I don't really know what to say as zero feedback is given to the clients. I missed a call while on vacation from Sunny Acres but they left me no text or voice mail. Nor did they reach out to my emergency contact. When I called them back, their office was closed so I still don't know why they had called. I never know how my dog does under their care since they do not provide any communication. read more

My first introduction to Sunny Acres was in 2009 when I adopted my puppy, Gus. I enrolled him in a puppy training class which, at the time, was associated with Sunny Acres. His wonderful trainer recommended taking him to day camp at Sunny Acres a few days a week to exhaust some of his boundless energy while I was at work during the day. Gus loved going to camp and always came home happy and exhausted. In 2022, my boyfriend and I adopted a new puppy, Ruby. Because of my previous great experience with Sunny Acres, we began taking her as to camp soon as she was fully vaccinated. Sunny Acres gives Ruby a place to socialize with other dogs and people while we are working. Ruby LOVES going to camp and gets so excited to go. When I pick her up after work, she doesn't want to leave! It completely wears her out and she comes home and immediately falls asleep. We have boarded her there as well, and she is always eager to return. The staff is fantastic and has informed me when they have noticed anything out of the ordinary. One time they relayed that when they put her away for nap time, they noticed a few bug bites on her belly and asked me to keep an eye on it. I was very impressed that not only is the staff monitoring them while they play, they're also looking the dogs over for irregularities during their down time. If you have a high energy dog who loves being with other dogs, Sunny Acres is the ideal place for them. They can have a fun day while you work or run errands, and you don't have to worry about them being bored or getting into trouble while you are away. I can't recommend them more highly! read more

Picked up my 2 dogs (puppies) last week. First time boarding here for a week. Both the onboarding and discharge was smooth and both my animals were happy and healthy (my male dog is super sensitive and I was concerned especially for him - but he was his normal sweet self!). Just picked up my pup and was charged for add on's I DID NOT add on but the manager Adam( I think that was his name) thinks that his system is flawless! I was told there was no way in the world he could have added these items onto my bill. I tried to show him on my phone what I did not add but he refused to see. Hmmm kind of makes me wonder how many times they add things to peoples bills????? staff are fantastic with pets, my experience with the office staff as it to consecutive "surprises" at checkout over my most recent pickups have made today's pickup my last experience here. I'd been a customer for years, habitant totaled several weeks of care for my dog. In November, the ofc mgr outright said I was lying about what I wanted when I dropped off two weeks prior. Today, I pick my dog up a day early and am told that the next days dog walks are alll they can refund. PLEASE read fine print and be CRYSTAL clear at drop off. read more

I love Sunny acres for doggie daycare and boarding. I have an Australian cattle dog, who can be difficult and she seems really happy there. They do a great job with nail trims, and she's a difficult nail trim! She goes to doggie day care three days per week, and I occasionally board her on a Friday night for dates. She has also been boarded there for around 1week without any issues! All the dogs look happy here, and the front desk staff are very nice, and have things organized well! read more

Had a bad experience after my mother got sick and had to be hospitalized. We had to urgently place her two sweet dogs at Sunny Acres until we could find them a new home. Since we all lived out of state, my brother from Houston gave his DEBIT card to pay for the stay. At the same time the dogs were in Sunny Acres, my brother was hit with severe flooding by Hurricane Harvey and was strapped for cash. I called and pleaded with them to transfer the charges from his debit card to my credit card (refund his card and charge my credit card to give him access to much needed cash). First they outright refused. I again explained the situation and instead of trying to help, the girl on the phone told me "not to tell her about living through a hurricane" and how she lived through hurricane Katrina. She was not helpful nor sympathetic to our situation. I told them to charge my credit card first and make sure it went through before giving the refund to my brother's debit card if that was the concern. They still refused without giving any reason. I pleaded to talk to a manager twice and the girl on the phone put me on hold and then came back and told me the manager said "no" without any explanation. The manager refused to talk to me on the phone. Ultimately, she stated that the manager offered to transfer less $200 of the nearly $2,000 charge, and I had to pay a $10 fee before they would even do that. I couldnt believe what I was hearing. For someone who had been through a terrible hurricane, flooding, the devastation and financial hardship - they were completely unwilling to transfer a charge to a different card to allow my brother access to much needed cash. Almost $2,000. I was truly in shock. I was literally in tears. The good news is that my brother had people that were able to help him in his time of need until I got paid. Not the type of company that I would I work with again in the future. At the very least, the manager should have gotten on the phone and spoken to me and explained why they were so unwilling to help when we were so desperate. I hope they never have to experience what my family experienced. read more

