I came back to return the ones I bought May 18 and had my receipt with proof that I payed $175.42 for the sunglasses but they would only refund me $101. The man who sold me the sunglasses split a buy one get one 50% off even though I told him not to and added some of it to my purchase leaving me with somehow paying $175.42 for my sunglasses and only getting $101 back. Sammie at the hut was very unhelpful and clearly didn't want to return them whatsoever even though I have the receipt matching my card and the bank statement on my phone. We asked if there was a manager override to help us out with the return and Sammie stated that she was the standing manager position but somehow had no authority to make the return. She even went as far as trying to convince me to sell them on marketplace or even saying she can give in store credit only.

I called in the morning and they got us in the same day. Blake was the optician/receptionist and couldn't have been nicer. Dr. Mikala Porter did the eye testing for me. We talked about some questions I had and she assured me that what I had was normal. Suggested some solutions for allergies. My husband has some problems from the stroke. This wasn't any problem for Dr. Porter. She was very confident and encouraging while testing him. We thought that we might retest on him before we bought new glasses, just to make sure. Blake was very nice and explained the pricing structure with my insurance plan. I went a little more on the special lenses that I wanted, but I got exactly what I wanted. 2 pair of SHADES! They had already checked on my insurance coverage, which takes a load off our minds right away. The optometrist, was amazing, and friendly! I could tell when I walked in people feel comfortable and cared for there. She took a full hour with me and explained different procedures with me, such as cataracts, contacts, bi- focals, eyelid correction& answered all my questions! Coming from a background where my brother Dr Dale Van Dyke, was always our family optometrist! I had moved back to Grandville and he was retired, so I tried the fast paced eye care places,like RX OPTICAL, etc...only to find rushed , and assembly line care. It was difficult to get answers and the followup I needed. I will follow up on this, later this year. Thank you WOODBRIDGE for being in Grandville! This was while I was alone in a room with him. Once someone else walked in and was watching, he switched right over to being polite - as if I didn't deserve basic human respect unless someone else was watching! The whole situation was quite bizarre and I am sure this optometrist would not have dared to treat a man so badly! I will definitely not be seeing him again and I regret the waste of using my eye insurance for this appointment when I could've felt safe and respected by seeing someone else. Note: I have had good experiences at Rx optical all the other times I've been there, so not all their optometrists are like this. But apparently the Knapp/East Beltline location was the wrong place to go!
