Amazing decor and 20's Jazz give this bar the feel of a Boardwalk Empire set. The Kickapoo Sour really stood out as the best cocktail with the on draft Old Fashioned being very nice as well. We sat down at a booth and waited 10 minutes for someone to take out order....i finally walked up to the bar and placed my order which really sped up the process. The bartenders were friendly and skilled and I have to say that this will probably be a go-to for me from here on out. read more

I've never seen a bartender make a drink, taste it and then pour it out. If that isn't evidence of quality I'm not sure what is. Lane, our bartender, was really incredible. We told her what we liked and she ran with it. She wasn't annoyed but excited to show off her skills. She made a drink tasted it and didn't approve. She told me the pineapple juice had some ginger in it and she wanted pure pineapple for the cocktail she made. Wow. To see someone invested in your experience is hard to come by. This place is amazing!! It's exactly the addition OTR needed. While I love dropping by the Lackman for a drink while waiting 4 hours for my table at Bakersfield (worth every minute of the wait), it's nice to have an option of drinkeries. It's a great spot to go at the end of the night for a nightcap or just to sit and have drinks with a group of friends at one of the plush booths. I even heard a rumor about some kind of summer specialty drinks COMING SOON that I cannot wait to try! If you haven't been yet, PLEASE go. You'll be doing yourself a favor. Sample all of the delicious made-to-order, fresh-squeezed cocktails while sitting in a beautiful atmosphere that is not only unique to Cincinnati but unique to any bar I've seen. read more

Cozy little cocktail bar, with good drinks for whatever your alcoholic fancy is. They are serious about the cocktails, but the rest of the menu is great, too! We went with a group on a Saturday evening and it was pretty crowded. Didn't have a problem getting drinks though, and if you like a hopping bar, this is a great place to go. I would probably prefer to go in a smaller group on a night that is less busy, but that is my personal preference. Love the décor, especially the patterned foil tile ceilings! read more

This bar is one of the best and most eclectic ones that I've been to in OTR. From the outside windows, this place is designed to make patrons (sort of) feel like they're in an old apothecary. They even have old time prescriptions as the wallpaper outside of the unisex bathrooms. Just don't expect to pick up some castor oil while you're here. The drinks are prepared with some of the best pizzazz that I've seen in the greater Cincinnati area and actually taste good to boot! This bar can get a bit loud when the crowd grows after 10/11 pm, but not so loud that it spoils the experience. Definitely going back. read more

This little gem sits catty-corner from the Lackman and is easy to miss. When you enter you will find a bar to the left and a few well-kept booths on the right. Very dim lights and underlit alcohol bottles fill this bar. If smoking was allowed in Cincinnati and if I smoked cigars I could totally post up here with a cigar and pretend I was in the mob hahaha. In other words, it's the type of bar you could meet up at to form some elaborate scheme or... not. I liked it. I live next door to this bar. The atmosphere is cool and comfortable...the bartenders are super friendly and very knowledgable. Never had a drink that wasn't prepared perfectly. Only slight drawback is the price, drinks are a bit pricy but if you're just gonna have a couple, it's not bad....but it's tough to stop at two....it just tastes so good when it hits your lips.... read more

This is my day off, right? Let me tell you about a cool watering hole I stumbled into. My wife and I have passed these very doors more than once but I felt it time to finally darken their doors myself, and what a prize I found here in the very heart of Over The Rhine. Sundry and Vice has an eclectic theme, resembling that of an old apothecary shoppe on the outside and continues as you enter with the exposed brick wall accents and a vintage looking bar back. My bartender Jockabo was very personable and the bar itself has a inviting atmosphere. Sundry and Vice is not a place for food, except for the weekend when they have food delivered, but If you are looking for a place to unwind after work, or while waiting for a seat to open up at you favorite OTR restaurant, this is a great place to go. You must try this place, as there's a few in OTR with similar vibes, but in my opinion this is the only one that delivers on the ambiance, service, and drink quality. This is my go-to bar in OTR whether I'm killing time with good company as we wait for dinner reservations at nearby restaurants, or if I'm looking for a cool date night/girls night out place in OTR that stays open late and serves good drinks. Ambiance-Charming. Tucked away around the corner from Vine street, this bar has a speakeasy vibe, with vested bartenders, hardwood floors, and comfortable yet classy seating. It's a little tight when it gets packed, though. From 5-9pm you can expect to see the nearby dinner crowd and older/more mature clientele checking in after work for a drink. After 9pm you start seeing the post-dinner OTR crowd stop by for a stiff, classy cocktail. The music is just loud enough here to let you hear each other while creating comfortable conversation silence. Drinks & Service- Awesome variety of artisanal cocktails that are made with exacting effort, precision, and passion. When the place is packed, service can be slow as there are only a few bartenders, but the drinks are worth the wait. On first order, it feels like the bartenders make the drinks too slow (ordering a round can take some time to make), but you learn that there's a different enjoyment in watching the because they turn bartending into a show with their artistry. Went here to meet some friends during happy hour. We were only going to stay there for a bit but ended up staying there for over two hours. The atmosphere was very hip and lively. Everyone seemed to be having a great time. The Halloween decorations were pretty awesome. Went here for the first time last week with a friend and had a lovely time. We were warmly greeted upon entry and the bartenders were helpful and friendly in helping us pick out our first cocktails. The only reason this is getting 4 out of 5 is because of how small it is. I wish there was a foot more space so more people could come in because it is always crowded. Which is great that it is so popular, but finding a seat is difficult. The cocktails are dangerously good. I've never been disappointed in one. You barely taste the healthy dose of alcohol in each, and they are all very flavorful. I recommend the bartenders choice. You have a quick chat with the bartender about what you like in a drink and they do their magic and bam, your perfect drink is made. It's also fun to sit at the bar and watch the bartenders at work. This look place is just cool. We went here before dinner and had a few custom cocktails. I am not a "gin" drinker but really liked the farmers daughter. My husband loves a classic old fashion and was a bit apprehensive about the "on-tap" old fashion, turned out he really liked and ended up having a second! I also had the "penicillin" with the recommendation of the bartender, it tasted just as the menu described. As a scotch on the rocks lady, this one was pretty good for more of a mixed drink, I would order it again. When we arrived on Tuesday at 6:00pm, the bar was fairly filled with only one staff member so, as a first-time visit it would have been nice to have a bit more timely service and some context for the drinks/way this place works. Later during our time there a second staff member joined behind the bar so timeliness of service quickly improved. We would go back if we had later dinner reservations down in that area. read more

We visted on very busy Saturday night, we managed to luckily grab a table. The decor beautiful, really part of the atmosphere. The drinks menu had so many choices, I was wanting a cocktail and they all sounded so good, if you are wanting to get your drink in a rush this is not the place for you. The staff really take their time to make the perfect drink, yiu can tell they take great pride in their craft ,I chose the bloom of youth, excellent flavor and just the very best measures, I cent stand cocktails that have too much alcohol just for the sake of it, this was perfectly blended. Loved this watering hole !! When this bar was under construction , I remember thinking it was a fancy barber shop of some sorts ( exactly !! What was I thinking!!) . And then when you visit , the place hits you with the drinks they have to offer , the ambience , decor and not to miss the dress code of the staff . Very rustic and epic .
