Staff was immensely kind, warm, welcoming and sweet. The staff was extremely kind to my son & even offered a popsicle to him as soon as we got to our room, knowing his throat was sore before even diagnosing the problem just for comfort. Offered a great sense of humor, a thorough and quick exam. Made sure to let us know we were cutting it close to pharmacy closing hours and made sure we had a paper copy of the prescription just in case it lagged in the pharmacy system to ensure we got what we needed that same night. We have been here a number of times now, and it is always the best experience. I called prior to our visit to ask about out copay and was audibly concerned and stressed, and the receptionist reminded me to take a deep breath, and let us know they'd get us taken care of before we even stepped foot in the door. The staff is very rude and unprofessional. The medical field is not for everyone and it's definitely not for the staff at this office. But the doctor was amazing. I was in the area from out of state a couple of weeks ago and needed a covid test before returning home. The entire staff was so kind and helpful. The process of getting an appointment was simple and they were able to take me a little early when I arrived ahead of my appointment. My covid results were ready even faster than anticipated. It probably shouldn't be called "urgent" care. There is nothing urgent about this place. After two hours in the waiting room and only seeing ONE patient get called back this place should be called " Slow to No Care". We left after 2 hours and 18 minutes, WITHOUT being seen. The office staff seemed to be having a GREAT time, the patients, not so much!! The waiting area is cramped, uncomfortable, and could use a thorough clean. The only redeeming quality was the friendliness of the receptionist, Erin. She was apologetic and professional. The receptionist is rude and disrespectful. Besides immediately asking people who walk into the door to have a seat, she talks down to people and acts like she's one of the doctors. The woman needs to understand that the people coming into the front door are paying her salary. One of the nurses who overheard the 'discussions' apologized for behavior. Aside from the rude redhead, the service by the 'professionals' was very good. It had been almost three years since my last visit to this urgent care center... until today. There was a short line to register right when they opened at 8am, but two staffers got four patents registered with efficiency and professionalism. I didn't wait long between being called into the exam room, getting my vitals recorded, seeing the doctor, and getting my treatment from the nurse(s). My total time from entering to leaving was about an hour. The treatment and prescriptions were what I had expected, my scripts were called into my pharmacy of choice promptly, and I have zero complaints. I have no problem going to this urgent care center rather than the bigger and newer one just up the road. It's close to my home, the staff are personable, they get the job done, and they take my insurance. A+ will go again next time I get poison ivy on my face. I've had to go to Sylvania Urgent Care several times due to not being able to get into the doctor at a reasonable time. Every time I've ever come here it's been great, I've never had to wait very long and the last two times I went the wait was only a few minutes. The girls that work at the desk are always very sweet. This particular time I went because I've been having back problems for a few weeks, went to the ER first and they gave me some meds which ran out in a few days. I went to a Chiropractor 3 times in one week which didn't help much at all. I decided to go to urgent care to get another opinion or at the least, get some more meds while I wait to get into my doctors which isn't for several more weeks. I have to say, Dr Mahmoud is the best Dr I have ever seen. He listened to me explain the last several weeks of back problems and all of the things I've tried, he genuinely cared about my pain and the experience I had. He was very confident and without giving too much detail he asked if I was ok doing another x-ray with him (I had already done x-rays at the initial ER I went to as well as the chiropractor) but I think he felt that some of the diagnosis might have been somewhat incorrect. Dr Mahmoud prescribed me a couple meds which I feel are much more suited for my situation and he didn't just load me up with narcotics which I really appreciate. He also set me up with physical therapy and a reference to a neuro specialist if my issue isn't better in a few weeks. I just wanted to write this review to thank Dr. Mahmoud and his staff because I feel like they often go unappreciated for their efforts and have to put up with a lot of crap in the field they're in. I never felt like just another patient while I was there. I would seriously recommend this place to anyone and I feel like it's been a life saver to me on a few occasions. read more

This place is absolutely ridiculous!! I went there on a Sunday mid-afternoon. It was pretty busy, but since we had never been there before, we were prompted to register on a computer prior to talking to someone at the front desk (after we had been standing there for 20 minutes). My husband had something in his eye. They never even asked me when we were checking in what he needed to be seen for. Of course, they charged us before even getting in. Dr. Gauzi wasn't very helpful at all. He put the numbing drops in my husband's eye and then the yellow tint. His black light was pathetic and barely could see anything. His answer was, "if the eye still hurts in a couple of days, go see an eye doctor." Please, save your time and money for some place else. read more

