When we first came to Woodstock, Sunfrost Farms on Tinker St. was our go-to for organic snacks and stuff to take back to our hotel almost 23 yrs ago. And now that we live in town, Sunfrost F. still remains our occasional go-to on for plants, produce, prepared foods, some cheeses and other grocery items. As an added bonus, Sunfrost F. has an attached café where you can order a sandwich, smoothie and other light bites. Once you're inside, Sunfrost is a treasure trove. Heck, I even found a papaya and mangoes which I bought one of each! The shelves are well-stocked and to make matters even better, depending on the prepared sides, salads, etc- are made with some of the vegetables that are grown and sold here. As Woodstock native I must say Sunfrost is as good as it gets. This quaint little farm stand is split into a juice bar cafe and a farmers market for grocery shopping. Come in the summer and sit outside near the gardens or stop by in the fall to see the spectacular Halloween carved pumpkin display. The juice bar and cafe have an amazing menu filled with fresh healthy made to order ingredients. Best breakfast I've ever had in my life. Period. Try the French Toast. The breakfast potatoes were perfect. Not too greasy and seasoned just right. The whole grain bread was super fresh and had a great texture. Scrambled eggs were just right. Need I go on?! :) Everyone else has said it all. My friend and I had a yummy brunch at this quaint spot. The self serve coffee is solid and the food tasty. I ordered the salmon and egg scramble, served with black beans and toast. Awesome spot! It's a grocery store, a plant store, a juice spot and a restaurant all in one. They have a ton of beautiful flowers, greens and herbs for sale. The store has a ton of local cheeses, baked goods, yummy healthy snacks. The juice bar is colorful and inviting. The menu on the wall is a bit confusing but the staff was helpful. For our breakfast we got enchiladas, cheese omelette and eggs with turkey bacon. I loved my cheddar cheese omelette and the sourdough toast. I also got a vegetable juice with mostly greens. Dear Sunfrost Farms, I love your healthy food and my body does too! Cafe: I got the Green Chicken Enchiladas, my friend lives for the Green Vegetarian Enchiladas. There is a possibility that we would take payment in Sunfrost enchiladas--they're that good.That Carribbean Mocha thing. I don't know what the heck it was, but it was goooood! It was made with banana and it was all frothy and thick like a milkshake. Wow! Also, another time I got one of my favorite things, the Tofu Scramble which was hearty and filling. It comes mixed with your choice of vegetables that are available. I got mine with kale and avocado. Cha-ching I will work for tofu scramble too! Sides include potatoes, salad and your choice of bread. Burritos come packed vegetarian or with meat. The sides include tortilla chips and salad. All menu items can be made vegetarian, vegan, and gluten free. Store: The store seems tiny but seems to have everything you need. What I loved the most is that the arugula is grown on the property along with other vegetables sold in the store. The arugula was just how I like it, slightly spicy. The fresh meats are written on a board behind the counter so be sure to check it out. I tried the fresh snapper and the shrimp which were incredibly fresh and tasty. This place freakin rocks! The actual store is amazing. The produce is so super fresh. They have tons of other items to purchase like homemade apple sauce, spices, nuts and cheeses. Everything is Iocal or organic. Prices aren't that bad either! We had breakfast at the cafe behind the store. It was fantastic. Very casual, very tasty, very good quality! I had an omelette with feta, spinach, kale and tomato with a side of beans and turkey bacon. Everything tasted amazing. They have a special hot sauce - pineapple habanero....good lawd that stuff is great. They need to start selling that stat! Waitress was great. Coffee was fab. Overall excellent place. read more

I have not been in this place for about 5years. I only knew as a organic market, to my surprise they have a great juice/ lunch bar. A vegan heaven!!! I'm not a vegan, but I could total become vegan if I had access to this kinda food in the city. Had a butternut/ pear soup, it was so delicious, kale cakes and vegan Shepard pie really good. So much tastier and you can taste each different veggies, very flavorful without the guilt! Not too expensive either. Friendly staff and looks like a lot of local people love it too. Sun frost is one of my favorite places in the Woodstock area. It's a combination of grocer, restaurant, and nursery. Every time I've been they have been buzzing with customers but never so busy that it's overwhelming. The restaurant has an ample menu with options for everyone. I always tend to go for simple breakfast favorites and a coffee or tea but no matter how simple the meal it's always prepared perfectly with great flavor and friendly service. In addition to having great prepared foods via the restaurant if you need to pick up some fresh produce this is THE place to go in Woodstock for great variety and quality. read more

This is probably my favorite market/Café/nursery in the world! Everything is fresh and local and very, very special. The staff and the management are totally amazing, very welcoming, and always offering to help out with whatever you might need. It's also so nice having this place close to my house, and after being away for so long it was such a nice welcome home! They have fresh baked goods and pre-cooked items that are absolutely delicious, and pastries that more than rival those from the lower East side of Manhattan! And I could go on forever. I live very near to Sunfrost Farms and have been buying fresh groceries, juices and sandwiches from them for many years. The store has a great selection year-round of fresh and local veggies. Especially appealing to me during mushroom season are the baskets of local mushrooms of varying shapes and colors. They always seem to offer the unusual, for another example, baskets of lichee nuts or gooseberries. They also carry fresh local eggs, as well as less local but just as fresh eggs which are more affordable. Before COVID I would very much enjoy the occasional meal from Sunfrost, but most recommended was always the Latin American specials cooked by the Latin American staff. Sunfrost has an impossibly long ordering menu, which for me is never a great sign - my experience is that restaurants with more limited menus take more care in each of their dishes, and I think that holds true of Sunfrost. I think I'd always prefer to get a breakfast or lunch meal from the local bakery, Bread Alone. But, again, you really can't go wrong ordering from Sunfrost. It's all good. And if you are around during Halloween, every year they fill their entire front of their building with intricately carved pumpkins, each with a glowing candle within. It's quite magical! read more

