Not happy with my experience here. Extremely expensive for what it is. The apartment was dirty,…read moreyellow residue on the walls, burn marks in carpet, cabinets dirty etc. I had no hot water for a few days upon move in (its still just barely warm at best) as well as a toilet that didnt flush. They were quick to come in to fix the toilet and "fix" the hot water so i'll give them that. Very minimal cabinet space, barely any lights (one in kitchen, one in bathroom, and one right inside the front door that is pretty small), no light in the bedroom or living room and the AC unit does not cool the bedroom. My front door also doesnt close fully without a big shove, so my cats have escaped a few times upon guests leaving. I put in a work order which they marked as complete but it clearly is not fixed. I have paid rent on time for over a year. My automatic payments turned off randomly and they emailed me at 2 pm on a Wednesday (I worked 14 hrs) and gave me till the end of that day to pay rent before a late fee was added. I didn't see the email and they won't remove the fee. As I said, I pay rent on time every month and keep my apartment well maintenance and pay utilities on time and respect the property. My automatic payments randomly turning off, not even in the same month of a lease renewal, is ridiculous and having no grace with it is absurd. edit: they told me there are strict oregon state laws not allowing them to waive the late fee. I did some research and there are no laws stating this. In fact, research says most landlords will waive them for first time occurrences to maintain tenant relations. You have lost a tenant after this lease is up.

I also appreciate how safe and secure the building feels, which adds so much peace of mind. Carlos, Danielle, Shelby, and the whole leasing team are incredible--always so kind, helpful, and welcoming. The building is beautifully maintained, with great amenities like the gym, sauna, and amazing roof top. There are also thoughtful resident events that make it feel like a real community. My unit is bright (so many windows), spacious, and has everything I need. On top of that, the residents here are so friendly and make living here even better. I feel so lucky to call this place home and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great home in Portland!

I like quiet, but I also like to function regular in my place without being a disturbance to neighbors.. regular things like having a convo on the phone, sex, using the restroom, arguments, can all be heard as if the people are in your apartment.. parking is also a bit of an issue too...and things break with no real help... Finally things were fixed in the apt. But in general, you can hear your neighbors cough! You can hear whole convos about private info. So in response to Lake Salish, it's no one specific, it's that the walls and floors aren't sound proof, not even a little bit. Paper thin... you can hear everything. Also the other residents are super friendly so I feel like they've been happy with their living experience as well. When the new management came in nothing was the same ever again. Pool rarely open hot tub, never open, the grounds are filthy, dog poop, not picked up by residence, nobody's ever in the office and if they are, they don't answer the phone unless you block the number. Mold, rats, sinking foundations. Even playing favorites with residence, getting Christmas cookies from Costco for some of the residence, but not the rest. When McKenzie and Laura were there, it was amazing, we always got these sweet little Christmas cards and a little token gift every year at Christmas, last year they didn't even put up the Christmas lights. It was extremely depressing and the current owner could care less about the residence. Do yourself a favor don't move there.