Dr Markowiak was fantastic, diagnosed my problem, assured me I would live and I was back in my car by 8:10. Followed up with a call the next day to check on how I was feeling. I was experiencing severe ear pain due to some wax buildup. Visited West Toledo Urgent Care on Tremainsville. Absolutely no complaints about the care I received; it was exceptional. Ended up resolving the issue with several irrigations of my ear, pretty routine. However, my insurance and myself have received a bill for $455! Can this be correct? I just have to say that the older lady behind the front desk with red hair and glasses was so disrespectful when I came into the building. Trust me I get it, I work in healthcare but you need to have compassion for your patients. I was nothing but nice coming in and she snapped at me for no reason explaining to me that my rapid Covid test I took was not valid. And that they were "fully booked" but yet she was telling people on the phone that they have spots open. She wasn't listening to me she was cutting me off as if I was some young child that didn't have a say. I explained to her that I was never rude walking in I just was simply getting my insurance card and drivers license AS IT STATES WHEN YOU WALK IN. I hope that someone addresses this with her because this is not the first person you would want to interact with at all. It was very rude and disrespectful. Wow! So awful! I went in about a year ago for a really bad cold. I wanted to make sure it wasn't turning into something worse. The "Doctor" told me it was "probably a virus" but that they could give me a shot that would "help me feel better in case it was bacterial." I would have been okay with "It's a virus, we can't do anything, go home." I would have preferred that to "We can give you a shot for something that probably isn't even there." I'm not anywhere near the medical field, but I'm pretty sure that it would be useless to give a shot to someone with a virus. The conclusion I came to was that the "doctor" just wanted to give me something that he could charge money for, or that he assumed I had Münchausen syndrome. Either way, I'm offended. Their computer system is inefficient to use, the staff was not helpful. I'm not returning. I wouldn't suggest this place to anyone. read more

Very fast service but not at all accurate. My son went in for a possible broken finger, the provider xrayed his finger and sent him on his way saying a sore tendon/ligament. Come the next morning he woke up with his finger purple and very swollen, took him to a real hospital and the xrayed it again. Low and behold his finger was actually broken... read more

I was surprised by the lack of professionalism I experienced during a recent visit to Sylvania Urgent Care. The waiting room was crowded, so I expected a long wait. One woman had a very bad cough. When a waiting patient asked for a mask for herself and her son from reception, they looked for some and did comply with the request. Why was the woman with the bad cough not offered one upon arrival? Glad I did not get a respiratory infection during my wait. I came to have a knee injury looked at. I as seen by a PA student, had x-rays, and saw a nurse practitioner for about 15 seconds. My x-rays were put on a cd but I was never told if there was a problem. I was given a prescription for PT for further evaluation. The report of my visit nor my x-rays were ever sent to my primary Doctor, the PT (I selected) evaluated my injury and would not do anything further until I followed up with my doctor. Since my visit to the Urgent Care I have had surgery and am now in recovery mode. I feel this was delayed due to the poor treatment I received on the initial visit. More surprising was the bill I received $265.00 for medical visit and $85.00 for x-rays. The x-ray charge I understand. I dispute that I received $265.00 worth of services from a student and a nurse practitioner that barely stuck her head in the room. I will not return! read more

Then charged me before I could even talk to someone. HUGE SCAM! They couldn't even help me and wanted to suggest another doctor! We just left this urgent care without being seen, I did not have my insurance information with me this time. I thought they would still have it in their system from previous visits. Now that is my fault, I'd admit. But the lack of sensitivity that the front desk staff gave me was not worth my return or my money. Obviously with pain and visible discomfort, i felt the could have seen me with my insurance they had on file,( which is valid), and I could have brought them back or called and gave them anything else they might have needed. The front desk staff didn't care, and didn't even try to call and confirm that everything was valid or correct. They just turned me away. I have a bad sinus infection that's been kicking my ever lovin the past few days. I'm out of town staying in a motel and I've been miserable since my girl is 8 states away and I can't have any tortilla soup (that's a game changer). I left work early and went to this urgent care. From the moment the receptionist greeted me she was nothing but sweet. I had a 5 min or so wait (barely a blink of a goopy eye) then the nurse practitioner came in and I think her name was Amanda. Went in with broken tooth. 10 x pain. Had seen dentist earlier in the day who prescribed Norco. Paid for service. Np said "I cant help you". He indicated that since I had 4 pills to get me through the next 36 hours, that was "one of the strongest paing killers available" then proceed to reccommend 800 mg Ibuprofin. It is a well known fact that Hydrocodone based pain killers are not effective on some people. A quick Google search will confirm this. That is whay I went to get another prescription. Bottom line, go elsewhere if you are in need of urgent care and dont want to waste your money. I want a refund. read more