Sunfrost Farms is a lovely little market with just about all the farm fresh goodies you could want, beautiful displayed. There's also a fair assortment of fresh, local cheeses, fish, hay (for all my farmyard pals) and a juice bar with a place to sit and eat. In their small prepared foods section there was a vegetarian shepherd's pie that looked scrumptious. There's a decent amount of parking and prices are reasonable for a higher end market. You know, for years I've been popping in here for a breakfast bite or some easy to get produce, and although I continue to drop in, I'm still left wanting. The core staff--the longtimers--are solid and bring the personality that brightens this place. The produce side is what you'd expect and want.....a decent selection given the limited real estate and overall fresh tasting and looking stock. This is a Whole Foods in miniature... The cafe side, although fast on the arrival of a food dish, and fun if juicing is your thing, has two marked drawbacks. One, it's loud--the acoustics are all wrong and the UFO looking and sounding juicing machine is deafening, making conversation or sitting on your laptop in peace a difficult endeavor. Two, the food is super inconsistent, and rushed feeling--half of the time my orders are messed up in one way or another and nothing really feels substantial nutritively or carefully put together. It starts at the top, and although the owner loves his green thumb and invests pretty passionately in presentation and seasonal variety, there are obvious signs that the business lacks in other departments. If you like interesting juice creations done by interesting staff, or want a quick hot bite, or want to take a short stroll through well stocked greenery and produce (average to above average prices, btw), then this is your stop. I've been coming to Sunfrost ever since I was a child, and I've been going to the juice bar for as long as I can remember. I can always count on there being slow and horrible service. Ten years ago, the employees couldn't be bothered to put up a smile or even greet you after being there for 10 minutes. These days it might even be worse. One of the last few times we went there, we wanted to move from outside to inside and the employee told my partner "can you pick up all of the stuff?" (utensils, napkins, water glasses) in a rude voice. Mind you, this was before we even ordered and it's his job to do these types of things since he is a busboy. Such a response is unprofessional. Today, I came in at 12:10pm and ordered a starburst and tofu scramble. First, it took about 20 minutes for me to even order, but I know to expect this by now. After 20 minutes went by, I hadn't received my drink and my server frantically apologized and got it to me. Twenty-five minutes later, now 45 minutes after I'd ordered, I still hadn't received my tofu scramble. Finally, I spoke up to somebody else and there seemed to be mass confusion about my food. I was on my way to take my nursing boards and I didn't have that much time to spare, so I reluctantly ordered the soup instead of the scramble. When I was done eating, the waitress brought over my bill and charged me for both the soup and the drink. I really think if you have somebody waiting for 45 minutes you should comp them for the cheapest item. It's a shame, because the food is so good. Still, I won't be coming back due to the horrible service I have been receiving for the past 15 years. read more

We rushed out without breakfast & coffee and then became delayed even more. So we were mean! Before our backroads exploring, my husband pulls in for at least an apple. He returns to get me while I'm snapping pics of the variety of pumpkins out front. He tells me "you gotta check out this juice bar". We sit down & there's more organic than we know what to do with. We just know the organic coffee with fresh honey is wonderful. I order french toast made with challah with a hint of vanilla...oooh so good. Hubs orders an omelette with veggies and side potatoes. It was great as well. We sat and watched all the juice drinks being made. Impressive. Everybody there was making over the days soup which was Butternut squash. I only wish we were going to be around for lunch. What I'd give to have this place in Atlanta. read more

Now I love the employees at Sunfrost, they're great people who do their best. Some people say the service is slow but I think it's great and the quality of the produce is even better. I have no qualms with that at all. But the management is atrocious. Not only does management treat the employees with blatant disrespect and disregard, but they've also threatened employees that if they complain about the way they're treated their employment (as well as the employment of their peers and friends) will be put on the line. It's absolutely unprofessional, and knowing that such awful things happens to the nice people who work under such management makes me want to take my business elsewhere. They'll run basically anything you want from the farmstand through the juicer (or put in on a plate for you). One of the best things about Sunfrost is that you can order online ahead of time for the grocery, deli and juice bar. Many ask for Special orders for fresh roasted rosemary whole chickens. My favorites from the deli are the kale cakes, turkey meatballs, oyster chicken, risotto with cream sauce and wild mushrooms, roasted beets. There is freshly gourmet crab cakes, roasted veggies, delicious casseroles, and fresh meats like cooked salmon. Usually a good handful of vegetarian and vegan options. The grocery store has many local fresh unique culinary items, gooseberries, wild mushroom from the Catskill area, raspberries, fresh greens and herbs from Sunfrost Farms. My favorite drink from juice bar is a banana with a shot of coffee, maple syrup, coconut cream and milk! My favorite sandwich would be an egg sandwich with bacon avocado tomatoes lettuce AND the pesto mayo from heaven!!! I could go on but there are many things to celebrate at Sunfrost! read more

Haven't been here in a good few yrs, and was hoping I could still get a frosty grape drink. Walked in ~5:58pm with multiple ppl sitting at the counter still eating and drinking. Was told they were closed and wouldn't serve me. I worked in quite a few restaurants /ice cream shops when I was younger and we would never have done this to a customer.
