We are happy because it's all local. What a friendly atmosphere and cheerful. *no more cider donuts for the time being being sold here but that's ok. My first visit to Roe's was a field trip in Elementary School - now I'm almost 60. They have - hands down - the absolute BEST Apply Cider I've ever tasted - and I've tried many. A fixture in the Blooming Grove/Washingtonville/Monroe/Chester area and beyond, Roe Orchards is way more than apples. The vast majority of the produce they sell has been grown in their orchards and on their farms. Everything is freshly picked: potatoes, peppers, squash, tomatoes, pears, garlic, onions, peaches and so much more. Their sweet corn is legendary and not to be missed. There's local honey and locally made preserves available. They grow many varieties of apples, and in the fall, pumpkins and gourds are also available. Their homemade pies and cider donuts sell out every weekend. Roe's closes during the winter because, well, there's nothing freshly picked to sell, and they use that time preparing for the next growing season. You will often be helped by one of the Roe family members; everyone is friendly and knowledgeable. Roe Orchards is an old fashioned farm stand (actually, the products are stocked and sold in one of the barns) that's rarely seen anymore. This orchard was located about 20 minutes away from the Woodbury Outlets, so we decided to make the stop on our way there. We were craving apple cider and apple cider donuts, so we were happy to see positive reviews. Upon arriving, we were very underwhelmed - the parking lot was very disorganized and did not have a very clear indication of where was fair game to park. After we settled in, we walked inside the barn to see their offerings, which was very limited since it was towards the end of their day. They had a selection of apples, pears, and vegetables for purchase. We picked up 4 donuts (65 cents each) and a half gallon of apple cider. The staff wasn't the friendliest - a group of young girls came in to ask when they're next batch of donuts where coming out and she just said "they're not".. not the best impression. Overall, donuts were good, but not great. Cider was cold and not overly sweet. Don't think we will be back again, but a nice pit stop on our drive to shop. read more

Open for the season as of 7/20/17. This place is the real deal. They only serve what they grow or bake. Preserves not so. In season they are a go-to farm for peaches, berries, corn and apples. Greens are not a major crop. If you are in the Chester area, definitely stop by. read more

I have never left a review before but I needed to for their Apple cider doughnuts! My husband and I got married in mid October at a venue close by. We stopped in on the way home and bought a few doughnuts. We loved them so much we asked them if they could make 180 doughnuts as our wedding favors. Wonderful place! I'm always disappointed when the season ends and they close for a couple of months over the winter. The produce is amazing and very affordable, and even things they sell from other places are are high quality at reasonable prices. They have wonderful home made pies on weekends. ..especially straight up old fashioned apple! A wide variety of apples from the orchard, and even lovely bouquets of flowers from their gardens for only about $8 are available in season. Can't wait for pumpkins on my next trip! I've been coming to Roe Orchards for well over ten years. My friends and I love their peaches, blueberries, and apples. They are so juicy and packed with flavor!!! I've always said that you will not find peaches like theirs in the supermarkets. They also sometimes have top notch cheese. You'll enjoy the cool, fresh air and the friendly, knowledgeable people. Yes they have great apples and other in-season produce but what makes me a fan is that they often have seconds which save me $. Why don't other farm stands have seconds? I drive out of my way most weekends to pick up the essentials and have learned to eat seasonally. Only bummer is that they are closed over the winter (understandable) and then I have to go back to buying fruit and veg from the store that never tastes as fresh as what I buy from Roe's Orchards and usually costs me double :( read more

Best apple cider donuts, but their fruit is to be desired and a hit or miss; they are very expensive in general. They always hide less desirable fruit on the bottom of their containers. Don't even try to swap out any of the bad fruit, as they will be on top of you with a dissertation claiming there is nothing wrong with it while treating you like a criminal for not wanting to purchase their inferior fruit at top dollar, expensive prices - totally lacking customer service skills. Will be shopping at the abundant and friendlier farm stands in the area. Not worth the aggravation or prices! read more

I've gotten some of the best greens here! The garlic is outrageous! We also grab the maple syrup and of course, their honey. It's amazing. They also sell fresh baked pies from time to time and they have a wide variety of many vegetables. Great place! read more

Mostly I have been there for fall where they are apple pies (amazing!) and cider donuts (if you grab any... people are waiting for them to come out of the oven!). I grew up eating MacIntosh apples from Roe's, and drinking that fantastic apple cider. In the 1970's, my school bus picked up the Roe kids, and I would always catch a glimpse thru the barn doors of apples running up a conveyor belt. The smell of apples at Roe's is a great childhood memory. Since Roe's Orchards makes THE BEST APPLE CIDER, I am always disappointed every time I taste any other. The Roe Family are the best. We buy all our apples, cider & vegees from them. I am a craftsman and make a lot of wooden toys, knife handles, tool handles, and much more from wood. I once needed some apple sticks for my work/hobby. The owner showed me a big wooden box filled with apple sticks. He said, take all you want. I gathered up an armful.
