What a cool arts space down the road from Media! I came here to check out some of the offering for…read morethe Philadelphia Tea Bowl Exhibition. The Community Arts Center is tucked away down a local street, and I was concerned that I was lost--thankfully not the case. I had a great visit. The building feels like a living, breathing tribute to art. There are multiple floors for hosting classes and events. There is a kiln for firing pottery on site. Even the grounds are beautiful, with lots of art and sculptures resting around the walkways outside. The Tea Bowl Exhibition was very well done. I bought a ticket for a Japanese tea demonstration, which was really interesting and enjoyable. I thought I'd be at the Arts Center for an hour, but I stayed much longer to check everything out. If I lived closer, I'd definitely look into taking classes here. For now, I look forward to my next visit for an event or exhibition.

Absolutely beautiful art center, each wall and room is eye-candy, this building and its grounds…read morehave so much character. I wanted to try something new out of the ordinary and found the right class in this place, ZENTANGLE. Marie (instructor) guides each student into different levels of awareness, meditating thru lines, figures and shades becoming a complete drawing. She begins with breathing exercises and leads you as soothing music is played in the background. The class is a couple of hours and trust you'll leave there relaxed and proud of yourself. You don't need to know how to draw or have any particular talent to getaway in your own piece of art. I give it 5stars because of Marie's unique techniques, close parking, picturesque campus, clean bathrooms, and ZENTANGLE's ballroom classroom in the 2nd floor is quite elegant, each corner says a story. Must experience.

This daycare has been a huge disappointment. It's clear that the wellbeing of the children and…read morefamily is not a priority here. The staff show little to no engagement with the kids, they spend most of the day chatting among themselves while the children are left unattended, bored or ignored. Some of the teachers are outright mean and impatient, showing no warmth or care. But thanks to Ms. Tracey, Jamira and Ms. Rebecca. To make matters worse, the new director seems completely overwhelmed and disorganized, offering no leadership or meaningful improvements. Communication is poor and there is absolutely nothing nurturing or professional about the environment anymore. If you value your child's development, safety, or happiness this is not the place.

They use the ProCare app, which makes it easy to pay your bill, get updates, sign forms, and chat with the staff. The director is thoughtful and caring and has made a clear commitment to excellence including going for the next Keystone STARS "star". The teachers are caring, kind, and provide great structure. They move through weekly themes in the classrooms and have art projects, stories, and songs that align with the theme. They play a lot but it's not just free play all day every day. The use age-appropriate activities and curriculum. Our two-year-old can now count to ten in English and Spanish, and her language acquisition has been nonstop. It's clear the classrooms are under control and the kids are well supervised and cared for. As a parent you can just tell if your kid's diaper is being changed often, they're napping well, and they're being cared for. Our daughter loves her teachers and classmates and talks about them all the time. The facility is clean, organized, and secure. They even refresh with holiday decorations and have celebrations for the kids, teachers, and families. They do periodic "Parent Nights" where for way less than a babysitter your child can stay late at the Center. The kids go outside to the fenced-in outdoor play area whenever weather allows and have a glass-enclosed play space when it's too cold or wet out. There's plenty of parking so pickup and drop-off is easy. We have had a great experience and highly recommend ELCA!