I've been there twice and both times were great experiences. Everyone is friendly and the service was excellent. In and out quickly. Issue diagnosed correctly. Medications prescribed and sent to pharmacy. Followed up after getting results from recommended CT scan. Very thorough! I will continue to use it as an alternative to the ER. read more

The registration system is very modern and I prefer it that way, seems to quicken the wait. I got all the care I needed, and was even able to speak directly to the Dr. with a question I had after I had left. This place is terrible! Had to register my son myself before I could even talk to someone. Then I wasn't even asked what he was there for. Sat in the waiting room forever even though there were only a couple people there. Was made to pay the co-pay before they knew what my son was being seen for. The guy who checked us in got an attitude with me because I didn't know the exact address of the pharmacy.Then we were taken to a room not much bigger than a closet with only 2 chairs and a small table with gloves and tissues on it. We waited in that room for another 20 mins before a student nurse practitioner came in by herself to check my son. She was in the room for about 2 minutes. The doctor comes back in says my son has strep. He was in the room for less than 2 mins before we were sent on our way with a prescription for antibiotics. I had my first experience with Sylvania Urgent Care earlier this week, and I would definitely use them again, if needed. I went in because I was fairly certain I had a pretty common and easy to cure condition, and I couldn't get in to see my primary care physician until next month. Due to my past experiences with urgent care facilities, I planned on spending the better half of my evening there. I even told my husband he was on his own for dinner. Much to my surprise, I was in and out in under 40 minutes. The check in process was fairly routine, and the receptionist was friendly. I was called back to the exam room almost immediately upon taking a seat in the waiting room. The MA took my vitals and asked me some routine questions, and then took a sample. He let me know the names of the PA and the MD on duty and said I'd be seen by both during my visit. While I waited for the results, the PA student came in to do her bit. She was nervous but very friendly. She wished me well and said we were just waiting on the test results and the PA would be in shortly. I had to wait about 10 minutes, which seemed like forever, but I knew it was only because they were waiting on results. The PA finally came in and confirmed what I'd originally expected, asked if I was allergic to any medications, and said he'd call in my prescriptions for me. He was very professional yet personable. He let me know that the MD was going to check in with me and then I was free to go. A few minutes later, the MD came in, introduced himself and made sure I'd had a satisfactory experience. I headed up to the front desk to settle my bill and was on my way. I got to have dinner with my husband after all! Overall, I was very satisfied with my experience here. I got what I came for with minimal fuss, and the staff were helpful and efficient. read more

I went in there last Sunday night around 8:15 pm and when the receptionist saw my boyfriend walk in she whispered (not very good at whispering) "god dammit" to herself and the other nurse practitioner behind the desk. I was insanely sick with a kidney infection and I shouldn't have had to feel bad about seeking treatment no matter the day or time of day. I was definitely under the impression that they were hoping to close early (they close at midnight) because not only did I have to remind them about a shot I needed the first time they tried to get me out the door, but I tried to reach them not even 20 minutes after I left because they forgot to send my prescription over to cvs. When I called the next morning cvs still had no record of it. I then had to call SUC back that morning and remind them...I went 14 hours without the antibiotics I needed all because Sylvania Urgent Care wanted to close early. read more

I have gone here a few times and they weren't terrible most of the time. However, the last time I went I sat in the waiting room for at least 45 minutes and in the exam room for another 45 minutes. When the doctor did come in he was there for maybe 40 seconds, prescribed some medication, and left. He diagnosed me with the wrong thing because I told him what I thought was wrong. I was extremely frustrated with the wait time as there were maybe two people in front of me and quite a few people left while I was sitting in the waiting room. read more
