products they sell. The beds are undoubtedly the most technologically advanced beds out there. They have 5 levels of tanning available and spray tanning too. They offer different membership plans that fit your budget and they even offer blue bucks. Blue Bucks are earned when you purchase products, like lotion. For every dollar you spend on products, you earn blue bucks which can be used for tanning or upgrades to your tanning. The blue bucks allows you to tan without having a monthly membership plan. The facilities are always super clean too! I've never been disappointed with Sundays. read more

Only downfall is they do "not" have the Blueberry, Alpha or NEW Level 6 beds. If they did, I would "never" go elsewhere. I have to go to the VA Beach Blvd location for those services. read more

I had to switch tanning salons when I moved away for college and I'm so happy to be back at Sunday's after moving back to Virginia Beach. Everyone's super nice and helpful, but I have to mention Thirzia because even after 5 spray tan sessions I still come in asking how to pose in front of the nozzles and she'll come from behind the counter to show me literally every time. She's extremely patient and knowledgeable, and always happy to help. They also offer really great packages and many more services than just tanning. Overall a great place to tan. read more

I've been a loyal customer since 2009 payments made every month not once late! I guess this past April my payment didn't go through. Kelsy did call me to let me know, I called my bank I guess i was like a few dollars short. long story April still not paid but my May an Jun are I went to tan last and was denied because I still owe April wth they will not work with I can't even cancel or freeze my account til April is paid I also can tan their customer service really does suck! This place is a joke! I have never in my life been treated like that before as a customer. I had money in my hand to pay for a package and the employee couldn't even explain it. They charge your card twice for month so it's not 59.00 for one month but 120$ because you pay again to cancel it. Wish people could explain what their company is selling. I am currently in the Virginia Beach area for only a few days on business. It's been kinda rainy/cloudy and I wanted to get my tan on before heading home. After looking around I decided to go to Sundays. It had great reviews. I found the place easily with its big SUNDAY sign. I walked in and the place was nice. I was was greeted with a half ass "hiiiiii" from two workers behind the register. I walk up and I am about to inquire about the beds and prices when on lady says "Last name?" I let her know this was my first time at this salon and I was about to ask my question when she gets a clip board an tells me to fill it out. It was a standard indoor tanning getting to know you/consent form. She then asks me if I want a membership. I tell her no thank you because I'm only here for a few days. So I fill out my stuff and she shows me the beds/prices. I pick a level 3 bed for 16$. I asked bout sample tanning lotion and she immediately shows me a basket on the counter where they are 3 for 10$. She suggests the Dazzeling and I'm in2u samples. I get directions to my room and get situated. The room my bed was in was a little small. But I had enough room to do what I needed to do. I was disappointed to find the tanning lotion the lady in front "recommended" smelled like self tanner. I understand thats an ingredient but i didn't expect to have this oder of self tanner on me. I like stiff that smells good. The bed was clean and I got a little peppermint candy. Yay. I stayed in there for 14 min which may have been too long. There were directions on how long to stay in kind of hidden on the bed itself. I kinda wish the lady behind the register would have said something knowing it was my first time in their salon with their tanning beds. Oh well. Over all I got what I needed out of the place. It is defiantly not the best place I've been to but I'll probably be looking at other tanning places before going back. read more

The beds are ancient, small, and don't even get you tanned! I was cold when I got out of their Tier 5 (best bed). It's only $80/unlimited per month so I signed up. Now I have to go "un sign up". It's the biggest chain around here and I do not know why. The girls at the front are nice enough but not knowledgeable about tanning. In addition, they are ALWAYS eating behind the counter. It grossed me out to smell broccoli and onion dip and the next day greasy Cheese-Itz. The place is very disappointing & I'd really like to leave with a tan one of these days. Ugh. I do not reccomended this place....at any of their 977 locations (really 19 locations). Summary: WASTE OF TIME, POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE, OLD HALF WORKING BEDS!! read more