Our dogs love Sunny Acres! Us humans have a few gripes, but we keep sending them back because we know they're in good hands. We've taken our dogs to other day cares and boarding places which have been good, but SA has so many open, outdoor space, that it's really wonderful knowing that our dogs will have a fun, exciting weekend to run around outside. They're fairly well priced, but I do feel like they nickle and dime you for various services. It's nice to have options, but it seems like more of a money-maker than for the dog's owner. I also wish they provided Sunday pick-up, since that's often when we're getting back from a weekend trip - it's a hassle to have to come during a workday just because they don't provide a Sunday pickup during the afternoon. I also wish they could take a hint from other local places and have webcams since other dog moms would probably enjoy being able to watch their pup romp around. Finally, a few times I've dropped our dogs off, they've told us to keep their leashes, and they just tie a lead around our dogs' necks -- pretty off putting and concerning. Otherwise, they're really lovely people who seem to really care about the animals. read more

I have never loved this place but they've had openings several times we've been in a bind so.. we've gone with it. However, after this last trip, I wouldn't go back. My dog was sent with an anxiety medication that is to be used only for emergencies (i.e. thunderstorms, fireworks..).. he doesn't do well on medication but sometimes, it's necessary when being boarded. This was written down on the baggie itself that held the medicine and was on his form. When my dog came home with dilated eyes, I called to see when/ why he was medicated on pick up day. It was then I found out that the bottle of meds i sent (that had 20 pills in it - nearly full), was sent home with FOUR left. They literally gave him drugs twice a day for the entire week I was gone. When i spoke with the manager, he said "I dont think your dog needed any while here, he was very calm"... and yet, when we get into the details of the actual medication and how many pills were remaining, he claimed he didn't know and must have remembered wrong. They also sent him home with the wrong blanket and zero of the extra food I had packed. Seems like their documentation process is messy and careless and staff is wreckless to drug a dog that much and "not remember". Would not recommend. read more

Our 3 puppies LOVE sunny acres! When Kyle comes to pick them up (yes, I do not have to drop them off) they run to the van. They are happy puppies at Sunny Acres. All 3 puppies get groomed and come back beautiful. We have no problem leaving them there for a few days when we travel. They get lots of play time. I expected this response as Donna makes up things as she goes. This should not have been a surprise as I had respectfully requested a refund and it was agreed upon. I was told that their computers were down and that when they came back online, I would be issued a refund. I waited, but never received the refund. I contacted my cc company to dispute and while I was on hold they contacted Donna. Just to be clear, the credit card company did not rule in her favor, they advised us both that since this was a service and not a product, they would only try to mediate a resolution. Donna was also supposed to call me back when their computers were back online to provide me with proof of the vaccination dates, again, she did not follow through on her promise. I most certainly asked my vet if they had been contacted and they said they had not. I don't know if she really had the info on the date of my original call, or contacted them after the fact, but I was told they were not contacted. She references being responsible for vet bill, never did I request reimbursement for any vet bills. I only requested a refund for the 110.25 spent on boarding. A weekend boarding, along with vet bills and two days off work cost me $1238.75. I didn't think a refund of 110.25 was asking too much. I stand by my review, pet lovers beware - avoid this place at all cost! read more

