I looked around and found a company that would take me from Seldovia to anchorage for 180$.... Ravn gives a full credit for cancellations (yay #ravnair ) and I got to take the most amazing flight with a very friendly pilot... I think his name was Mauricio and if not I am sorry as you were terrific!. Take is easy on this guy as he goes homer to four beautiful kiddos under the age of 7. There were a couple other passengers and I got to see a couple of really cute airports. The flight felt like a minute and I wish it lasted a lot longer.. if I save up for next summer I will be learning to fly one of these planes based on this experience. The owner took us to anchorage airport (15$- totally worth it and cheaper then any Uber). but my flight was about 7 hours away and I asked if there was a good place to enjoy the fresh air. he took me to a park with a lovely restaurant that let me charge my phone :). The front desk was wonderful and let me store my luggage. I sat on the grass and watched the float plane park and all its activity and I took a nice walk.. The whole experience with midnight air was fun and flawless and led to other wonderful experiences... Thank you... Missed our Alaska Airlines flight from Anchorage due to Sportsmans indifference. Weather was excellent and there were no mechanical issues. The lodge was only 30 minutes flight time from Anchorage. The missed flight meant an unplanned overnight stay in Seattle and a 6 AM departure the next day. The arrogant indifference to the consequences of their incompetence was staggering!

The walrus were spectacular and our pilot walked us out to the cliffs where we could see them popping in and out of the water rolling their giant bodies up on the beach. We had an awesome lunch listening to the big males bark at each other. This was an unbelievable experience. I really liked that my pilot was the owner of his own business. We flew back to Anchorage that evening, pretty great day, great company.

Called them to check availability, very kind and friendly to speak to over the phone. Booking was very easy. As I said, we booked over the phone, they E-Mailed us an invoice, and we paid online. Simple. We booked a day trip, and the trip to Katmai is split in two flights - one to King Salmon and one to Katmai. Views from the flight are absolutely beautiful. Nothing quite prepares you for how amazing it is flying into Katmai. I was worried that we came too late in the season to see any bears, but we saw two in the ocean as we were landing. Incredible. Definitely expensive. But 100% worth it. Highly recommend, would do it again.

No phone contact at all. No contacting you. You must sit and wait for an ungodly amount of time for one of them to speak up. So there's no one to report Uber driver crimes to. The cops defer to Uber. Uber just ignores it. No justice. Today, an Uber driver rode off with my phone, refused to answer my phone or Uber support when they called to inquire about it, drove an hour out to Wasilla, and dumped it in the woods. I was one of Uber's first customers when they first started in only three cities. Today, they lost my business permanently. This was a major wake-up call to how unsafe Uber has become. I'm posting this review now so others may be aware that if your driver commits a crime against you, the police and Uber both may leave you hanging dry... and allow that driver to keep on doing to others what they were doing to you. The screenshot is what you get from Uber support if you try to report anything involving illegal activities. That's all. There is a driver named Kaitlin who gets ridiculously high while driving (to the point she can't communicate with the passenger) and won't return your phone if you leave it behind. I would highly advise avoiding rides with anyone by that name who drives a Kia Sportage with the license plate JXW941.

Flight was on the ground and we were at the door at 5:55pm. Lady ignored us and locked the doors. There were a handful of renters that were left either finding a place to stay or staying in the parking lot in the rv. Checkout the following morning took a whole 10 minutes! So we had to delay our departure by 13 hours for a 10 minute process. For $4100 to rent the rv, I would think a reasonable amount of flexibility warranted. This delayed us getting to a scheduled fishing charter at cooper landing. The shuttle was also not running so we had to grab an Uber to get there. Be aware of this when considering flight times. The rv was ok.

