She's so friendly, upbeat, and her demeanor always puts me at ease. As with most OB/GYN's, it's always evident that she's in a hurry but she has always taken time to answer any questions I have. Her new nurse is also very friendly but the lady at the front desk should learn to be more welcoming and kind. I always schedule my appointment to be the very first patient after Dr. Smale's lunch break and have never had to wait more than 5 minutes. Also, I like that when you call the office a person always answers instead of those stupid recorded messages that most doctors have. It has always taken over 2 months to get in to see Dr. Smale so call ahead of time to make an appointment.

I feel comfortable when I have to ask uncomfortable questions. 2. I don't feel rushed. 3. She seems educated and competent in the latest in healthcare. 4. She is typically on time (never had to wait longer than 15 minutes). 5. Her staff have been congenial and accommodating. 6. She has a great personality. 7. I have referred several friends to her and they have been satisfied as well.

Sometimes, though, you just want to see your regular doc. It's literally been years...I don't go regularly, but still it's like playing the Dr roulette every time you call. Besides that, I recommend you really know what your insurance covers before going there. The people who work in the lab are well known for mixing up samples that are supposed to be sent out for diagnosis with the ones that are covered being done in the office. My insurance doesn't cover promedica drawing blood, taking X-rays, etc., so I need to go to St. Anne's to have it done even though my visits are covered there. It took getting multiple random bills over a few years before a nurse finally explained to me that actually it's their mistake when I get charged for it, someone just opted to do it in the lab instead of sending it out...but good luck getting your money back from a medical practice. I mean, those poor doctors hardly make any money at all! Especially considering the last few times I've had to settle for a nurse's aide (I have been misdiagnosed the last few times so I will tell them no, that's not ok, next time).

If you are unfamiliar with hospital food you may want to reconsider your preconceived notions. These whipped potatoes are very similar to mashed potatoes in that may have originated as a potato and serve delightfully as a no frills substitute, trust me you will wish you had more or something else. The Pot roast is very consistently cooked and brown and serves a a fat free protein that complements the whipped potatoes. With a bit a brown gravy you will have a beautiful rainbow of earth tones for your taste buds. To continue with our brown theme and also saving the best for last, I suggest dipping a chocolate chip cookie into the what has now become soft serve ice cream, it will soften up the cookie and create something like an MRE ice cream sandwich. The man behind the window at Flower Emergency room was totally rude and did nothing to acknowledge us. We felt invisible and my husband, who was laying down on the chairs as best he could (he is 6'1") got no attention and was in a great deal of pain. There was no one else in the emergency waiting room at the time and when we told the man that we were leaving he did not say a word and just cut off the wristband. We will never go to this hospital again and all the slogans re "Healthier Happy Here" are a PURE RUBBISH! I give Flower Hospital Emergency Room ZERO STARS

In late May, I took my mom to this office to have her toenails cut and filed by Dr Walkovich. Every member of his staff was very friendly and efficient. My mom was extremely impressed by Dr Walkovich's compassionate care. Although her toenails are difficult to cut (according to a previous podiatrist who cut her skin in the process), Dr Walkovich did an excellent job without harming her. He was also very personable. Unfortunately for us, we learned that this doctor was planning to move to Florida. However, my impression of the practice is that everyone there is caring and competent, so I would recommend this office for foot and ankle needs! They also have a practice In Perrysburg, OH that partners with the Toledo location. When I had foot surgery a couple of years ago, I recall the close coordination between the offices and one scheduler handled the appointments. They also take care of X-Rays within the office- super convenient!

Offered a great sense of humor, a thorough and quick exam. Made sure to let us know we were cutting it close to pharmacy closing hours and made sure we had a paper copy of the prescription just in case it lagged in the pharmacy system to ensure we got what we needed that same night. We have been here a number of times now, and it is always the best experience. I called prior to our visit to ask about out copay and was audibly concerned and stressed, and the receptionist reminded me to take a deep breath, and let us know they'd get us taken care of before we even stepped foot in the door. If you're a local, this is the place to go for non emergency medical needs, 10/10.