These guys are fantastic. We recently moved from California and had to arrange for ground transport of our dogs due to breed restriction on one and size limit in the other. The pet shipper showed up a day early and even though we had arranged for the drop off to occur during business hours, the shipper said they would be arriving late, probably around 9 - 10 pm. They didn't show up until 1:30am. Sunny Acres made sure to have someone there, and although they charge for after hours drop off and pick up, I certainly wouldn't expect them to make someone available for such a huge window. They were so accommodating throughout this whole process, I can't thank them enough. They helped take the edge off a truly stressful situation. We have already booked our pets for another stay next month. read more

We recently boarded our cat at Sunny Acres Pet Resort. Normally our cat does not eat much when he is in a kennel. But at Sunny Acres he ate all his food and came home happy. Clearly the staff did a great job keeping him for us. We will definitely always return to Sunny Acres. read more

I'm so shocked by some of the reviews here that I have to wonder if we're talking about the same place. Our dog has been going to day camp at Sunny Acres 3 times a week for a year and we have never had any problem or concern at all. I have no complaints with the care he receives or with the staff with whom I interact. The owner is onsite all day, every day, and given the way the dog bounds out of the car and greets the 'yard staff' I feel confident he is happy and treated well. I don't know what the reviewer who mentioned turnover is talking about since the office staff, groomer, and several yard staff have been there the entire year we've been going. Also, our dog is in a large pen with other dogs all day and I have never had any problem with him being injured. I can't recommend Sunny Acres highly enough. Update: This review was written in July 2012. Everything still holds true in January 2013. Update August 2014: All remains the same... Update July 2015: All remains the same, after 3 years. We are very happy with the care our dog receives from Sunny Acres staff. read more

I was having family and friends come into town for my baby shower and with all the running around I had to find a place to do a last minute grooming on my westie. I spent all morning calling and stopping by 10-15 different places trying to get a wash only. I had no idea how hard it was to find a place to get a dog wash. One place told me to call back in January, it's October :( My guests were arriving that evening. I walked into Sunny Acres feeling defeated but their warm atmosphere and willingness to help made my day. My fur baby was able to get a wash and the wait was very short. I highly recommend this business and I thank them for fitting us in! read more

Honestly, I can only review as grooming for my cat. She is an exotic Persian who happens to be really divalicious, however I have a lot of trouble brushing her, you can guess why but the divalicious comes into play.So of course I have to get her shaved at least once a year because of the mats. This is the only place I go and for good reason, they take great care of Lily and get the job done quickly with no stress to her, I drop her off and in a couple of hours I pick her up. No muss , no fuss and lily is always happy after a hair cut.LOL read more

Our two dogs had a wonderful experience at Sunny Acres, and we really appreciate all of the work that the staff did to make their stay great. Everyone that we encountered there was thoughtful and caring. They were fantastic at following special instructions, and the facility and grounds are very nice. There are large fenced outdoor play areas and the rooms have Kuranda beds (just like home!). Our pups came home happy and we appreciated that they were so well cared for during their stay. Boarded our dog here about 10 times and the dog was always fine, but the crazy restrictive pick-up and drop-off hours routinely forced us to have to pay for a extra days and seemed like price gouging. For example, on Saturday, you must pick up your dog before noon or you have to wait until Sunday. Then on Sunday, you can only pick your dog up between 4-6. So, for example, if you want to pick your dog up at 1 pm on Saturday, you cannot and are forced to pay for an extra 1.5 days. Absurd policy. read more

I would give zero stars if I could. This place was extremely insensitive and rude about returning the $50 deposit to my mom after the unexpected death of my father. We have been using Sunny Acres for almost 20 years but after the way we were treated by someone in management we will NEVER come back. They insisted on a 7 day cancellation policy after we explained the circumstances. Obviously zero compassion and it felt like a slap in the face during an extremely difficult time. Day campers may be okay, but DO NOT BOARD your animal here. The treatment of boarded animals can be inhumane and hinges on how much $$$$ you pay. For heaven's sake, tour the area where your pet will be boarded and ask how often your pet will be let out of its cage. This business has an extremely high employee-turnover rate.