My family rented an RV from Amazing Accommodation Alaska (AAA) for 13 nights from late June to…read moreearly July. It's summertime in Alaska so I booked the RV months in advance. Sabine (the owner) answered all the questions we had from RV to mosquitoes to everything else under the sun. She helped us so much on planning the entire Alaska trip. She was so patient and kind. Because AAA is outside of Anchorage, you don't have to pay the 10% tax. Another thing we love about AAA is that they have no hidden fees. At the end, I think we saved about $700 renting from AAA comparing to other big RV companies in Anchorage. The RV was very clean and in good condition when we got it. Picnic chairs and table and cooler come with the RV rental at no additional charge. They provide a good supply of kitchenware (pots, pans, dishes, small bowls, cookware, silverware, etc.) toiletries, clean towels, first aid kit, cooler, pillows, blankets. They will make sure you have enough for the length of your rental. They even put a pair of latex glove for dump stations which we thought was very thoughtful. They let us borrow a bear spray but luckily we didn't need to use it. Before you take off, Sabine, personally, would go over the RV with you, and show you how to operate the gas stove, turn on/off the generator, water heater, AC, heater, etc. She put together a little manual in case of emergency. She gave us her cell number in case we ran into any problems with the RV, we would have been able to contact her. We forgot how to operate a few things and I had to call her a couple times; Sabine was more than happy to show us again. I can't say enough how happy and satisfied we are with Sabine and her rental company. They are amazing beyond words. I would strongly recommend using Amazing Accommodation Alaska.

I put "company" in air quotes bc even though it is a business, it didn't feel that way. You can tell immediately this is a personal venture - Clinton was extremely prompt with any communication. We booked through outdoorsy.com and there was a system glitch two days before our arrival so my husband emailed Clinton and he called back very shortly afterwards to explain and confirm our van and dates of reservation. He picked us up at the airport (with a 6 am arrival time no less! He also dropped us off back at the airport) and then took his time to review the contract and functionality of the camper. He was thoughtful and thorough and very responsive. Felt like everything had a personal touch to it and he was honest. The camper is extremely well equipped. Bed is comfortable, and comes with pillows, sheets and an amazing comforter. There are drapes for privacy which was great to block out the night time light (since the sun sets so late here in the Summer; they're not black out drapes and we were told that from the get go. Again, honest owner ) and adds privacy when we parked (drapes blocks out the front and side windows). There is a pump sink, all the major cooking pots and cast iron pan (!), coffee pot, propane portable grill, table for eating inside and folding table for grilling roadside. Large cooler also comes with. Recessed lighting and surround sound with Bluetooth connection means you're one click away from a van party (Seriously. The bass is legit.). Comes with plugs and usb connection and axillary battery to charge all your mobile devices. The van is smooth to drive (okay, I admit, I didn't drive it, but my husband loved it and said it was easy to use and drive). We averaged 25-30 miles a gallon (which is amazing for a van). It was clean, quiet, and totally met and exceeded our needs and expectations! #glamping Hands down if we come back again, we will be looking to rent from Northern Nomads again. They won't leave your stranded. Clinton was telling us how he's looking into a spare van/camper to make sure people who book with him won't be stranded should there be an issue with the van (ex. Tire issue, bull moose crash - these are real examples). You spend a lot of time, money and energy getting to the last frontier, you want to make sure it's a solid trip. THIS will give you a home to stay while maximizing your time in Alaska!

I was really shocked he was able to find a same day available RV to rent in June, since RV's reservations are made MONTHS in advance in the summer in Anchorage. He scoured the internet and found this teeny mom n pop company listed on Outdoorsy.co (not .com) that had an RV immediately available. He was able to make his reservation and payment on line and the RV was ready for pickup a few hours later. We showed up to pick up the RV at 6pm and I have to say, the place looked sketchy. There's no signs, not office and the lot is way in the back down a bumpy dirt road. But, everything actually turned out to be fine. The fleet is a little older, but the owner Tom is a mechanic and keeps everything running fine. It's quite a bit cheaper than some of the other places in town with newer fleets. We're hardcore Alaskans that don't believe in glamping; we just wanted hard sided protection from wildlife. Tom's and his helper spent a long time with us giving us the RV 101 orientation, which was awesome. The RV had everything we needed, although I do wish it had USB chargers. Note to self, bring a cell charger that plugs into the cig lighter. But everything was a-ok. We had all the kitchen doodads we needed, and since we mentioned Yelp we got free linens. Insurance was included. Tom made us very safe and let us know if we had any issues or questions we could call or text day or night. He also said he'd provide roadside assistance should we need it. I really appreciated the personalized service. If you like supporting the little guy, I highly recommend giving Alaska Family Motorhomes a shot! We'll definitely rent from them again if the need arises.
